After 2 years! Finally found my word.

For me it is more "lifestyle" because this isn't something for me to put a final destination to. The last day of my life will be the day this lifestyle changes.

Cats Vs Dogs (Share your pet pics)

Which pet is the best? I like them both! Cats are truly under estimated by us lazy and self centered human creatures. They are brilliant and if you've ever potty trained a cat and a dog you would definitely agree the cat wins that battle hands down. That said a dogs love is truly amazing! They shadow you and calm your heart like no other animal can do, and they are brilliant in their own way. I have 9 pets and I love them all the same. 6 rescued alley cats from certain doom and fate, and 3 adorable maltese dogs (1 of which is mixed with mini poodle). My eldest is a feline whom I rescued as a very tiny kitten. He was barely over a pound and I had to feed him back to life. He is 15 years old now and though he is slowing down a lot he still always shows his appreciation for me saving him. Believe it or not they do all get along really well and rarely do they have a bit of a scuffle. It's never anything serious though! It's usually just one of them playing too rough. They are my little furbuddies! It's never a dull moment in our house! It's fun though and the respect I have for life has grown more impassioned with them in my world. I cherish what they have done for me, and in the darkness of despair they left the light on for me.

Does being called "Skinny" offend you?

@@kikicoates78 I have a very shapely booty too... but I've still been called skinny lots of times. Never say never.

Does being called "Skinny" offend you?

@ agreed "scrawny butt" is not nice at all. I wonder if perhaps some might take offense to being called skinny and confusing it with the lack of self confidence. I highly doubt most are saying skinny in an offensive manner. I'm sure most of us just aren't used to being called that and maybe we don't feel skinny... but in the eyes of another person we really are. In comparison to who we used to be we are. It is in my opinion a compliment.

I personally love being called skinny. I haven't heard it in a while but when I did I loved it. It would make me feel good!

    Thoughts on sugar free?

I use sugar free products all the time. I guess I'm just used to it over the years. Now real sugar is super sweet and almost makes me choke. That said I know lots of folks just give up sweet foods all together so it's not impossible.
  10. Just a reminder that the Bypass is not a guarantee that you won't be able to eat sweets anymore. It will help your blood sugars almost immediately. The dumping though is only true for about half of the people. That said you can still get dumping with the sleeve too. I did. The proper eating comes from a strong mind, nothing else. Whatever you choose, you're going to have to put all your willpower into it. 100%

  13. Couple things going on with me, firstly today is day 206 that I am sugar free! I don't eat anything with more than 5g of sugar per serving except natural fruit. I then only eat half of one serving. That is probably the single hardest thing I've ever done. YES I eat carbs! And yes I do use artificial sweeteners and no I won't stop that. Just watch my sugar very closely. And second, just yesterday day cardiologist cleared me to never see him again if I don't need to. No more heart doctor visits! Yay me! He super proud of my progress and said I'm doing all the right things. I'M HAPPY!

    Shakes long term?

I make myself a Protein power shake first thing in the morning. Several reasons, it helps to ensure I'm getting all my protein in for the day, I take my daily supplements mixed in with it which also helps from making me nauseated from them, it gets my metabolism started right away and not only that I do a workout early in the morning and immediately after we should get a minimum of 15g protein to help repair the damage from it. Whew... long winded... did you get all that? I've been doing this since 2008. I'm fine and in fact I believe is a huge reason why I don't look run down, instead healthy. No one would ever suspect I had WLS. Not that I'm hiding it, I just don't want to look like I'm all sucked up.

    Any Suggestions?

Oh no not the booty! Sounds like you're already doing lunges and squats perhaps? Try using Kettlebells, or weights while doing them too. Also any leg workouts flex your glutes too at the same time. Squeeze squeeze squeeze! I kid you not it works. There's also a workout DVD called the Brazilian butt lift (I think that's what it's called) sold through beachbody. Try that. I've never used it but I heard it does work. Good luck to ya.

  22. Both surgeries are good options, I know I've had both. Based on your diabetes and my opinion only I'd say the bypass might be your best option. Of course make sure it's yours and your surgeon's best choice. Good luck to you!
