Hope- It just gets better and better!! I'm glad you're off to a good start!! Lots of people can't eat the sweets- but I can ( not good either) I was never a real sweet eater, but now- especially at that time of the month...... I AM!! Best advice I can give you- is just don't even "try" them lol..... it is my biggest weakness! Good luck on your journey!!

    December 7th!!!

Congrats to you both!! It's great that you two have each other to compare notes with! It makes it much more reassuring that it's "normal"... if there is such a word!! Welcome to the losers side!! Glad to have you!!
  11. Hi Bored... and welcome to VST!! I'm now at 196... I'm in a 14 and it amazes me.... I've lost the weight differently- because at this weight before... I couldn't wear a 14. I'm 5'8" and I think 140 might be tooo skinny- but will cross that bridge when I get to it... I'm shooting for goal of 160. If I can lose more.... I probably will... But I've had to have that same discussion at work... all you have seen me at is BIG.... I was at one time smaller... but they don't know me that way and say I am getting tooo skinny... how is 196 tooo skinny>??:biggrin0: Glad to have you here....... and welcome!!

    cooking for one?

Can I come tooo Donna????:biggrin0: I have no shame do I??? lol You are sooooooo resoursefull!! I am not a good cook.. my mothere wasn't a good cook either... so I really had no one to learn from. When I moved to the south, my mother-in-law taught me how to cook.... but all this fattening, greasy food, and thats where the weight really started coming on. Learned how to make a mean biscuit w/gravey Fried chicken, chicken and dumplins- she was a GREAT cook!! But not the healthiest!! I still havn't tried your lentil soup yet- it's on my "to do" list!! Thanks for all your tips- you could probably start your own thread....." Donna's Recipes" ( hint-hint- hint ) HUGS!!!
  14. Glad you're up and about ML!! The nausea is awful- but like you said at least you're not vomiting.... I had alll of it- nausea vomiting and dry heaves.......... Ugggggggggggggggg!! I don't know about the Water masss- you have a scale that tells you this??? Just sip sip sip alllllll the time!! Glad to have you amongst all us losers!!!:lol0:
  15. HI Lan- I don't notice any side effects at all- and like I said I don't use it very often, but I carry a pill case in my purse with that and my daily Vitamins for just in case I forgot them, and the nexium for just in case I need it.
  16. Nope- you're not the only one Daisy- I struggle with chocolate on a daily basis!! I can eat more of that than I can regular food!! And I also drink both cold and room temp water- but I can't drink plain Water, I have to have crystal lite in it- should buy stock in the stuff!!

    Complications

Hi Bonnie- Welcome to VST and the boards!!! I'll be 10 months out on the 9th- and I have to tell you- being where I am now the little bit of trouble I had in the beginning is just a thing of the past! My surgery went just fine- but I was one of the few that had aterrible time with vomiting and nausea right after surgery- I ws hospitilze for 5 days due to it. But it seems most here are home in 2-3 days. My Nausea continued to my 3rd month or so. If I ate too much or to fast I would vomit as well. And it still happens- but I think its a good thing to remind me how to eat! Other than that- no problems!! I'm down 158 pounds to date- No way this could have happened without the sleeve! I LOVE my sleeve and the new life it gave me! Good luck to you in your decision! Keep us posted

    Fat free vs. fat????

I used the EAS drinks right out of surgery- I had no problems whatsover! You might want to ask your surgeon and his nutrionist if this is on their plan- was on my docs. But my doc also didn't have me on a pre-diet either- just two days prior-

hi Barbara- Same here as Tiff- not a petient of his and no sutures either.... someone will be along to answer your questions.... seems like Dr.Aceves is a busy man!!!
  20. Congrats Bbell!!!! Wonderful success so far!! I too was one of the "heavy weights " here- I lost 100 pound in less than 4 months as well! Things do slow down, but am still making good progress! Isn't it just wonderful- the energy- the "shopping" lol and the HEALTH! Good luck to you on the rest of your journey!

    Monday Morning Weigh In

AJW- I go thru this ALOT....up 1 pound.. down 2.. etc... thats why I choose to weigh daily- to keep me on track. I had my Thanksgiving last Sunday- was up a pound that Monday... but this week I have stuck with it... and started losing again! PS My BMI is now 29!!!! I'm OVERWEIGHT! Not OBESE!!
  22. Chancie

    Did you tell?

I'm with stoongal- I wanna yell it from the rooftops!! I'm glad I made the decision to be honest from the getgo.... mainly because I KNEW I had a lot of weight to lose! And I was thinking "POSITIVE" that it would come off fast- and it has!! I've had people look at me questionably at first... but now.........They can SEE such a transformation! I have a few at work that always wannna talk about my "butt" ( ar lack of one) All in good fun- but can see some of the jealousy in a few that can't believe I am in a SMALLER size than they are:001_tongue: Guess you just had to see me before to understand... I can understand it, because I NEVER dreamed I would be this size!
