vitamins shouldn't have any effect on your antidepressant, in fact, a lot of doctors tell people to take antidepressants at bedtime 1, because it can cause upset stomachs, 2. because they can interrupt sleep, 3. You will have the entire night to have it work into your system.

15 Months Post-Op - Frustrated
circa replied to ibsly271's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I too have always been just one of the guys. You have to be true and honorable to yourself. It can be an odd adjustment to the attention, but if its too much for you or it isn't the correct attention a man should be paying to a married woman, you need to speak up. Please don't disrespect your husband or yourself by keeping silent about it. -
Pretty much just right away - take my Vitamins, go to the bathroom brush my teeth and i'm in bed No reflux issues here at all.

Angry, Depressed, Have Leak, Stent And Pick Line!
circa replied to jcarelle's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
a complication or procedure should never be sugar coated. If I find that a doctor isn't shooting me straight, I fire them. -
feeling guilty doesn't change anyone else's status that isn't doing well - in fact, it might make THEM feel bad that you feel guilty that you're doing well. Never feel guilty about success you earned. You didn't do anything to them to get to where you are! I'm quite certain you weren't going around poking leaky holes in people's sleeves! There's a difference between celebrating your success and rubbing it in someone's face. Just do the former, and not the latter

Angry, Depressed, Have Leak, Stent And Pick Line!
circa replied to jcarelle's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm so sorry you're experiencing this! I did ask this question of a few doctors when I was researching, but they did say the earlier on that a leak is discovered and treated, the "easier" it is to heal it. That being said, I'm not saying its easy - by no means. I am praying that you do have an easy recovery! Typically stents do work and that's why they do use them. I'm so sorry you're in that dreaded 1% We're here if you need anything!!! -
I have found that taking my vitamins right before bed helps immensely. I have done this basically my whole life - they've always made me nauseous. However, something about taking them and then laying down to sleep changes that. Might wanna give it a try

I guess it depends on how bad you want it - You know what triggers your stress and your way of coping, try to work a way around it. drink as much water as you can. Don't beat yourself out of your surgery date.

Cosmetic Procedures After Sleeve Surgery
circa replied to D1NOnlySexyLady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lord I'm gonna have so much done they should probably just transplant my head on another body. Arms need to be done, gonna need a body lift I'm sure and well, the girls are gonna be put back where they belong. Luckily. the breasts will still probably be a reduction so I should get that paid for by insurance. Everything else will be out of pocket. -
Help! Everyones Telling Me Not To Go To Mexico, That Its Too Dangerous!
circa replied to Rachael Torres's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a lovely coordinator here in the US that totally surprised me and flew in and was there for my surgery! -
You absolutely can do a paleo diet in the raw. Its a choice though and it doesn't have anything to do with the paleo theory. Some do it though! I honestly wouldn't if I couldn't harvest my own meat.
-
I bet by measurements you wouldn't be though - and that's because you ARE healthy!

"liquid" Food On The Plane?
circa replied to ShannonH's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I didn't - just some comfy pants and a really baggy tshirt. I didn't really want to wear a robe because they cinch around the waist - and mine cinches right where my incisions were. Up to you though! -
Paleo isn't raw meat. It is suggested that you don't cook beef past medium though in order to retain nutrients AND to ease digestion. Red meat is harder to digest the longer its cooked. I in fact lived a very Paleo lifestyle before I got sick (completely not related, I have a genetic disorder that didn't rear its ugly head til 30) I'm actually working my way there now. Really, the only difference between Paleo and Vegan is that you eat meat. Instead of just being a gatherer, you have a hunter/gatherer existence. Its meats (including fish) vegetables, fruit, root tubers, and nuts. Many people have added legumes, I have because of my allergy to nuts, as well as adding some cheese (only natural) because again, i have some food allergies. A raw food diet, is completely different. Eating food in the natural form it comes in is a GREAT way to live. HOWEVER, you have to have access to meat that is SAFE to eat raw. I would never eat any meat out of a grocery store raw. Wild game harvested myself? You bet. Done that and will do it again. Tastes fabulous.

"liquid" Food On The Plane?
circa replied to ShannonH's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
The protein powder in single servings is a great idea - I did that. Also, take the spice packets out of ramen noodles and take those with you. Works wonders putting a little in some hot water Great flavor and really satisfying -
Considering A Real Diet
circa replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
again, shouldn't be a diet. should be a lifestyle. I didn't see the MD after your name, pardon me for missing what isn't there. -
The idea weight charts were also created by insurance companies back in the early 1940's. There's nothing there about BMI. The range is to cover "frame size" and muscle mass differences.

Considering A Real Diet
circa replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just because I've only been sleeved for a few weeks doesn't mean that I don't know what I'm talking about. You came here asking about a diet. I answered your questions. Your condescending tone doesn't do yourself any good. Good luck. -
Well, when someone isn't my friend, I don't talk to them So I'll be giving my scale the silent treatment and let it think about what it has done. Once I feel that it has given it enough thought, we'll try again Work is driving me batshit crazy - so tired of always being at home (I work from home) Can't wait to get a new job. Food has been really good - water could probably be a little better. I'm meeting the minimum, but I need to do better than that. Working on it

I Have To Eat Out..again
circa replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
awesome food choices at McD's! They have great salads there and REAL chicken breast, which is nice You can absolutely eat healthy there and you're making good choices! -
Pitting edema is often times connected to embolisms, renal failure, heptatic failure and even heart troubles. Its definitely something that you need to have checked out, especially if you have ruled out the obvious "easy" answers like sodium, injury, etc.

Considering A Real Diet
circa replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
first of all, get it out of your head that you're going on a diet. You're changing your life. Protein First Veggies Second Carbs last. concentrate on lean Proteins, eggs, chicken, lean beef and pork, fish Green veggies are the best for you carbs are usually just crap anyway, and you'll get some from the veggies. The only thing stopping you is you. Are you ready to get out of your own way? -
I Have To Eat Out..again
circa replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your sisters seriously wanted to go eat at McDonalds while your other sister was having TESTS done on her HEART?! Wow. There are lots of ways to eat out healthy at restaurants. Soups and salads, appetizers, light and fit menus, ordering a protein-rich meal and just eating enough to satisfy you and taking the rest home. Works great. Restaurants like Ruby Tuesday and Applebees have their light and fit items that are based on chicken, fish or lean beef. Those are my staples for eating out. Applebees has pretty fantastic buffalo wings too on their appetizer menu.
