5 months and over 100 lbs down and I eat a banana every day. there's a huge difference between carbs in white bread and carbs in bananas. Yes, they are given to people who need to gain weight because of the NUTRIENTS in them- the same nutrients we still need. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Why Do We Lose Our Hair?
circa replied to ooffa511's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sittin here right now at the salon. I thought I lost enough hair to make wigs for a village of bald pygmys. My stylist says "man you have a lot of hair! " and he saw me before too. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Sooooo Ticked! Should I Laugh Or Cry! Bmi 39.18!
circa replied to Silly Phylly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think it's a bad idea to ever sabotage yourself to get what you want. That being said, drink the Water before, leave your shooed on, pockets full of change, etc. the metformin IS enough for BCBS in most cases. I know several people approved as pre-diabetic. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Walking is the best answer. Bending, moving side to side, anything to keep the body moving will get the gas out. Its also just good to keep moving -
How Much Should I Lose?
circa replied to Aug2ndsleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
don't focus on a number necessarily. Those numbers were decided on by an insurance company, not a doctor. Yes, its important to be within a normal BMI range, but everyone's body is different. More muscle is going to up your weight but give you a lower bmi than if the mass you had was fat. You should be healthy and comfortable with your body. -
The Cons Of Gastric Sleeve Life! :-(
circa replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Been sleeved for nearly 6 months and haven't found a downside yet. Loving it. -
Oh my god does it feel good to be back in jeans! Haven't worn these in 4 years! I think they're an 18 or a 20- didn't care to look, just found them and remembered them to be comfy! I haven't been able to find jeans that fit - always too big somewhere or too low hanging of a crotch or something - back to men's jeans I guess! Always found them more comfy! Omg I Just Ate Cake 8 Days After Surgery

Don't wait for the willpower to kick in- this is your life we are talking about, not just being unhealthy and miserable. You actually CAN kill yourself by doing things like this. If you rupture your suture line, that's going to be hell. Think of yourself and your family. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Don't ever allow anyone to control you. Being in a relationship so you don't have to be alone is the worst thing you can do. I'm guessing you don't love him, but you love the idea of what you thought he might be and you don't want to be alone. Drop all the dead weight- especially him. If you aren't getting emotionally and mentally healthy too-, then what is the point of trying for physical health? It won't work if you don't have all 3. Sent from my iPhone using VST

End Of Week 3 And Up 1 Pound !
circa replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A woman's weight can fluctuate 9 lbs through a day just due to Water retention. That's for an average size woman. Stay the hell off the scale. Do what you are supposed to be doing and stop living by what a machine with a 2 dollar battery in it says. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Obviously your body is t ready for purees- go back to full liquids and try again in a few days. Wishin you were fat forever isnt going to make things better. Stop looking back and start looking forward. you didn't learn to ride a bike or tie your shoes the first time you tried either. Remember that you eat so your body has fuel. You don't live to eat. First of all, keep talking, even if she doesn't - either she will start to understand , will start to ask questions so ahe can understand and will also start talking or she won't. But you have to do your part. Secondly, this pregnancy is not tearing you apart, tye lack of communication is. Someone who doesn't take their pill isn't someone who doesn't want to get pregnant- at least somewhere deep down. Thirdly, your loving situation sucks. Change it as soon as you are able. I don't know your inlaws and they might be the best inlaws in the world but you're in their house with their baby girl - most of the time you'll be the odd man out on anything. It's not her fault, your fault or theirs- it just IS. It would be the same for you if you were at your parents She's watching you change and insecurity is rising in her. You're losing what has held you down. She just got put on disability and is now pregnant. Talk about some emotional weight there. Help her carry it. You can do that by confusing your feelings in her and helping her realize that life is changing but from this, a stronger bond between you can occur. Keep talking. Sent from my iPhone using VST

I miss nothing. I eat whatever I want. In fortunate that I don't want things that aren't good for me. If I want a cupcake, I have a bite of my hubby's. If he doesn't want one, I have a bite and toss the rest. Doesn't bother me to not finish food at all. Occasionally I do miss the fizz of a diet coke, but I love not having aspartame in my body more than that. I could have a diet coke - my doctor said it was fine- but I just simply would rather not. Change your perception. You eat to live, not for emotional fulfillment. If you can train yourself in that, you WILL enjoy all of your savory bites! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Will I Ever Enjoy Eating Again?
circa replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I absolutely love eating new foods. You have to get past the idea of eating a lot of food at one time. That's your food addiction talking. I love going out to dinner and love the leftovers. It's all about how you perceive a meal. If your goal is to eat food, no - you won't. But if your goal is to taste wonderful flavored and share time with people while taking in those flavors then yes you will!! Sent from my iPhone using VST -

Nothing bothers me. However, there are a lot of things.... Sweets really that aren't appealing to me. I find myself completely satisfied with one bite or a lick of a finger of whatever is tempting me. Sent from my iPhone using VST

If your body chooses to shed hair, there's nothing youcan do about it. Protein and vitamins can help lessen the loss by strengthening hair, but expect that you probably have some loss. It's not permanent. I lost quite a bit of hair, but I have thick hair anyway- now I just have a normal punt of hair lol. Sent from my iPhone using VST
