    Hi I'm New Here! :)

Just kidding... haha! Gotcha! I just wanted to put it out there that I have changed my display name. Why? Because I am not Little and I'm no Miss... so. HOWEVER, I am getting stronger every day. And, I'm always quite the Diva. Carry on with your business! I hope everyone's doing well with your endeavors.

I was also still very weak at 4 weeks post op. What you are experiencing is quite common. Don't let it worry you, because now I have more energy than I know what to do with. Just start slow, take your time building yourself up. You will get to a point where you're doing a lot more and soon. Walking and stationary bikes, even ellipticals should be fine for you right now. Wow you are really fast on that stationary bike! My best 10M time is just under 32 Minutes. Good job!

Hi Jwow... just be careful. I'm not so sure doing so many workouts being only 3 weeks post op is a really good idea, especially the swimming. Please check with your surgeon.

Thanks so much for your support! Actually besides majority of it probably being mostly luck - I'd say workouts has helped a lot with my loose skin, and staying fully hydrated (important for many reasons!)... I've also began lifting with Kettlebell routines and with dumbbells and my arms are filling out quite nicely. It's better to work it and see if it helps or not, than to do nothing! All the best!!

Hi Katie I was sleeved about one year and 8 months ago. I was 282 just before my pre-opt diet, but at my highest weight ever I was about 330 Lbs. That 50 Lbs was lost on years worth of fighting. I normally eat protein first, then my veggies, then a little bit of carbs. Though recently I have been eating far more carbs as I've bumped up my workouts like crazy. It sounds like you are well on yoru way, congrats!!!

Forgive yourself of your past... but never ever forget. If you do, you are doomed to repeat the behaviors that have gotten you to state at which you have sought to change.
  17. Oh you are close to passing me on reputation points!! Haha! :) You certainly deserve it, you're one of the most supportive folks on here. *Blessings*

Hi bg63, Yes I have done the pouch test. I don't really like it, I don't like doing all liquids for days unless I absolutely have to. It's just not my favorite! Besides that, I have a sleeve, I don't have a pouch. I personally when I need to get back on track just go back to basics, which is protein first, then green veggies next. No carbs for a couple days as long as you don't workout hardcore. Drink plenty of fluids (water!) too and hopefully this can get you back into good habits. Hi Shannon Well my dear, I think perhaps you might just need to relax a little bit. Don't over think it! It can be mentally draining as it is. The weight WILL COME OFF but you just have to follow sleever rules and continue to challenge your physical abilities. That and plenty of fluid (see above response should help). I understand wanting to be at goal yesterday, but frankly that isn't going to happen. Don't stress on things you can't control. Forgive yourself for your past (DON'T FORGET) and make this moment count as yoiu move forward to fix yourself. It takes time and patience. *hugs*

Ok, Gym Rats. I Need Advice!

I'm just starting myself to work into weight lifting. Here's a nifty little suggestion... and I don't think a lot of people even consider this but IMPO the very best beginner tool for strength training is actually body weight calisthenics. Give it a try! If your gym offers any type of Bootcamp classes go for that. Other than that most definitely start light and small. Begin with a good warm-up, however long your body likes. I do around 20 Minutes on my stationary bike. It seems to be the best result for me. Then do some nice stretches for about 3-5 minutes. After that, do your thing. However, it is best not to work the same muscles every single day. Give your muscles a break between workouts. You're doing great Lissa, I'm happy for you.
