OK guys I need a male point of view. I am ten days from being banded. So far everything is going well. I am tired of the clear diet, but I'll make it. I have lost 25lbs and I haven't had a fill. Here is my question: Last night my 16 son decided it was time to take me down. Teenage hormones and obeying the rules. He was physically on me before I knew it. Trying to use my youth and old age ability to cheat, the whole thing was over in a couple of seconds. My athletic ability kicked in and I do not think I strained my self too much. Now by doctors orders we are to avoid any strenuous activity so we will not pull the stitches holding the band in place. So far physically I feel fine. I did not hurt anything and do not fell I hurt my stitches. Could I have pulled the stitches and not know it? Oh the joys of fatherhood.

Joe, What is "neals websight?" You mentioned it in your note. I was banded April 16. It has not been too bad. I lost 20 lbs in both pre and post diet. I will not have my first fill until May 14. I might start chewing my fingers just to have something to chew. Phil

I got banded Monday morning April 16. I never was a sweet eater. All of the shakes, puddings, Jello, etc are getting to me. I enjoy the broth, in fact I look forward to it. I was never much of a soup eater, but now I crave it. How long do these stupid cramps last? :hungry:

In a skirt, I thought this thread was for guys? Hey I have a question. I have five days until I get banded. That means five more days on this pre-op diet. I just read on another thread that some splured on their last day before being banded and had one last meal. Is that normal? My doc. has said nothing like that.

I understand, my date is April 16. I am on the pre-op diet too. Last night I dreamed my wife sent me out to get hamburgers for the family, I don't think I have ever dreamed about food before. Somedays I wonder if anyone eating normal food is safe if they come within reaching distance. We can do it. Others have gone down this road before us. We know it is possible because their victory stories are all over this sight. :faint: -
Hey guys I don't get banded until next Monday. My goal is not far off of yours. I will be a month behind, but I would love to get into the comp. with a couple of guys with experience of where I will be going. Phil

Well it looks like I have a new flock. Kristy since you asked, "Whatsoever you do do so for the glory of God." If you are doing this so that you can give him the glory for it. If you are doing this so that you will learn to depend more on Him. If you are doing this that you can share His strengh that you gain later. Then my answer would be it is not sin. If you He led you to do this and you did not, that would be sin. My wife and I were on the mission field for 14 years. I could not have made it physically in the condition I am now. If I ever return, I hope I am not the size I am now. "So we walk by faith not by sight." I am not what I was neither am I what I am gong to be, because He began a good work in me and will not be finished until he is ready. OK there is my Sunday evening sermon. It is good to have you guys out there to help lift me up. This is not going to be easy. However, we are to hlep carry each others burdens, so lets stick together and lift each other up to Him who can and will carry each of us through this. -

7.5 days to go. My wife and daughter offically told me a few hours ago, that after 7:00 my full moon comes out and I become a werewolf. This is not good for a man who is a pastor like myself. I guess it was good that I we canceled services tonight for Easter. A werewolf in the pulpit could be the starting for a good movie. My daughter was very hesitant, but quickly agreed with my wife. If it was not for the encouragement from you guys, my wife would be looking for a new pet. Her boston terrier looks better every minute past the hour of 7:00 Hanging with the rest of you. :faint: Phil -

:help:Did you have the hernia operation at the same time you had the lap band put on? I am scheduled for Lapband April 16. I have a hernia too. I have been told a couple of things. The herian was discovered during my physical. The doctor said there would be no problem. Some of the material I have read said I will have to stay in the hospital a few days longer. I have also been told that there will be only one stich. What can you tell me? Phil -
