  1. :thumbup1: I'll tell him he was invited! LOL
  2. LOL! Well, maybe I can! I am much more of a "forum-er" than he is though. I post on 2 other (regular, NOT weight related) forums and I haven't managed to get him to join me yet on those. He does do Facebook! Yeah, I think a lot of this, though, will be important for me to know since I will obviously be the one helping him through this.
  3. Hope things go excellent:thumbup1: for you. My husband is scheduled to have the sleeve done here in Dallas this Tuesday. You guys will be starting about the same point.
  4. LOL:lol0: I hope this is typical.:thumbup1:
  5. Wow! I'm surprised. Even though it's usually done laparoscopically, quite frankly, excising a major part of the stomach sounds pretty painful to me. Glad to hear that at least for you all it wasn't.:thumbup1: We have personally known several people who have had gastric bypass and a couple who have gotten the lap band, but we don't know any personally who have done the sleeve. My husband rejected the idea of the band from the get-go and thought he wanted the bypass. His surgeon does all 3 and felt the sleeve would be best for him. And he liked the idea of the sleeve best.
  6. Thanks for the prompt responses. That sounds pretty promising, but, hey you guys may have a high pain tolerance! LOL!:wink0: My husband had heart surgery at age 51 ( 4 years ago, first and only surgery he had ever had, not counting tonsillectomy as a kid) and did fine with it, but they did a good job with pain control IMO. The pain and recovery was rough enough that it has taken him a long time to be willing to have surgery again though. Just kinda wondering how this might go.

    deinied what now

Praying for you, hon. In our own case, my husband's insurance did not cover any form of bariatric surgery, but the Lord seemed to make a way where there was no way in which we could do a self-pay for him to have the surgery. I just kept praying that if this was God's will for His life, that it would be provided for. (We were also in a position where we just couldn't see going into debt for it.) You should be be proud of your accomplishment in already losing so much weight from your starting point. You have done a good job. It could be that you can do the rest without the surgery. I would just encourage you to look to the Lord to provide a way for you, however that would be best for your life. Try not to get discouraged!
