Blab To Everyone, Or "close To The Vest?"
kmwheel replied to ArcusX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have told WAY more people that I thought I would since I've been back. Only my husband and best friend knew prior to surgery because I didn't want people judging me or giving their "opinions" about going to Tijuana for the surgery. But...since I've been back, it's like my mouth just runs and I've told quite a few people...#1 because I'm so flippin' excited about the whole thing (28 lbs. in 3 weeks?? crazy!!) and #2 because I am that type of person who doesn't mind sharing if it can help someone else feel better about their decision. The only one who gave me any grief was my mom, but she was just mad because "what if something happened" to me? Other than that, I've received many kudos and supportive comments! I say do what feels best but don't let anybody else get down on you for decisions you make for your body and self. -
Subdermal Incision Site Knots
kmwheel replied to delta_girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same knots! So glad to know they will go away, but they don't really bother me. I just figured they might be there forever. Thanks! -

As The Stomach Rumbles....
kmwheel replied to cmaloney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had it when I was giving a test...it was deadly quiet. I just figured that maybe it sounds a lot louder to me because I can "feel" it, too? I don't think the kids noticed. -
Just Wondering....has Anyone Reached Goal Without Any Exercise?
kmwheel replied to Sassafras's topic in Fitness & Exercise
So far I am only walking and doing Tai Chi. I walk with my husband, and that's our time to talk. I really miss it in the wintertime when it gets too cold to go out. I'm not a huge workout person, but I have some little hand-weights and I like doing the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds videos when it's too cold to go outside. I'm actually pretty clumsy, so walking or marching is about my upper limit. -
The Best Weight Lost Compliments Ever!
kmwheel replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am so thrilled for all of you and loving the compliments from my hubby as I'm slimming down. We are walking faster and harder, and I can't wait to start working out more together. My hubby's in the Army and very fit, so it feels good hearing it from him. -
Am I Doing This Right?
kmwheel replied to Wheatie65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not very far ahead of you, but a lot of people have said that you won't feel "real" restriction until you start on solids. I'll be interested to hear what everyone has to say. Sounds like you're doing fine! -
Haha, I know that feeling. Can't wait to wear regular sizes everywhere!

I'm Down In Tj With Dr. Kelly
kmwheel replied to CCCross's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
The nurses couldn't find a vein on me either...I think it was because they took my right in for surgery after my flights and I was completely dehydrated. I'm glad Omar was there to help, he's a great guy. He must be used to the meltdowns by now (I had a huge one when they couldn't find a vein)! I bet you will be feeling a lot better once you get out of the hospital and to the hotel. Keep us updated! -
Surgery Was 10/4... Complications
kmwheel replied to BMartin005's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
So glad you are doing better. Sounds like your body had a crazy reaction and then got its stuff back together! You are doing great if you're already walking your neighborhood. Welcome to the loser's bench! -
I like both, but I really like the egg beaters southwest style (it has little bits of red and green pepper in it) with some sauteed onions and 2 TBSP. of low fat shredded mexican cheese. Regular egg beaters are too bland for me.

That is really cute!! Love the cut and the smile.

Just Want To Say "thank You"
kmwheel replied to abetterme4.2's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Wow, I am so excited for you. I had about the same experience...never really heard of having the surgery in Mexico until I stumbled on this site. I was denied by insurance, too...after I lost 20 lbs. for the doctor (required) and they said I didn't weigh enough. I had tried to explain this to the doctor, but they don't really listen. Anyway, sleeved 9/15 and down 28 lbs. so far. It was the best decision I ever made and well worth the money. Best wishes on your journey. I'm sure you think that January can't come soon enough, but it will! -
Questions About Post-Op Flight Home
kmwheel replied to AngelEyesInNJ's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Did you request wheelchair help? Nope, I had already walked about 3 miles round-trip from the hotel to the mall in Tijuana...didn't need a wheelchair. I don't see why you couldn't ask though, if you didn't feel good. Did you board before others? Nope...my husband was with me and we boarded with everyone else. We had two flights home and had to pretty much book to get to the second flight. That took a little bit out of me, but the flight was fine. Did you feel sick or get sick at all on the plane? No, not at all. I was much more happy on the flight home because I could drink fluids. I sipped my G2 and distracted myself with movies on my tablet. Here's a disclaimer, though. I don't generally have a woozy stomach, so this felt pretty much the same. If you do, I'd be prepared with some kind of anti-nausea meds. -
I love mapmywalk...but my only problem is that it can only track outside walks and it's getting cold where I live. But it's a great app!

I don't have a Striiv, but I saw it at Target. It was a little under $100. Looked pretty cool, but I already ordered the newest Fitbit.

Sleeved Wednesday, 10/3/12....
kmwheel replied to UTGal99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Almost identical experience here. The only pain was at incision sites, walked right away...the leak test was horrible (tasting, but over with quickly). I have had some minor bouts of nausea in weeks 1 and 2...didn't throw up, just got a little light-headed. So glad you had a great experience!! -

Pcp Agrees With Me About Needing Wls!
kmwheel replied to jenjen82's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so glad your PCP is being supportive! She sounds like a wonderful doctor. -
Yes, I have had that same feeling several times! I heard it was from the hormones as we're burning fat. I forgot my water in my car this morning and had to go out to get it. By the time I got back in, I was sweating like a hog...I wasn't running or anything. I like to just think of it as more fat burning...I'm like a fat-burning oven, lol! I think it's supposed to get better, but I am only 3 weeks post-op, so I don't know much. I hope it gets better for you soon!
