    Dinner Dilemmas

I have officially tired of chicken. This has lead me to find new dinner ideas - and even go back to some old staples. I made hommade pizza for dinner. This was about the only thing my step mom ever made for dinner that was tasty. I never tire of it. Its got so much meaty and veggie goodness on it. I just don't eat the crust. The pizza is about an inch thick - just piled high with lean meats and veggies and some cheese. My hubby loves it and he eats the crust too - I make it at home and he loves it works out great Our other thing is Applebees or Ruby Tuesday. Applebees has great steaks I usually get the garlic sirloin with broccoli and sauteed mushrooms and onions. The whole meal is about 500 calories and its about 3-4 meals for me. Yesterday we ordered and the hubby went to go get - they screwed up on our meals so they replaced them, so now we have tons of leftovers in the fridge. One thing I never get tired of is red meat - and considering I get anemic so easily, I'm not going to complain about all that yummy goodness in the fridge I cannot wait til hunting season. I will be filling my freezer with elk and mule deer. Hopefully, we'll have a chance at a bison as well. If I never have to eat meat from a store again, I'll be happy I do have a confession though - I'm not a big infomercial person, but I did buy a nu-wave oven. I thought it would be good for the hubby when he was travelling in hotel rooms to be able to cook something quickly, etc. Well - I LOVE the damn thing. You can do anything in it! If you warm something up - like takeout or whatever, it tastes EXACTLY like it did when you first got it. I'm in love with the thing. Oh- and you can also cook frozen meat in it and its delicious. I think that's my favorite - forgetting to pull something out for dinner and resorting to pizza or fast food is no longer an excuse - pop in a frozen steak or something and its good to go

    What Would You Do?

Of course they want you to give up. They always want that. Be persistent. Its worth it if you can get them to pay.

    I Dont Have Insurance :(

Have you considered Mexico? Lots of excellent surgeons there - anywhere from 4500 to 9000 depending on which surgeon you choose based on your needs.

    What Would You Do?

Go through your insurance appeal process if you're denied. If you can get your doctor to write a letter to send with your documentation stating that the sleeve would be the best procedure for you, that may help as well. I went to Mexico and paid 4500 for my surgery. Had a fabulous experience.
  7. I'm with ya - sleeved 1/27/2012 and have lost 22 lbs. I'm confident month 2 will be stellar

Did The Dr Really Set My Goal For 100Lbs?

I did think it was going to be a bit faster, seeing how much I do have to lose. Hopefully getting the exercise going will definitely speed it up. I feel my clothes getting looser and I see it in my face, so hopefully my body catches up!

Did The Dr Really Set My Goal For 100Lbs?

I knew I was going to be on the slower side of losing until other issues were dealt with. Now I'm hoping it speeds up. I haven't done all _that_ bad. I mean, I've lost more weight than I would have without the sleeve.. I'm a month out and I've lost 22 lbs since my surgery date. That's 5.5 pounds per week. I'd love for it to be way more, but its just not. I know I need to exercise more and that will happen. The small setback with my incisions did inhibit that a bit. Because I was doing too much, I had to back off - so the only exercise I have been doing has been walking. I need to up that - and a lot. So here goes!
  10. not to make light of the issue but your description of "productive burp" just about landed me on the floor, I was laughing so hard! I have yet to have this happen and hope I won't, but my understanding is that it IS painful.
  11. It can ding your credit score - part of your credit score is based on longevity of accounts. The best thing to do is pay them off and let them sit. Cut them up if you want, but closing the accounts will shorten your good long-term revolving accounts.
  12. I saw that! I haven't tried it yet but the mojito is wonderful! I'm about to dive into the appletini next
  13. The amount that you can eat is going to increase over the first few weeks, the swelling in your stomach is going down, which leaves a bigger area to fill. Its not that much bigger though. Please make sure that you're drinking enough - many times thirst can mimic hunger. Also, be sure that its not acid. Many times acid makes us feel hungry. Check with your doc about taking an acid reducer. A lot of people have issues with that. The only time I'm hungry 2 hours after a meal is when my meal is only a protein shake. then I have a small amount to eat 2 hours later - after that its about 4 or so hours before I think about eating again.
  14. It is totally bizarre at how many calories a simple drink can have! For further reference, McDonalds carries Minute Maid Light lemonade its 5 calories I have those single-serving crystal light pouches with me at all times. Wylers makes them too - sugar free and just add water and instant drink. They're also great for a lower calorie margarita for those that are at the stage where they can have a little adult beverage 1 packet of lemon or lemon-lime or whatever flavor, some sprite zero or non-fizzy low cal drink if you prefer and whatever adult oriented addition you like
  15. I would try a beginners pilates or beginners yoga. Because you only do what you can do, that's probably the easiest way to start.
  16. don't beat yourself up over trying to avoid a more uncomfortable situation in an already uncomfortable situation. You learned from the experience so you can't regret it! Hang in there! Some people just don't know how to act! Its not polite to talk to people about their food intake unless they give you permission. I don't remember anywhere in that story where you gave this man you don't even know permission to talk to you like that! He's RUDE! He may just not know better and he may think he was being cute and trying to fit in. My family is one of those that will pick on you to show you they like you - but they can read signs! They never pick on someone that's uncomfortable with being picked on - whether overall, or just in that situation. This guy didn't seem to care if you were comfortable or not.
  17. If its so easy, why aren't you doing it?

    Dinner Dilemmas

yeah I've made "crusts" out of cauliflower - Hubby just wanted regular old fashioned - and it doesn't bother me to make it and not eat it. I usually left the crust anyway, even before.

    I Am Peeeeeved

Sounds like your body just doesn't want to let anything go right now. Maybe you need to change something up. Perhaps the bootcamp basics from LilMissDiva and then changing an exercise routine? Maybe try something a bit more challenging - your body might be very used to what you're doing.
  20. Awesome app! I'm loving it! I seem to be missing how to get to the blogs section though!!! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    2 Weeks Frustration!

exactly - you're doing your body RIGHT! Our bodies have gotten so used to us treating them so badly, they kinda go into shock! who could blame them?! lol I would too if someone was treating me like something you scrape off your shoes and then all of a sudden cut the crap outta me and then started handling me with kid gloves and giving me what I need
  23. let me ask you - how much weight were you losing each month before the sleeve? Right now, you're losing 11 lbs per month - that is NOT A FAILURE. Any loss is a success! Your doctor isn't a specialist on weight loss surgery so he doesn't have the right to tell you that you're failing - secondly, the only way to fail at wls surgery is to GAIN weight. Your hubby needs a little talking to! Maybe you'd be able to lose faster if he werent' stressing you out, causing extra cortisol in your system!

    Hours To Eat A Slider

I don't think there's any need to delete your account - you asked a question, it was answered. You've decided that you're not wanted here. I don't think its fair for you to make decisions for other people. I think if you stuck around, you'd get lots of good tips and advice, and maybe even be able to help others.
