Hi Jeff:biggrin0:,
Thanks for sharing your story.
The first thing that I got out of it is your bravery.
It is definately an advantage to you that you are so young ( I myself am only 27yrs old and 338lbs)
I wish you nothing but the best for your surgery.
Just go for it, I am pre op too, but I know it will be one of the best decisions Ive ever made in my life.
You sound like rather than dwindling on your weight you are just getting on with things and have a positive attitude.
Its so easy to wish our lives away sometimes and dwell on what could have or should have been.
I hope the sleeve works really well for you, and who knows! you may not need to have the DS or RNY afterall.
I have seen some amazing success storys from people of all weights, shapes and sizes. And all different kinds of surgerys including VSG.
At the end of the day these bodys are our shells, its the people on the inside that really matter, Obesity is an illness as much as any other addiction.
You can beat it - lean on forum support.
Its where I have found alot of support from people who know exactly what I am going through, and can offer all the post op advice too.
You are lucky if you manage to have your surgery paid by insurance or whatever.
Here in New Zealand we have scarce public funding, and a very pitiful insurance contribution.
I will be forking out around $20,000NZD of my own money as I have neither funding nor insurance.:scared0:
But I know that when I get my life back, and get my control back, the price of the surgery will become invaluable.
Heres to our future Jeff, at this stage I see nothing but a very bright one! please keep us updated!
