For those experiencing a stall........
jkrazed replied to nagaraj's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on the progress you have made!!! Your post let me know that I am not alone or losing my mind. I have been frozen on the scale for 4-5 weeks now. Fluctuating 2-3 pounds, but no real loss in over a month, but you have given me faith to try and be more patient.....thanks! -
A picture can speak a 1000 words....

Congratulations!!! Great progress....I hope to have that much gone after only 8 months. I'm in a freaking stall right now, hoping that it breaks soon? -
Congrats, keep up the good work!

How much weight had you lost apprx. 3 mths post op?
jkrazed replied to tennessee1031's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
50 days out and I am down 59lbs...so far. I would like to be down 100 by the summer, keeping my fingers crossed. -
I usually get a case of hiccups when I am full. First I notice that my bites are longer in between, and once I get to the point where I feel like I need to take a breath to continue...I will stop. The hiccups come a few minutes later as an indicator that I was right to quit when I did.

Does anyone feel like they are "starving"?

OK - That's IT! I am STILL not losing!
jkrazed replied to rcarter76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
rcarter, I understand your frustration...just keep your eye on the final prize! I too was upset for a week or two about the fact that my wightloss seemed to have stalled out, but then I realized that I was eating too many carbs and sugars. I was eating a lot more fruit than I had before, after I cut back on my fruit intake I noticed that my wieght loss engine seems to have fired back up again. Just keep reading these posts and tweaking your intake, you WILL find the right formula for yourself. Most importantly remember.....It took years to put this weight on, it will not disappear overnight! -
Weightloss surgery back in the day
jkrazed replied to amerigirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks for the info Tiff. I had been really wondering about the stretch capacity, not to sure what size my dr. went with (defenitely planning on finding out), but it's good to know that there is a max stretch capacity. -
Thanks, deedee. It is defenitely a challenge everyday. I tell everyone that anyone who thinks this is the easy way out...is outta their mind! Everyday is a struggle but watching yours, chancie's,and others progress is one of the things that remind me why we both did this and what the end result could be. THANKS!

Had surgery this morning
jkrazed replied to sarita's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats!! What ever you do make sure tomorrow you get up out of the bed as ssson as you can and try not to get back into until it is time to go to sleep. Once I got up on day 2, I spent time alternating between walking the halls, and sitting in a chair using the machine that you have to blow in to avoid blood clots. -
WOW! Like a whole different person, CONGRATULATIONS!!! It's great to see someone reaching their goals! Makes me see their really is a light at the end of the tunnel.

From what I have gathered...full liquid diet allows you to add SF puddings, thin oatmeal, Grits, etc....basically anyhthing SF that you could consume through a straw without of course using a straw. I too am not really hungry, but don't feel like I am getting enough sustenance throughout the day on a clear liquid diet. Unsweetened apple sauce can also be eaten during this phase. I figured one week, based on a surgery date of the 7th. But, of course most importantly everything must be tried slowly to make sure your body is ready for the change

I would like to thank everybody that posts on this forum for all the the great posts and advice that you provide. Not sure If I could have gotten this far without talking to others that are going through the same challenges that I am.....Thank You!

I was sleeved on Monday, and besides the night of had no real pain. Glad to see the shoulder wasn't just me...4 days out and I still have a lil discomfort in my left shoulder, but I've had none of the nausea issues and all in all feel pretty good. How long afterwards was it when any of you first started to notice changes in your clothes or weight?
-
rcarter 76....I was sleeved on Dec.7th, sent home on the 9th. So far I have been relatively pain free, and have been following the dr recommended SF clear liquid diet. Based on A LOT of research on both this forum and google, I have now decided too switch to a full liquid diet next week, and progress to a soft food diet the following week. Hope this helps?
-
LOL!! not on day 3 of course...but, I agree with u ....can't wait for some REAL food!
-
That is good to hear. I'm having the same problem with the Jell-O. I'm good with the water, the broth, and the popsicles. Thank goodness this forum exists....having this as a resource, and for advice has made this process so much easier. most importantly it is great to be able to compare notes with someone that is going through the same procedure.

Back home and feelin' good !
jkrazed replied to JudyJudyJudy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
based on what I've been reading, I'm really leaning toward going to full liquid next week. So far I haven't had any pain, and am planning going back to work on week 3. I really doubt that a clear liquid diet would suffice me going back to work now. -
Actually my wife was gonna pick me up some of those Special K Protein powder packets. I thought Milk would be enough, but the dr. recommended some type of protein supplement. Other than the stomach noises, any other hints as to what else I have to look forward to in the next few weeks??
