Complications after Sleeve Surgery
*Lib* replied to attitudefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What the?? Why would she sue? complications are a fact of major abdominal surgery. If her surgeon hold told her to suck it up and move on, then yes then take it further, but her surgeon tried to help.:cursing: -

I had terrible complications too, but 6 months out, I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I find that baby food is really bland. You don't want to be eating bland food, when you can only have a little bit. It needs to have flavour.

Just copied this from the other forum: You know what, the RNY is another option if the sleeve doesn't work for you (Which in all likelyness it will). Once you have the RNY there is NO going back. Whereas if you have the sleeve and it doesn't work you can then get the RNY. I would never ever choose the RNY over the sleeve, only leave it as a final option. _________________

Step away from the scales!! Your body is probably in shock! Don't panic, it will happen, it can't not!! -
Yep it stops, it goes from one extreme to the other, I am freezing all the time! Even though its summer here in Australia at the moment!

I have 2, 1 was damaged by pregnancy, its on my hip, my tramp stamp is ok though.

:crying: Me too I finally loved having some boobies, and now they are gone again. :001_tt1:

I eat a fair bit of pasta and rice, just be careful with portion sizes, as it can get a bit uncomfortable if you overdo it!

I couldn't eat 1/2 a hamburger. I am 6 months out. It leaves me feeling stodgy, so I choose something else. Like a salad, I would never ever have thought that a salad would satisfy me, but surprisingly it does! I'd rather the salad over the burger anyday.

What do you want to do that you couldn't do before the sleeve?

Love the ideas of the tattoos! I have been considering one to symbolise the weightloss. I was thinking more along the gemini scales symbol, I'm scorpio though so I wonder if thats silly! I have 2 existing tattoos, and can't decide where this one will go! Re the lose skin I am lucky I have lost 84lbs and I have *some* lose skin on my arms, but I figure I can live with that! -
The smell of "good" food backfired on me too many times. I ate it, but then I was sick, or felt sluggish for hours afterwards. So I just don't bother now. I have a hard time with any type of bread so I don't do subway for that exact reason, but I do love the smell of it!

On a positive note, what comforted you most during your hospital stay?

I took my laptop, so being able to surf the net kept me entertained. -
I was just like you described. The thought of food made me feel sick. The more I tried to eat or drink the worse I felt. I was vomitting blood. I was admitted to hospital with dehydration. I had an appointment with a physc because I thought I was going mental. Before I was discharged from hospital I had a stern talking to myself. I was just getting sicker and sicker because I wasn't eating what I should. My father hired me a nurse to have at home and she forced me to have shakes and go for walks, she saved me! I am doing well now and can eat most things but for the first few months I was wondering if I had done the right thing. It was so tough, but thankfully now things are going really well. I hope that you are feeling good soon.

Oh good its not just me then!! I have a daquiri the other day, was giggly after a few sips and sober 10 minutes later! I was never a big drinker anyway, so I don't really miss it.

I'd rather lose hair than no weight. I am 5 months out, a few weeks ago my hair started to thin, and it has stopped now. Its not even noticable.
