Congrats! I just got my sleeve surgery date: 11 Jan 2010. My sister, Stoongal, is recovering nicely from hers. Her daughter (my niece, TimeforMe) and I are going to Tijuana together and we're doing it! Stoongal will accompany us. She led the way for our family.
  2. Hello hello hello! I'm so excited about the adventure we're going on together in Mexico. What a great way to start the new year! Caring about ourselves enough to do this surgery gives us so much hope for the rest of our lives. I told my daughter of my plans yesterday and she is very pleased too.

  3. I love your success story. I'm about to turn 61 before my VSG. I'm 200 lbs and 5'3", carrying it mostly in the mid body and upper arms and back. I want to ask you what if any problems you've had with loose skin as your weight came off.
  4. Hi this is TinyTummy reaching out to everyone. My head is still wrapping around all the information about the vertical sleeve surgery that I expect to be having early in the new year. I'm constantly thinking about the all the improvements in my health and comfort. Right now I live quite a balancing act between being active and not too active because I have a chronic pain disorder (Fibromyalgia). I was diagnosed with it in Sept 01. My physician has had me walking my dogs every a.m. and again in the evening, regardless of the weather. I am proud to be still able to work full time in an office, but couldn't do it without a 1/2 hour nap I take at noon to let my body relax and stretch out. I've been overweight since about 2 years old and dieted off 20 lbs. at 12 years old. That was the beginning of the yo yo body weight for the next 40 years or so till I couldn't be bothered any more. It hurt too much to alway gain it back and more.

  5. I am thrilled that I am going to Mexico in Jan 2010 for a vertical sleeve procedure. I'm a burned out dieter who quit trying but pain and discomfort has been the result. My sister is a member and she just had her surgery a few days ago and is doing great.
