    HELP!! Vomiting after fill

You may have some swelling due to the fill. Or you simply might just be filled too tight. If you can't get liquids down, you probably need to have some of your fill removed.
  2. BTW: off topic for this particular thread... But the Lapband has been a God send to me. I used to wear a size 24 and now wear a comfy size 8. I'm a huge supporter of the Lapband even with complications that unfortunately happen to some and even with negative things I've heard about a lot of Bariatric surgeons in the U.S. and Mexico. I still think the Lapband helps more people than it hurts. And even though I would be devastated if I lost my band, I would be forever grateful that it has given me the past 3 years of living a much healthier and happier life.
  3. I totally understand about HIPPA. I work in the medical field. But I also know that we report certain things that happen to our patients to various government agencies, we are required to do so. This information is then made public so that if you wanted to check out a doctor, you could look up the information. It's kind of like a Better Business Bureau. No one could get fired for sharing this information because it's public record. I agree with you about if it's your opinion, then post that it's your opinion. My beef was that this was being posted as fact, and it was simply just her opinion. If it's fact, then it's easily backed up and would be beneficial to post it for patients that are researching Lapband Surgeons. If it's an opinion, then it just scares people unnecessarily. I think you and I are basically saying the same thing, but just going the long way around.
  4. Mindy, If responding to posts from you and others is beating a dead horse than so be it. My original post was a simple question. You keep posting various things about (sometimes) my original post so I keep responding. So I'm beating the dead horse? I'm just responding to posts. If you want me to quit posting then use your moderator power or just quit responding to my posts so there won't be anything for me to respond to you about. I personally enjoy chatting with everyone on here, even you. I think it's very interesting how people mis the meaning of posts and or misinterpret things written and have different views about things.
  5. She claimed she got the information from Dr. Rod, which is strange anyway. She doesn't have documented proof yet still makes the claim. I posted a long time ago about beating the dead horse, I see you're willing to help make sure there's no life left at all
  6. It's not relevant because if you're claiming that a surgeon has the highest erosion rate in the industry, then just supply the documentation that supports the claim. It would be public knowledge and so I don't see how someone would get fired for posting documentation that is available for anyone? This whole post has taken so many turns, I would rather I just stick to the question I raised which is to please provide me with documented proof or post it here for everyone to see. Very simple really
  7. Wow... that's kind of out there And non relevant IMO

    Long Time Bandsters Experiencing Problems?

starrgirrl, I'm sorry about the diagnosis of the slippage. I hope that they'll be able to reposition the band so you won't have to lose it. It sounds like you've got your mind in the right place, almost like a new start. Try to concentrate on not overeating until you have the surgery to see if you can shrink your upper pouch as much as possible. This may help the chances of saving your band. I'm very glad your husband is supportive. Sounds like a good opportunity for you both to start doing new things together. Good luck to you and keep us posted on how you're doing.
  9. jkpenny376 I respect your opinion, but I believe you have blown this way out of proportion I don't care about anything negative said about Dr. Rodriguez or any other doctor. What I specifically asked for is documented proof about Wasa claiming that he had one of the highest erosion rates in the industry. I specifically asked her to send it to me or to post it on this forum to give it validity. If it's accurate information, then please by all means post it! It's very simple. Sorry you don't see that, but I've actually enjoyed "chatting" with other bandsters about this issue. Because it's good to see that just because someone makes a claim, doesn't make it true or fact, on either side. Good convos.....
  10. jkpenny376 You say this has got to stop yet you promote people voicing their opinions? The bottom line of me posting in this thread is very simple and I'm not sure why I'm trying to explain it again but here it goes If someone states that a doctor has one of the highest erosion rates in the industry, they need to back it up with documented proof. I don't want to hear that "so and so told me" that's why it's true. I have never promoted any doctor in my posts. Nor have I knocked any doctor in my posts. I have plenty of negative things to say about several bariatric surgeons in Mexico and in the U.S. from research that I have done over the years, but I chose not to because I didn't have a negative experience with them personally. I've also heard negative things about your doctor, but you won't see me posting about them. To each their own IMO. The other crapola about flirting is just that....crapola..... But if gossip and gushie stuff is your thing then have at it.
  11. Good grief people. Please don't take everything you read on this forum as gospel. Bubblebutt made a comment that someone that went with her to get a fill made a comment that Dr. Rodriguez flirted with her. Geesh! Does that mean that he did? Who knows?! It's just hearsay and gossip so don't take it so seriously. Also, maybe this person that thought the doctor flirted with her actually thought that he did when he didn't. People perceive things very differently. Maybe she was just bragging or boasting that a doc put the moves on her, maybe she made the whole thing up.... Who knows, and who really cares?
  12. Again..... *sigh* Bubblebutt claims that when Dr. Rodriguez worked with Dr. Sanchez 12 years ago, that they removed a lot of bands due to erosion. Dr. Sanchez (not Dr. Rodriguez) placed a band that he had a lot of problems with (not erosion problems) Bubblebutt claims that Dr. Rodriguez himself told her that he had to remove several bands due to erosion. I agree with you, why would he say something like that? It's because he didn't. I'm not claiming that any Bariatric surgeon is perfect. Never have, never will. Just back up your "stats" with documented proof. Gosh, I feel like I've typed this like 20 times..... nothing like beating a dead horse, then kicking it again to make sure
  13. Christal, it was the same here when I was banded almost 4 years ago. Reading this board was driving me crazy because of all the conflicting reports. I learned to not pay attention to the rumors and people who had an obvious axe to grind about a surgeon. Someone gave me some good advice and told me to take everything I read on this board with a grain of salt and go with what you feel inside. And you're right, at least the band is reversible. :rolleyes2:
  14. You just proved my point You see, Dr. Rodriguez' stats aren't bad. My point is that you don't post "stats" without documented proof to back it up. Wasa claims that he has one of the highest erosion rates in the industry, well if he does, then where does this "data" come from? She claims that he told her that he and Dr. Sanchez used to work together (yes 12 years ago) and placed 350 bands that a lot had to be removed. There were several Bariatric Surgeons that worked together in Monterrey several years ago including Dr. Ponce. Dr. Sanchez had difficulties with a band that he used to place and did end up removing a lot of them, but it wasn't due to erosion. It's just a simple case that if you're going to try and tarnish a doctor's reputation by claiming a high erosion rate then back it up with documented proof, not by something you heard, it should be very simple.
  15. coltonwade If you're going to make accusations or claim something like a surgeon probably has the highest erosion rate in the industry then back it up with documented proof The thing is, bubblebutt says that Dr. Rodriguez told her this outrageous "stat" about bands that he didn't place. She just misunderstood or for a better term "misremembers" << have fun looking that one up and giving us all a "lesson" I also spoke to the Dr. about this issue and was told something very different then she remembers. Nice to have you join in the conversation.....
  16. Wow.... there are 3 people that I'm referring to, but the one you describe here sounds interesting, but again it's hearsay. Sorry you had such an enjoyable trip with this person.
  17. WASaBubbleButt I think you have some serious misunderstandings, but you have convinced yourself that what you say is gospel. Before making accusations about surgeons, like having the highest erosion rate it would be prudent to back it up with documented proof. Why would Dr. Rodriguez call you and say "Hey Bubblebutt, I have the most erosions in the industry! Please go post that on the public forums!" Just doesn't make much sense.....
  18. Well I have spoken with Dr. Rodriguez about your accusations. First off, maybe you thought he was inviting you to the Patient Reunion, but you must have misunderstood. Also, Dr. Sanchez placed 350 bands and did end up removing a large quantity of them, but not due to erosion. If you would like to try and get the real facts and since you're so close to all of these doctors and companies, you can call Dr. Ponce in Dalton. He was also a surgeon that worked with Dr. Rodriguez and Sanchez. So basically you're making incorrect accusations and you're sticking to it. Sounds "good" to me. It's a shame that you claim to help people when you are actually doing harm in some ways. I think you really could help people but for some reason you have grudges against some bariatric surgeons for whatever reason and you are trying to tarnish their reputations on a public forum. I guess I need to start saying that your Bariatric Surgeon is no good because your band was a failure? I guess I'll choose not to say anything bad about your surgeon because he isn't my surgeon and I didn't have a bad experience with him personally. We would all be better off if we wouldn't post things that we have no clue about or based on inaccurate hearsay.
  19. WASaBubbleButt I wanted to mention that I have heard "interesting" things about you from people that have traveled with you to your doctor for fills. I've heard things about you from other people on this forum, but does that mean that I post those not so nice things about you on this forum? No... The reason being? It's hearsay. I think you profess to be the research guru, which would be great if you would post facts and real stats (with documented proof) instead of claiming that your research is true without proof. You could help a lot of people and I think for the most part your intentions are good, but you're also doing harm with your false accusations and false reporting of what you believe are accurate stats based on what you're heard.
  20. Aaahh I see It's not real hard. If someone is going to throw out "stats" and accusations, they need to back them up with proof. Otherwise it just comes off as someone who has an axe to grind and is trying to tarnish someone's reputation because of it.
  21. I will ask Dr. Rodriguez myself because I have serious doubts about your "claims" Unless you have documented proof that Dr. Rodriguez "probably has the highest erosion stat in the industry" I wouldn't be posting it on forums. It's just hearsay and you're just putting doubt and incorrect information out there without any facts to back you up. Dr. Sanchez has been dead for a few years now and even when he was alive it's been years (like 12 years ago) that Dr. Rodriguez did any work with him. So even if what you say is true (which it isn't) it was 12 years ago.
  22. ?? I guess I'm not understanding your post?
  23. Can you please send me the information that you have that supports the erosion rate that you refer to with regards to Dr. A. Rodriguez? Or better yet, can you please post it here? Thanks

    Flying with Band

I have heard of this before, but haven't experienced it myself. I have found out however that I might be tighter depending on where I'm staying. I went to Lake Tahoe last year and was very tight for the entire week I was there. The only thing I can think of was the high altitude. When I returned home, my normal restriction also returned. The band can be very fickle at times.
