Why would you subejct your body to that? Cancer, emphysema, blood clots, stroke - all an increased risk after having a surgery. You're young - 16 years old. About the age I was when I started smoking. I quit 5 years ago and I'll NEVER subject myself to that death sentence again. Its not an "if" you end up with more medical issues, its a guaranteed WHEN. I thought you were trying to be healthy! There is nothing at all cool about it. You smell NASTY when you smoke. You have made a very grown up decision as a man to improve your health - why would you go back to making the childish decision to smoke?
-
yeah I smell a troll - 700ml of orange juice every day would cause mouth sores from the acid. Not to mention, that's about 350 calores, 75 carbs and only about 6 grams of Protein. Not a wise choice. Med student or not, no one is this ridiculous I find it amazing that there are people out there with nothing better to do than try to sabotage people that are trying to better their health - people they DON'T EVEN KNOW.

ground red meat is particularly difficult to digest, including from the mouth - yes, that's where digestion starts, in the mouth. Maybe the reason you couldn't swallow it is because you shouldn't be.
-
If you're a medical student, why didn't you learn more about the operation? 40 days out is less than 7 weeks. Your stomach isn't even fully healed yet and you're shoving chips and snacks and burgers down it? You of all people should know, nothing happens overnight. If you think the surgery is stupid, perhaps you should have done more research before having the surgery.

I found the liquid vitamins to be ridiculous. The ones I tried were horrific tasting. I did find gummy vitamins that are very easy to get down and stay down.

glad its working for you!

When Is Too Soon To Get Pregnant?
circa replied to Hansonfan's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I'm guessing because you had much less to lose than others and have been maintaining for a while that there would be less concerned - anyone whose in the losing phase should NOT even think about getting pregnant. There is nothing safe about it in the losing phase. Congrats on your pregnancy! -
How Long Did It Take For Your Incisions To Heal?
circa replied to Jesusislove's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
everyone heals at a different rate - I'm a month out and mine are just now healed. 2 of them were fully healed after 2 weeks, one was healed last week and the other two are just now healed. I had removable sututres. -
Sleeping On Your Tummy
circa replied to Reddi4change's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did sleep in a recliner for a couple days because I kept trying to sleep on my stomach - then i got a body pillow so I wouldn't roll over. Worked WONDERS! It also allowed me to start sleeping on my side with the pillow supporting my stomach. Now I sleep on my tummy no problem -

Why Does Everything Revolve Around Food?
circa replied to upwardfocusedgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
because its a commonality among all people - all people have to eat. Makes people more comfortable as a general rule. I'm one of those foodies that brings food to the office to share. I have always been conscious of people's different lifestyles - I always make sure to bring appealing healthy foods as well as the devilish ones -
Respond Soon If Possible-Dehydrated-When Is It Time....
circa replied to Joiebean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, dehydration is nothing to mess around with. It can turn ugly in a short amount of time. Going to the ER now could be the difference between a few bags of IV fluids and being sent on your way and a week long stay in the hospital with IV's and a feeding tube. -
Mexico surgery if your not to tired to share.
circa replied to silverpelican's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was just there a month ago. I've been in scarier parts of safe cities here in the US than Tijuana. I felt perfectly safe the entire time. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/30160-my-review-of-dr-almanza-thus-far/page__p__259870#entry259870 There's my story. 100% honest, 100% true experience. There are places in Mexico I would never go. Juarez has been rated a "war zone" by the state department. Tijuana doesn't have any travel advisories out of the ordinary. -
Almost Died Fm Vsg Surgery.
circa replied to Kim David's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I think the problem here is that there have been so many trolls thta have put stories on this site that are so outlandish and this one, the lack of certain details, the over explaining of others, and the information not relevant and not needed that appear to be bragging add up to a same old situation scenario. This person, if the story is true did not have near death complications from surgery, but from lack of medical care. -

Why would you risk the Heath of an innocent child because you want to be a parent? There are healthy kids born every day that need loving parents. Sent from my iPhone using VST -

So I work at home and I'm so fantastically bored with it. Tired of staring at the same walls and having no human interaction. I've been sending resumes out and looking for a job outside the house. Its hard to take something that's nearly 1/2 the pay though. Hoping to find something that gets my butt outta the house more often very soon!
-
I've thought about that. Problem is, when I'm working, I need to use 2 monitors to work effectively. I just need to get outta the house heh

Pregnancy Vs Wls? Please Help.
circa replied to gutless's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I think the bigger regret would be having an unhealthy baby or complications during and after pregnancy due to being unhealthy. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/730973 -
Need Comebacks For "easy Way Out" Crack
circa replied to gmanbat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a firm believer in working smarter, not harder than necessary. Don't get me wrong, I'm not afraid of hard work, just seems ridiculous to fight a losing battle empty handed when you can grab a tool and succeed. -
I Am Scared And Trying To Keep The Faith
circa commented on Smilecharmer's blog entry in Smilecharmer's Blog
first of all PUT THE SCALE AWAY! Weighing yourself a buncha times a day will drive you crazy. Your body weight will fluctuate all day long due to water retention, etc. Get the idea out of your head that you're going to lose weight between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner. The scale will not and cannot register your progress throughout a day, only you can by what you consume and how active you are. The scale also cannot measure what amount of fat you have converted to muscle. Please do not put all of your energy into what a machine that's slapped together in a mass factory for 1.29 and then sold to you for 30 bucks that is run by a 3 dollar battery tells you. The weight will come off if you're doing what you're supposed to. It doesn't have a choice. The scale should only be a guideline - once a week maybe. Take measurements, check how your clothes feel. Check how YOU feel. Those are the true measurements -
likewise! I'm losing my mind haha.

Questions For Veterans
circa replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First of all, this is someone talking about a person who they say isn't happy. A lot of what is said isn't even relevant to the sleeve. Also, if this person's main concern is not being able to enjoy food in quantities, that's an issue that got them the sleeve in the first place. To tell a person that's 6 years out that they don't have enough experience to know what they're talking about was quite a bit ridiculous as well. Her "common" complications of the sleeve aren't common at all - unless you consider common to be 1-2%, which I don't. This woman sounds pissy because she can't eat a whole cheesecake when she wants to. to tell someone that they could have done it without surgery is a slap in the face. MANY people tried for YEARS to do it without surgery and were unsuccessful - so she's saying you never really tried. I think she's someone who is sad and missing her food because she didn't deal with mental and emotional addiction to food. -
Almost Fainted This Morning! Help
circa replied to Melly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
drink your protein shake before you take your shower in the morning if at all possible. -
Newer doesn't always mean better. I personally wouldn't chance Juarez - I know others have gone there and been successfully sleeved and come home safe, however, the State department has likened Juarez to a warzone. Check the state department website and travel warnings.
