I'm 3mos out since I've had my surgery, and I've been following the nutritional rules and guidelines that you're suppose to follow after having the surgery (except the protein shakes), but today I had a craving for something sweet :drool5:. This wasn't the first craving I've had, but this was the first one I acted on . I stoped at krispy kreme and had a donut, I feel bad; but honestly this is the first time that I've eatten something that I feel I shouldn't have. I'm not sure if I feel bad because I shouldn't have done it or I feel bad, because this is the first time I've allowed myself to a "treat". Is this bad? I mean don't get me wrong I'm not doing this all the time and don't plan on doing it again anytime soon, but I just feel so bad...... I feel like I'm sabotaging my weightloss, is this normal?

Yes I only had one.... It actually took me about 5mins to eat the one.... I told myself I would just eat the one free one they give you and walk back out, but when I got inside I felt bad about walking in for a free one and walking back out, so I bought two. When I got home I tossed them in the bread basket and I'm thinking about throwing them away.... Because I think the old "fat girl" that is still inside me will try to tell the new me to go back and have another one today..... I think it should be another month before I "treat" myself, Maybe I will for halloween?

How soon after "your" (anyone) surgery did you drink alcohol.... My good friend is leaving this weekend and is having a going away party at a bar. I really want to drink :confused1:, but I'm worried I might get sick while I'm out  and then ruin my evening..... My surgery date was 7/8/09.... Any advice?:drool5:

Sorry... Don't know what happened to my post.. Well from memory... I know exactly how you feel!! I had my surgery on 7/8/09 and I'm so sick of protein shakes and soup!!!!! I find it very hard to eat 4-6 times a day... One meal that I found myself liking was a mixture of can chicken, cream of broccoli cheddar, or cream of chicken, with sour cream. I'm currently on soft foods and I?m so bored with the selections of food that I can eat... but one thing I do look forward to; is as time passes every few weeks I'll be able to incorporate a new food back into my life.... Good luck with your journey and remember I'm going through the same thing. -
My surgery date was July 8th and since I've been home from work all I've been able to do is watch food network......Did anyone else experience this? On a side note I've also seem to be obsessed with the scale...(I use to hate to step on it!) now all I want to do is see weight loss. What kind of rate should I see the weight loss? Highest: 284 Surgery:256 Current:243

Thanks.....I've made a decision to try and stop watching it, because I'm starting to think the reason I've been watching it so often is because I'm grieving food (I don't know if you can actually do that), but I refuse to grieve over something that was killing me. And YES Paula Dean is the worst!!! Everything she makes I love, but I just keep reminding myself that her figure is not the one I want anymore.
