Bad day today...... I FORGOT to eat!..... all day! I had my coffee and protein as usuall, but after that things got away from me. I bought a new stove and had to have someone come out and hook up the vent hood, and I had my dryer he had to fix, and then I was in the middle of cleaning house, and yes, it just got away from me. So I remembered, and took some chiken and brocolli out and I tried to eat, was good going in, but 10 minutes later.......I vomited it all up. it was HORRIBLE !! Think it was because I waited so long to eat??? I didn't eat too fast....... ( HONEST!! ) But, man it was gross!!

Went back to my PCP on Monday...... He was soooo Proud of me! Everything was GREAT... except for my Choleserol.. it's 21 points over normal. He does not want to put me on meds and I don't want to be on them. He suggested more exercise:crying: and for me not to expect a big change in just 3 months, says it would take at least 6 months if I worked at it...... yuck... hate to exercise!! He didn't seem overly concerned with it, because everything else is normal! I go see my sureon on the 12th so will be curious as to what he has to say regarding this too.

I've Lost All Desire to Eat!! Please help!
Chancie replied to LAN2k's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hi Joon- I use body Fortress whey Protein CookisN'Cream- I found it at Wal-Mart and I use it daily in my coffee. They also have a protein shot ( body Fortress) that I also found at Wal-Mart. It only comes in Fruit Juice flavor, but I like it reall well... no vitamin taste. The first Protein shot I tried was from Profect... that I got on line and I don't like it at all! Yucky vitamin aftertaste... but I used it until I found the Body Fortress ones. -
Protein powder with no sucralose?
Chancie replied to newmom's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I use body fortress Whey Protein.... I just read the label and couldn't find any of those ingredients you listed, it has 23 grams of protein per scoop... when I first started out I thought it was too sweet, and I use it in my coffee now... g'Luck! -
Had to pipe in here too.... This is something YOU want to do, YOUR decision, YOUR body, YOUR future, YOUR health. Granted, being in a relationship it's good to have discussions and common goals, but this doesn't sound like whats happening in your case. It sounds like he is being controlling...... and YOU have to choose your own destiny. Sometimes in a controlling relationship you lose "yourself"... find YOU again and make up your own mind. Do your research, and decide on your own.

Linda- You are so right- you don't realize what our kids absorbe!! My kids are older, and the first time my youngest son saw me was 6 months after my surgery and I had lost over 100 pounds- He came home and he Actually cried! I was almost afraid... I asked him he thought I looked sick or something, he just replied..... I wasn't expecting such a change!! And speaking of kids and a NSV moment....... Several of my kids friends hadn't seen me since my surgery, and he had been home here for the past two months, well....... I finnaly saw two of them...... the one came in the kitchen, and I could see the look in his eye and the double take and the big smile and then I got "WOW........ LOOK AT YOU!!!!!!!!" A big hug and kiss followed and I was touched! The other kid I saw while I was working..... samew thing....... double take and just the look of Surprise! Big hugs and a kiss there tooo!!:001_tongue: My kids never commented on how big I was, I know they loved me regardless of my size, but I'm sure I was an embarresment to them, altho they never would say it. So seeing these reactions really makes me smile!!

Ha- who doesn't want to reply to this??? Not me..... I'm proud to say that in 17 days ( I just looked in my journal) I lost 28 pounds!! 1 month out- I lost 39 pounds- but don't forget- I had ALOT of weight to lose! I Only "dreamed" of being at this place I am right now, not thinking it could be a reality! I started this journey not even knowing what size pants I was- all I use to wear was "stretch" pants of a 4-5X and now am in a size 14!!! WOOO HOOO!! You can do it toooooo!!!!! -
1 month out - feels like day 5 again...
Chancie replied to barefootinablacksea's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WOW- you've been thru alot, but at least now you know whats going on and you're on your way to health. And it was caught early, so thank goodness you are safe and in good hands. Think of the hospital as helping not hindering... INO it's difficult, no one wants to be hospitalized.... Keep us posted, and hope things continue to get better.... Thinking of you!!! -
I've Lost All Desire to Eat!! Please help!
Chancie replied to LAN2k's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Lan- Yes- I went thru this too. Do you have different protein powders that you can try>? you do need to get in your protein and your fluids. I still to this day CANNOT eat breakfast, and was getting tired of cold protein drinks in the morning- so I found a cookies and cream protein powder that I use in my coffee-I didn't start drinking coffee again until about 6 months out. But at least I was getting in 50 grams of protein in the morning.( two scoops split up into 3 cups of coffee) I was one of the ones that had a difficult time eating food- so just experiment- things that you once loved you may not like so much now and visa versa- I also found some protein shots with 100 cal.-0 fat, 0 carbs and 25 grams of protein. that helped me along. Good luck -
Hi Paula and CONGRATULATIONS on your date!! Lots of friendly helpful people here, am sure you will find all the answers you need.... read read read! You'll do just fine!!

Only 1 step left....Surgery!
Chancie replied to kelly17's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Kelly and welcome and CONGRATULATIONS!! You have ligit questions and normal fears, but let me tell you this from personal experience-I didn't believe it either about not wanting to eat foods I once loved. My highest weight was 373- so you can take it from there- I LOVED food. It doesn't consume you like it once did after being sleeved. I think the weeks prior to surgery was the hardest for me- thinking I need to eat this now because I won't be able to eat it afterwards. But eventually you can eat things again, just not in larger quanities. Now my focus on food is healthy- I try to plan my meals, and I try to eat 3 X's a day. You'll be just fine!! Mona and free- CONGRATULATIONS to both of you too!!! Can't wait for alll of you to be on the losers bench with us!! -
An Article I just read on OH re: VSG and Leaks
Chancie replied to LAN2k's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lan, I'm no doctor, but maybe because of all the changes you are going thru, all your worries are being focused on something that is actually "there". Yes, you had a major surgery and you made it just fine, but now your focused on the 'what ifs' I'm sorry you're going thru this. But you CAN do it, and it's comforting to know you are seeking help for it. Continue being the strong person you are!! You're in my thoughts and prayers, it's not easy being alone, I had my surgery alone and it is difficult, no one I could share my feelings with except my journal and now this group which has helped me soooo much! Good luck to you! -
I can't help you either. Even tho I was a self pay I had some stocks I sold to cover my dept. I didn't want to go thru loans and payments etc. and I got a good deal paying in cash.

first time barfing...
Chancie replied to Bob_350lbs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still struggle with the "full" feeling. And eating because I KNOW I HAVE to eat, even when I have no hunger. Thats kinda strange for a gal like me... I ate just to eat alll the time. I have good days and bad days with the knowing of my limits... some days I can take that last bite, and it swells in my mouth and I CAN'T swallow, I have to spit it out. I dn't know which is worse Bob.....the slimes or the actual vomit.....It almost scares me when It happens now...... -
My doc, Nut and support groups all say no carbonation... I'm following this rule- a personal decision because I have such an addictive personality. Just like Pasta, bread and rice- I stay clear of it. I use to be a bourbon Gal- with coke. I have had a few drinks- but with Vodka and crystal light orange... was ok... had it being "social"..... but no buzz and not the same. So..... I don't think I'll be drinking much. I have had a few glasses of wine too, not too bad... It's all on personal choices we make.

Congratulations on your surgery and welcome to The forum and to the Losers bench!!! Just listen to your body and things should go smoothly! Again- Congratulations!!!

Hey Judy! I'm just glad that you found out early-prior to surgery. You know what to do now, and it's just a temperary set back. You sound like you have a plan and that you're not quiting!! Good for you! Thinking of you!!

9 months out and it still happens to me. And you explained it perfectly- you can almost feel all of it travel up your esophogus - not pleasant at all!! It usually happens when I eat too fast, I still have to work on that. Some habits are hard to break:w00t: -
