  1. I am scheduled for my sleeve in Juarez, Mexico on 10/29/09, fly in on the 28th.... anyone know anyone else that is scheduled around that date and/or familiar with the Star Medica hospital or Dr. Jose Rodriguez? I am hoping there are others out there! Thanks
  2. Hello everyone --- I have been reading (and researching) this board for the past few weeks and thought I would take the liberty of formally introducing myself. My name is Jennifer and I'm 30 (31 in Nov) and will be sleeved on 10/29. I currently weigh approximately 188lbs and I stand 5'2 or so and looking to lose about 65lbs. This surgery is like a birthday gift to myself. Absolutely needing a real kick in self-esteem in the upwards direction. I am curious if anyone else around this time is headed to Mexico, specifically Juarez during this time. If so, I'd love to hear from you. Thank you, Jennifer
  3. Hi Dange25,

I wanted to check in to see how your pregnancy went? I believe I may be pregnant will find out in a week and I'm 3 months post-op. I am very curious of how your entire pregnancy went along with if you gained weight throughout the pregnancy and if so, how much and were you able to lose it after? I have already lost about 35 lbs post-op and only need to lose about another 22 lbs and severely concerned I will gain it all back and not be able to lose it. Anything you can tell me would be really appreciated. Please email me at jennifer.gustin@gmail.com

    Thank you,

    Jennifer

  4. Everyone, I feel like I'm severely screwed up. I had my VSG 10/27 and when I checked out of the hospital and waited several hours at the airport, I ate (sucked on for it to dissolve) 2 inches of a Milky Way, ate 2 runts (candy) and ate 1 gummy fish. Yes, crazy! It is now 11/1 and since I've returned home on 10/30 I've been doing the liquid diet but also eating tiny bites of this or that --- it's crazy. I just ate 10 salsa verde doritos and 8 mini oreos this afternoon! I am not throwing anything up nor do I feel nausea to help provide some sort of physical block for me to continue. What the hell? Am I the only one insanely crazy? I am so angry with myself. Regretting already having the surgery, it's apparent I have a major mental addiction and feel like I have to have this or that. I was desperately hoping to be like many of the other VSGr's where they had no inclination to eat anything unhealthy and/or even felt some nausea if they ate to much --- this would be tremendously helpful to me now during this recuperation period. Ahh, I am pathetic.
  5. Hi everyone, I am curious if and when pain subsided at the incision sites... I have 5 total, the 3 small ones and the two to the left of the abdoment (large incision site and the drain site) --- the large incision site is very painful... there does not appear to be any exterior infection, no redness, smell or leakage. If this is normal 1 wk out do you know when this pain might subside? Any help would be great. Thank you, Jennifer
  6. yah, my pain isn't stemming from the drain site. i just want to make sure its normal.
  7. I'm a lost cause... I just had a few small bites of my daughters Pepperoni Pizza (pizza hut) -- of course I'm chewing everything to almost a puree but still, this is crazy. Last night when I checked her Halloween bag, I believe I hate 3-4 mini candybars.... yes! Of course, I'm taking tiny bites but still. Ahhh, anyways I am starting first thing tomorrow (but boy, the first part of this sentence sounds like my typical broken record) --- But anyways, I'll start again tomorrow and try to work one day at a time and stick to the pure clear liquid diet just one day and then work on day 2 completing it. My frustration is I haven't stuck to the liquid diet in it's complete perfection AT ALL. I really want to do this successfully, my gosh I paid thousands of dollars out of my own pocket. I am severely screwed up. Maybe I just wasn't ready mentally for the surgery, I don't know. Anyways, tomorrow I will give my everything to start and complete 1 day of the clear liquid diet. Thanks for listening:sad0:

    I'm sleeved and at home!

Hi Shanda.... congratulations on your successful VSG.. I am curious as I am scheduled for mine 10/29/09 how do they check for leaks? You mentioned they took you down somewhere to check and you passed. Is this a difficult check? I am very fearful of MRI, Cat Scan machines due to my extreme clausterphobia so very curious how they scan you to ensure no leaks... any information you could provide would be helpful. Thank you.
