  4. My only advice is to take a deep breath. Everything will turn out fine. It wouldn't hurt to talk over an idea on a goal weight with your surgeon to get some kind of direction. Let us know how it goes!

Who Are You Rooting For Super Bowl Sunday?

Yup me too!! Lots of reasons and all you've already mentioned... except the Raiders. :-P Other reasons are I'd like to know my 9ers were beat by the Champs, I'm a SF Giants fan so I already like the name, I like the Manning brothers AND NYC is awesomeness.

    Vitamins And Weight Loss?

I have only signed up 5 days ago and haven't started logging my food. I did however find a spot where you can choose what MFP will log for you and water was an option. So I believe so, and I know that Livestrong does.

    The Basics Boot Camp

@meggs, for me yes I avoid beef and pork for the 5 days. They tend to bulk me up and have a history of this. Especially pork as it is higher in sodium. When doing this plan along with flushing with lots of Water it will work against me. @humpty... AWESOMENESS!! I'm sooo glad this has helped you. Once the 5 days are up, the trick is to go back on sleever rules. I've found that continuously changing up routine helps so much to avoid plateaus that last more than a few weeks at a time. GOOD LUCK TO ALL! Feb. 1st is only a few days away. I'm starting to get pumped!!

    Vitamins And Weight Loss?

Are you logging your intake at all? Believe me, intake is the majority of any weight loss program. I highly doubt Vitamins has anything to do with the equation. That is mostly just general health. IMO, find a way to start logging your foods, calories, Proteins, carbs, sodiums, sugars and very importantly as well - your Fluid intake. Water is a huge factor in weight loss. The more you drink the more you will lose. Also, how are your calories out? Are you working out in any way? I cannot stress this enough, if it weren't for my workouts I wouldn't be nearly as successful. Not only that, I may look good IN my clothes, but I also look without too. :wink1: A few suggestions are My Fitness Pal and Livestrong. I use both when I'm diligently on the path to losing fat, inches and weight.

My 1St Dinner Party And I Am Nervous.

Hi there Cassandra, Yes, we will need to know how far out you are and/or what stage you are on post op. If its a Bistro Im sure they will have Protein options. Trust me, everyone is going to be concerned about there own plates, not so much yours. If anyone asks, and you are not comfortable talking about the surgery to everyone, just tell them you are Low Carbing it.

    Its Your Period Dummy!

Everything was always running around my cycle, including my losses. I'm glad it was just a simple answer!!
  17. Okay!!! I need to start getting prepared because as of February 1st this girl kicks ass into HIGH GEAR!!! I've been healing from Plastics along with stupid WINTER and HOLIDAYS... but I think it's high time these EXCUSES comes to an end. I need to flatten out this belly because honestly... it's really annoying the crap outta me.

Changing From Band To Sleeve ..

Actually yes I felt a difference immediately. The band always left me with a weird pressure sensation in my chest. Well when I woke up from surgery that feeling was GONE!!! You know what else was gone? That super annoying pain on my side where my port used to be. My restriction was super tight in the beginning as my stomach was very swollen. That's ok, it was the first few months and this will be when you lose the most and fastest. I just took it and ran. However over time I began to realize there were so many foods I could once again eat, where it had been YEARS since the last time I'd had it.

    Cordinator And Dr

My surgeon was Dr. Alberto Aceves and my Pre0Op patient coordinator was Nina Eguia. She's super sweet, and comforting. She even came in to meet with me while in the hospital. The hospital is super clean and I would recommend all of them over and over again.

2Wks To Start Pre Op Diet

Yayyy your day is so close!! I think the things that kept me on track were knowing that one, I've heard some surgeons will cancel a surgery - EVEN RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF ONE - if they realize you have not shrunk your liver. It is not to punish the patient but to give them the most healthy outcome. They have to use a tool to hold your liver out of the way so he can see what he's doing. He may not want to risk and accidental nick, and cause bleeding. Also, though the pre-op surgery is not really for losing weight, it sure is nice to get a head start!! Whatever weight you lose pre-op will ultimately be weight you won't have to lose post op.

Sick On Stomach Since I Began

Hey there, I'm sorry to hear you're feeling nauseated all the time. I did too in the very begining and it was awful!! Did your surgeon happen to give you anything for nausea? If not it might be a good idea to give his/her office a call and see about getting some. Another idea might be if you are not on any kind of PPI (Proton Pump Inhibitor) it might help to relieve some undue pressure on your stomach. Our stomachs will still try to produce the same amount of acid it did before, even though we only hav 15 % left. I'm taking Zegerid, though I have tried Prevacid and Nexium in the past and neither did much to help. Everyone has a preference and what works for me, may not work for you. All the best to you and I hope you get to feeling better soon.
  25. That is FANTASTICALLLL!!!! Congrats, 2 sizes already??? You kickin fats butt!!!
