Hello,
I'm new here and I've been through what you are going through many times. I'm over a year out and I'm down 117 pounds. I hate the protein shakes and in the beginning I would vomit from drinking them because they grossed me out. The only kind that I can tolerate is the Body fortress brand chocolate flavor at Walmart. I mix mine with 8 oz. of 1% milk and I stir it up and this sounds gross but I let mine sit for a while before drinking it. I still can't stand it but I know that in order to get enough protein I have to drink one per day. Today I had for breakfast 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and 2 pieces of string cheese. For Lunch I had 1/2 cup of tuna with a little miracle whip and some mixed veggies. For snack I had an apple and one piece of string cheese. Supper 3/4 cup of Hormel chili. Snack slice of cheese. Then I had a protein shake. 64 oz. of water and now I'm eating 2 pieces of string cheese. I don't count fat grams I eat as much cheese as I want. I don't count calories either. My secret to success with this surgery has been cheating all along. I cheat about every 3 - 4 days then I get back on track and start losing again. I just started eating fruit because my blood sugar started to drop and I had vision changes so now I have to eat more complex carbs. I love carbs but they zap me of all my energy. I feel great as long as I follow my diet. Don't beat yourself up you can get back on track. You are human and still need to enjoy the same foods you enjoyed before but now you just have to stop yourself before it gets out of hand. I hope this helps. Lisa
