Oh man, I tried drinking a beer, made it about 1/4 of the way through the bottle and felt like my stomach was going to explode. I was so uncomfortable.

Kahuna, Get the surgery done and don't look back. I've lost 130 pounds since 3/09, had surgery 7/28/09. I am still able to eat all of the same things, just less. Like someone said, I feel like I'm now eating the amount "normal" people do. My favorite was Chinese buffets! Man could I pig out at them. Now instead of going to the buffet I'll order a regular dinner, eat about half of it (and half the egg roll) and take the rest home and have it for lunch, and sometimes dinner the next day. I think my dogs are the happiest because they usually get the leftovers after a couple days. I just feel so fortunate that I was able to get the VSG. I really think it will be the "gold standard" for weight loss surgery in the near future.

Just wanted to say hi. My name is Paul and I had sleeve surgery on July 28. I couldn't be happier. No pain, no nausea, no vomiting. Also down about ten pounds since the surgery. Haven't found many men who've had the sleeve. It will be nice to have someone to talk to.

Don...good luck with you surgery on the 25th. Please report back and tell me how things are going. Like I said earlier, I couldn't be happier. I had a boil under my arm last week and that thing hurt more the VSG surgery (by far). I am completly convinced that I had the right proceedure and I know your mixed feelings will be gone after the operation.

Hey burn....was glad to see this men's site and also glad to find some men posted as I've mostly found female VSG patients on some other sites. I had my VSG July 28 and feel awesome. No pain, no nausea, no nothing. I feel really lucky. Was 345 at my highest and just yesterday dropped below 300 (I didn't think it was ever going to happen). Just wanted to say hi and hope we can talk some time. Paul Kalamazoo, Michigan Surgeon: Dr. Alan Saber

Thanks everyone! KayKay, how's your husband doing? I was 345 at my highest (March 2009). Weighed 314 the day of the sleeve (July 28) just broke the 300 mark yesterday:blush: It didn't seem like it was ever going to happen. I meet with my surgeon for the first time tomorrow.
