What is this pain? Help!
Timetofly replied to Genesis1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The sneezing comment is interesting, I find when I have been eating I get plugged up and start sneezing. Makes no sense to me at all and can't figure out why. It is really werid. Diane -

Two months post op today!!!
Timetofly replied to pumpkin07's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Awesome! Isn't it a great feeling to be getting smaller instead of the usual! Diane -
I had my sleeve on 2/8, and feel good. Physically I feel great, I am losing, getting off my meds .. but here is my question. I feel like I am unable to eat much at all. A few bites and I am uncomfortable. I understand about the restriction, obviously that is the point of of the surgery but I hear so many people say they eat what they want just smaller portions. I feel as though the entire "meal" I am struggling to get it in, It looks good, sounds good but when I go to eat doesn't want to go down. I don't know if this makes sense but would love your input. Is it still early out? Is 2 months to early to expect it to be easier? Thanks! Diane

Hi, I am probably not doing as good a job with that as I should. I am going to really work on those things to see if they help. Thanks for the advice! Diane

I am curious what you mean by the way the VSG is done? I didn't realize there was more than one way to do the surgery, can you tell me what you mean? Diane

Great job Lee! I have enjoyed watching your progress since we were both sleeved around the same time! Keep up the great work:thumbup1: Diane

thanks for all your replies! it helps to hear how others progress. I guess what I mean is that I can eat a little but I mostly feel like I struggle to get it in. I am hungry, it looks good but then as soon as I go to eat I have a hard time. I think I am getting the "normal" post surgery amount in, I guess what I am saying is I can't enjoy one bite of it. I feel like I am fighting with the food if that makes any sense. I am just going to scale back and eat the softer things that I know work or a while. Sometimes it almosts feels like air is going into my stomach with the food and I can't eat. I know this probably doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It is hard to explain. Thanks for always listening! Diane

I have tried those and they are good but I don't know if you will be able to drink them right away. My dr. said no because I had to be able to get the protein in abut 5 oz. of milk or water and those are pre measured. It may take you too long in the beginning to get that in. I had to use 1 scoop/5oz. so I would get 25 grams in each drink.

Eyes Still Bigger than My Stomach
Timetofly replied to FreeToBeMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too have that experience.. sometimes it feels like my head and my stomach just can't get it together. Most days I remember to eat slowly, chew alot - every once in a while I am just really hungry and eat too fast, or want more of something because it is tasting good and end up eating more and then I pay. Happened the other day, I was miserable for about an hour and then I am very concious for a while because I don't want it to happen again. I am hoping it will become natural to eat in my new way soon... Diane -

Want to track your progress? This is awesome
Timetofly replied to Tiffykins's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How cool! I loved seeing when I could actually be at my goal weight. Thanks for the info Diane -
I think that is a question for your doctor. I know each ones stats are different. Ask how many sleeves he/she has done and if anyone has died. My surgeon did have one death but the person had alot of other health issues when they had surgery.

Hunger...It Really Does Get Better
Timetofly replied to Keys Pirate's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So happy to read this post! I just posted yesterday asking about hunger. That is exactly how I feel. I eat this very small meal, feel like I can't eat another bite and 1-2 hours later I feel hungry. My surgery was 5 weeks ago so I am hopeful it will change. Thanks for posting Diane -
102lbs in a size 16 (coming down from a size 26/28 100 pounds ago)!

I have thought about that to try to make sure I am not just wanting to eat instead of needing to. It feels like an empty hungry feeling to me, thats the best way I can describe it. (I am on an acid reducer)

Hi! I went for my 30 day check up today and I am down 24 lbs. The dietician said it was slow considering I lost about 10 from the liquid diet before surgery. I was so depressed sitting in the waiting room waiting to see the surgeon. All I kept thinking was "I have sacrificed so much, had surgery, completed change my stomach" and I still won't do it? When the surgeon came in and asked how I was I told him a little bummed about such a slow weight loss and he said I am right on target. He said they consider your wl before surgery as well as part. Who is right a month out? I know we are all different but it is bothering me. I did not weigh until I went to the dr.'s today. I know people are noticing, I know 24 lbs is 24 lbs, but I want to be sucessful and considering I am not eating much at all it seems wrong. How much did you lose at your 30 days ? Thanks for your input Diane
