I am also a self pay, our insurance wouldn't cover any weight loss surgery no matter how many co morbities I had. So I found a surgeon and care credit.com and just did the sleeve. Its been 2 weeks and I'm so happy I decided to go with the sleeve, its the best decision I have ever made!!!

    Final Bash?

I ate at all my favorite restaurants before surgery. It was my final farewell to things that are not good choices for me now. I say go for it!!! I look back and think how could I eat so much? I am 2 weeks post-op and I have no regrets about eating before surgery. I just have to make better choices now, I am down 25 pounds as of today and walking farther than I ever thought I could! So happy I had the surgery!

    August Sleevers

I am one week post op and 20 pounds lighter! I had a few complications but I am doing great now. Just tired cause I'm a belly sleeper and have to sleep on my sides and back. But no regrets at all, I am however ready to eat more than clear liquids. I am getting a little shakey! But I go to the doctor tomorrow and maybe he will advance me to liquids and I can have protein shakes and smoothies.....that will make my day. I get my stitches removed tomorrow as well. I will post more tomorrow after my 1st post surgery exam.:thumbup1: Thanks to everyone for your support, but a huge thanks go out to my husband who took care of me all last week. He is the best!!!:001_wub:

    My greatest new discovery

Hey all I'm home and exhausted!!!! Also my doctors nurse said she didn't think I was taking in enough liquids! How much should I be drinking a day? Its only been 4 days I thought I was drinking enough but apparently I need more. Ideas are much appreciated!!
  13. Glad mine is over too. I did have some complications with my asthma and my heart. But its all good now. I still have some weird discomfort where my drain was. I also retained some fluid, but that is better now too. I just want to say my doctor in wisconsin was amazing and so is his staff. Let me know how you are doing and when you go home! Take care its good to be on the other side!!!!!

  14. :001_smile:My surgery was this past Monday, and I thought it was just me that had this issue. You guys really help with a lot of my strange feelings since surgery! Oh and I'm off pain meds as of today. Also did anyone else have tape burns, after bandage removal? Those are terribly painful, if not for those and the asthma problems I be feeling really good, but really TIRED!

Excited to join the VSG club

:001_smile:I too am using care credit for my surgery. I have had many insurances and have always been denied. My surgery is Monday and I am on my liquid diet, after reading all these stories I am glad that I did not have the band. I thought about it and talked to my surgeon about it, but even he said there was a big failure rate. I don't understand why doctors are still doing band surgeries.:biggrin2:
