I finally got my blood pressure where it needs to be !!!! I have a surgery date.....DECEMBER 1st !!!!!!! YES !!!! I'M SO HAPPY !!!!!!!! THANK YOU GOD!!!!!:mad::sad0: -
I know this is weird, but I just wondered if I was the only one. The worst thing I think I've ever eaten was, fried chicken skin. Not on the chicken, but take off the chicken, egged, floured and fried, like pork skins, by it self. Yeah that is the lowest of the low...but it was GREAT! I did that at least 3 times, along with eating the chicken I fried without skin. Then I got a hold of myself and had to stop the insanity!!! that was MY WORST out of control moment. What's yours?

My OUT OF CONTROL moment

My NEW surgery Date is Dec. 1st, SO you and I will be recovering together...how cool is that? -
PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THAT MUCH IBUPROPHEN, IT WILL WRECK YOUR INTESTINAL TRACK ! Even if you have a cast iron stomach, you don't have cast iron intestines. I took lots of ibruprophen, about 7 years ago, 4 pills at a time, for times a day for back and leg pain. I was on my feet all the time at work. I started bleeding rectally, and then the pain started in my colon. I was diognosted with ulcerative colitis, and I take meds every day for that. My internalist said they don't know what causes ulcerative colitis, and there is no cure, but ibuprophen certainly contrubuted to and severly aggravated my condition. When under the care of a physician, the maximum dose of ibuprofen is 3.2 g daily. Otherwise, the maximum dose is 1.2 g daily. Individuals should not use ibuprofen for more than 10 days for the treatment of pain or more than 3 days for the treatment of a fever unless directed by a physician. SIDE EFFECTS: The most common side effects from ibuprofen are rash, ringing in the ears, headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, constipation and heartburn. NSAIDs reduce the ability of blood to clot and therefore increase bleeding after an injury. Ibuprofen may cause ulceration of the stomach or intestine, and the ulcers may bleed. Sometimes, ulceration can occur without abdominal pain, and black, tarry stools, weakness, and dizziness upon standing (orthostatic hypotension) due to bleeding may be the only signs of an ulcer. NSAIDs reduce the flow of blood to the kidneys and impair function of the kidneys. The impairment is most likely to occur in patients who already have impaired function of the kidney or congestive heart failure, and use of NSAIDs in these patients should be cautious. People who are allergic to other NSAIDs, including aspirin, should not use ibuprofen. Individuals with asthma are more likely to experience allergic reactions to ibuprofen and other NSAIDs. Fluid retention (edema), blood clots, heart attacks, hypertension and heart failure have also been associated with the use of NSAIDs. Research the side effects of Ibprophen. Hope this will prevent this condition happening to you. I really feel for you.:sad0: Judy

Newbie: Here's My Story (Slv: 12/18/09)

I tried to go through the same surgical center as you have choosen, but my Family absolutely refuse to let me go out of the country...sigh...it would be so much cheaper. As of now, I've choosen Dr. Ballanger of St. Elizabeth's in Gonzales, La. 13,950, everything included. I wish my Husband would let me go to Mexico, but I've had no luck with that. Oh well, at least I get it, as soon as I get my BP down. BEST of LUCK to you Aimee, welcome to the family! Judy -
My OUT OF CONTROL moment
JudyJudyJudy replied to JudyJudyJudy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Please be careful with your "last suppers"....I made that mistake....after I got my surgery date, I ate like a pig! I had rotel cheese dip, two nights in a row for supper, I had fried chicken & mashed potatoes, I has mexican food, I had chinese food, I had fried sea food, coke floats, etc. etc. etc. And you know what? When I went for my pre-op, I did great until the took my blood pressure, all that fattening food, did me in !!!! My blood pressure was OUT OF SIGHT, I sabotaged myself, unknowingly. They canceled my surgery date...and I'm still trying to get my BP down. Praying for a December date.... please be careful of what you eat! -
Thank you, I will take ALL advice. Try to relax and take deep breaths before the nurse takes my BP. Have her take it more than once. BTW, the last time I went in, the Nurse seemed to be in a hurry, she let the air run out of the manual BP apperatice very fast, faster than I've ever seen. She seemed irritated that I wanted a manual BP reading. SO next time I'm asking for 3 different ones. I also want to talk to my Dr. about taking more than one pill a day, because I can tolorate these, and I have taken more than one. Lately I've taken on in the morning and one in the evening. The Doctor that approves for surgery requires, 4-5 readings under 140/ on the top level of the BP reading. THANKS again for your advice.

Yes I am on meds, Lotrel. Once a day. I woke up feeling drained, tired, with no energy. I took my meds, had a walk and felt better for a few hours. Now I'm feeling sleepy and tired again. It's only 3:42 pm. Yes, the Dr. that gives approval after all the Pre-op Tests, would not approve me with my Blood pressure being so high. It was 167/94 and that wasn't the highest, it's been. Once at work it was 208/110. I know that has to be bad. I really am trying, but the stress of it all it getting to me. I want this so badly and that seems to be keeping me from it. I have back problems as well, it is killing me today. I"m going to take a nap and relax.

My Highest weight was 245, I was miserable. That was when I did the atkins diet, and it got me to the 225. And I've creeped bay up to 235. I'm really down today, Trying to get my blood pressure down is not easy. I've been taking meds, walking, eating better, but I've not gotten below 140/88, that was my lowest reading. I went last week after sitting down at the automatic BP machines in a Local Pharmacy. It gave me great readings, I was so excited....then, I went for my offical reading at my Dr. it read 150/90. I was so deflated. I don't know what else to do. I'm taking Garlic pills, eating walnuts, everything I can think of to make it come down. Is there anything else I can do? Today I feel, weak, drowsy, no energy. What am I doing wrong? Will forcing myself to get up and take along walk help? The longer this goes on, the farther way I get from surgery, I just want to cry. I had a date....and it's gone. I could be in recovery right now, and maybe 20 lbs down. I'm soooooo, sad. I've got to get out of this funk. Something has got to change. I don't know what else to do. thanks for listening. Judy:blushing:

God WILL see you through, if you trust him to do it. Put your complete trust in him. Allow him to do his work. Pray, lots. Stick to your diet, do what you know you have to do. Everything will be alright. -
embarressing and kinda gross question
JudyJudyJudy replied to joon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel your pain, I too had them. I've had as many as 7 at one time, very painful, and they leave bad scares. I attribute it to the poison in my system from my uclerative colitis. Since I've been on medication those have went away THANK GOD!!! I hated for my husband to see them, I can't imagine what he thought. It was horrible. -

I have have excessive hair on my face. And this happened as I gained weight over the years. I either have to pluck my face, or shave. It is way too noticeable to over look. I don't have acne, but I have other problems, like bad razor burn bumps after shaving, especially where my thighs rub together. I have also had boils on my inner thighs, VERY embarrising, bad scares. They have gone away since I've gotten my ulcerative colitis under control. The boils could have been cause by the inflamation in my colon. I dunno, but I'm just glad they are gone. -

I'm confussed....didn't you understand when you got the surgery that you will never be able to eat like you used to? That is the entire purpose of the surgery, to stop old eating habits. It's like your rebelling against the surgery, by trying to eat things you shouldn't. Your body is telling you it doesn't want it, and that makes you angry, because You want it. I feel for you. I'm sorry your in pain. I think a counsoler is the best thing for you. I hate to see you hurt yourself. Try to stay positive, don't let your frustration, drive you to think you are going to gain wait. Don't wish that on yourself. Hang in there, get your counseling going, and things will get better. -
To those of you concerned, and thank you very much for your concern! Here are my numbers so far. 10/30/09 184/111 pulse 83 11/02/09 170/102 pulse 85 11/06/09 140/88 pulse 89 I just might get the December date !!! :001_tt2: I AM taking meds.

protein shakes-I'm going to starve!

I've bought the Jay Robb Choclate Whey protien powder mix. I've not tried it yet, but I have it. As a matter of fact, I've got everything I need. Pantry is stocked, fridge is stocked...just waiting on my BP to come down. SHould I try it now, because I know my taste will change after surgery, or at least that is what every one says. I have figured out why my BP was out of control. It was all the last suppers the week before my surgery date. what a HUGE mistake that was. I ate cheese dip (rotel and velveta) pizza, Fried Seafood, ice cream & coke floats, chocolate, donuts, ribs, fried chicken, you name it I had it. I was so stupid....didn't realize....what a mistake that would be. It knocked me right out of my surgery date. Won't do that again...EVER. I've been researching blood pressure, and OMG....I guess I've had it for years, but didn't know it, or didn't wanna know it. I've been to the Dr. many times because if it, but just assumed it was stress related. Never realized it was an ongoing everyday thing. Never checked it regularly. My father had High BP, so does my brother. I'm 100 lbs over weight, and have been for at least 25 years. It all adds up. I've noticed since I've been taking the meds, my hot flashes have almost disapeared. I've not had any headaches. And just feel better. I'm walking a 30 minutes a day, and trying to eat much better. -

I had been feeling good until tonight. When I got home tonight my heart was beating really hard. I didn't feel bad, I was just tired, and took an hour nap as soon as I got home, but that is not unusual. The unusual, part was I noticed that my heart was beating hard. I could feel it. I took a blood pressure pill and laid down for 30 minutes. I cooked dinner, and now I'm typing to you. I feel fine, my heart is still beat hard, but not as bad as it was. It's not as noticable as it was. So I'm taking it easy. -
Oh I'm so glad to here everything went well, for I am using Dr. Bellanger too. How are you doing now? I've not got my date back yet due to high blood pressure, but I'm hoping for a Dec. Date. I can't wait to see how your doing now..... Judy from Canton, Ms.
