I had a horrible post op experience-adverse reaction to the post surgery pain meds. I'm home now. Can't sleep. Can't eat (obviously) more than 3 T of any broth. Sore sore sore.... At least I've lost some weight.

I am at my marriage weight (179)..that means 7 pounds since my surgery on the 10th!?!? Am I not eating enough? I finally got some sf popsicles yesterday. Been doing mostly K2O protein water all day and broth for meals..albeit 1/8 cup of broth....

I found this cytomax drink at the store. I tastes pretty good and has 40 grams of protein. I still haven't finished it. I can't eat any more than that w/o feeling sick and I'm scared of leaks. Monday I start full liquids.

Yeah..I was 186 on the day of surgery and still at 186 when I left the hospital. I didn't start losing until after leaving the hospital. I'm pretty sure it will slow down when I start on full liquids. I just don't want to lose muscle, so I walk for at least 30 mins (slowly) a day....:thumbup1:

I'm glad to be alive, too! I just don't want to lose muscle. I found a Water at the store yesterday that has 40 grams of Protein. I haven't tasted it yet..I hope it isn't gross! LOL

Welcome home! I just got back yesterday. And why is it that you can drink Protein shakey stuff but I'm on Clear liquids?????

my insides are sore and just a general uncomfortableness (is that a word!!!? LOL) they did give me some pain meds that kinda help, but not as much as I'd like.. ;-P i'm thinking of trying the benadryl tonight..i have the pills and i've been taking my other pills well oh, i've been sipping on a huge bottle of H2OK with Protein all day long since i've been out i really had a bad experience but i kinda feel like i shouldn't type too much about it because i don't want to scare anyone..kwim? sorry no caps..too lazy here

What stage are you at? I've been thinking a lot about doing the PB thing. I love PB and it has a good amt of protein, no?

I'll be back to update after the 14th (when I get back). I'm getting a little discouraged. Since I 'only' need to lose 71 pounds, it seems it will come off slowly. However, once it comes off it will STAY off. I am jumping the gun...I know. My body confuses me so much. This whole past 2 weeks I've been in ketosis and only lost 10 pounds. One day I'd gone down to 13 pounds lost, but then it went back up!?!?!? :scared0:

I fly to Puerto Vallarta in 3 1/2 days! I'm starting to get nervous..... Mostly about the FLYING! LOL Hope everyone had a fun 4th :thumbup1: I bought some yummy Protein drink mix at GNC. They let me taste it! It came in a huge blue bottle/canister...50.00!! But if that's my sustenance for about a month? That's NOT much:biggrin0:

How scary! I wish I knew if I would have a reaction. The only anesthesia I've ever really had was demerol and an epidural with all my kids.:cursing:

OMG and I know when I do it's gonna make me laugh and then THAT will hurt.

Okie doke.. I did buy the GasX strips. Gosh, I really don't want to be farting like crazy in front of my mother in law...does the gas come out? I totally expect to be nauseous and in some pain post surgery. Where do you put the heating pad?

Max Protein from GNC was pretty good. The CA let me try it today.

Susan, no..it's not my first time. It's my first time w/o any family, though. I feel more vulnerable alone? LOL How silly, no? And too bad we can't take anything that day before surgery (if we have to fly that day). VA, how frustrating for you!!! I'm so sorry :scared0:

VA, It's Max Protein. Is that a bad one? I tasted good and the CA told me that ready made drinks have a lot of sodium.
