  1. One thing that I can say is that things are getting better for the mostpart - 5 steps forward, 1 step back type of thing. With the surgery, my husband has seen incisions, etc. He knows I'm not capable of lifting things etc. With my previous illness, there were no scars, there were just limitations brought on by illness that he couldn't comprehend. This has led to me having a bit easier time of explaining things and him meeting some expectations of picking up some slack that I can't do yet. We laugh a lot more. He sticks his foot in his mouth a lot, but he's always done that - and its easier to let that go now, that's for sure. Because I feel like I'm getting back to being my old self, he feels that too- and our relationship is getting better than it has been in years.
  2. warmer liquids sit better with some people, other people, cold. My sleeve likes cold drinks and hot drinks. I couldn't do room temperature. Your progress is GREAT! 20 lbs in 2 weeks! Wowzers! Definitely see the doc - you don't want to get dehydrated! Try maybe some gatorade - that seems to sit well with people - the sobe lifewaters do as well.
  3. You truly can only decide if you should keep on to your original goal. One thing that I heard suggested to help with the body image issue is, for each mini goal that you reach, take pictures of yourself from all angles. put those pictures up around the mirror you look in. Compare what you see to the pictures. Pictures don't lie, mirrors do.

wow - no need to be rude - your question was answered and a term that has been tied to an issue was defined for you. Relax.

    Incision Pain

you probably aggrovated the muscle. I wouldn't think too much about it - I had incision tenderness for a while - not the actual incision, but under it - felt like I did too many situps. If it doesn't lessen in the next while, go back to see your doc

    I Am Peeeeeved

you have to find what works for you. Have you tried circuit training? Perhaps your calories are too low. Are you still losing, just at a slower rate? What does your doctor say? Have you been to see him/her regarding this?

    Too Much Too Soon

ugh! so true! I took on too much and split one of my incisions open! Luckily it was just top layer of skin after stitches were out - but still! I did too much and that's what happens! Take it easy! We still have a lot of rebuilding to do! What you didn't do is fall off the wagon and let it run you over - that in itself is a HUGE victory! Congrats on that! Let your emotions out! Stuffing the weight of a cheesecake down on them makes them 10 times as bad!
  13. I think a lot of people lose their bp meds after weight loss. I think you can too!
  14. I'm one of those people that would totally have showed her a mouth full of chewed up food. If she's that interested in what I'm eating, I wanna give her the full show! Yes - I truly am that person haha. It does suck - but other people's issues are theirs and theirs alone. Don't accept her trying to convey her problems to you.

Ruby Tuesday, Oh How I Love You

Well, the change that caused the weight gain was me getting sick. I was on severe steroid regimens that caused my weight to double in less than a year. So yes, I feel completely different - since I don't have the underlying illness going rampant and no more steroid treatments, I feel completely different. I tried to never let my weight define me. But in that, I did let it control me a bit. I didn't wanna be the fat girl in the room. I didn't wanna be the one that, my husband's friends would look at him quizzically after meeting me, wondering why he's with me. So I isolated myself a lot. It was actually pretty easy to do because when I was sick, I couldn't go places with people - I had such a poor immune system and getting sicker was not something I was going to contribute to. So after I started rebuilding my immunity, I just didn't change that. Now, I'm still not wanting to meet a whole lot of new people, or even see people that haven't seen me since I've been sick, but its getting better. I'm a very social person normally, so its getting harder and harder to resist going out and having fun. I've made plans for the future - the next 6 or so months. If i hit goals, or even come close to them, I'll go ahead with them. And I really want to go ahead with them so I'm going to stay on track and hope my body does the same.
  20. I love their fit menu. You can get a steak with sauteed mushrooms and onions, some creamed spinach in a portabello mushroom cap, and potatoes (or sub broccoli or another veggie) for like 14 bucks and its 3 meals - a TOTAL of 550 calories. My sleeve LOVES beef. LOVES it. Because its a grilled sirloin, its a low fat cut of meat as well - which is even better. That's what I had for dinner last night - and what I'm having for lunch now. I'm very glad to be eating red meat again - I get anemic very easily and I'd much rather get iron naturally than take supplements. Most mineral supplements have copper in them and I can't have it. Its hard to find a pure iron supplement that doesn't use copper as a binder.

What she said I hope to never test my limits. That's what got a lot of us here in the first place.

    I Was Sooo Bad Yesterday!

I hope that you're able to get it under control. I had surgery about 3 days before you did and there is zero way I could eat 1/5th of what you did. What worries me is that you may be overstuffing your sleeve - you may not feel "bursting full" because your nerves haven't fully healed yet. That is a dangerous proposition. You could be damaging your sleeve - its not necessarily the types of food you're eating at this point, but how MUCH.
  23. Yeah - to him its not! So unfortunate that you had to find out

    Curves? Beneficial Or Not?

curves is beneficial to someone who doesn't have and pretty much has never had a workout regimen, or for anyone that isn't comfortable at a gym. how DARE anyone in the medical profession say that movement and exercise isn't beneficial. That just irritates the ever lovin' hell outta me. I think its a great way to get started!
