    The Basics Boot Camp

BTW I also use Land O Lakes prepared with Olive Oil too. It has a lovely flavor. I never use synthetic butter. Ever. I don't avoid fats as much. I choose to just eat healthy with moderate "good" carbs. White carbs is what I avoid mostly.

    Bad Breath Help

If this is something you've only experienced recently, most likely it is due from eating low carbs. Ketosis can cause foul breath... unfortunately. Sadly, there really isn't much you can do aside from scraping your tongue, constantly brushing your teeth or perhaps the listering breath strips. Good news is it doesn't last forever. Mine usually lasts only a week or two when I put myself back in that state. All the best!

Yep sure can! On the computer full version it lists surgeons under the profile picture. Dr. Cirangle was going to be my first choice but instead went with Dr. Aceves. Dr. C is an excellent surgeon and well, not hard on the eyes...

When You Need Motivation Or Have Qs I'm Happy To Help :)

Remember to be thankful for all the wonderful blessings in your life. Being negative or seeing all the bad things going on or all the awful things that have happened to you in your life isn't going to do much except bring you down, and give you excuses on why you should keep abusing yourself. Stay bright, happy and cherish all the love you have in your life. Look forward to your improvements, but also keep in mind anything worth having will never come easy. Fight until the wheels fall off... I know I always will. God Bless.

    Band To Sleeve - Thoughts?

Hi there I revised from band to sleeve in Sept 2010, and I was originally Lap Banded in Feb 2008. It is absolutely UN TRUE that ex bandsters to poorly with the sleeve. For ME the Lap Band failed... I did not. I know it seems like a common feeling that we ourselves must have done something wrong, but I refuse to accept that. I must be right too because I blew through my sleeve and I've been at goal for over a year now. I'm happy, I'm fit and I'm slim and trim. That's all I ever wanted with my WLS procedure and never got until I was sleeved. I workout nearly every day in some capacity. I eat by the sleever rules most of the time (I'm not perfect!!) but those two thing ensure I remain in my tiny clothes and toned and fit. I highly encourage any Bandsters to take the plunge to the Sleeve if their Band did not work out for them. YOU are NOT a FAILURE... Failing means giving up and since you're here considering a revision, you have not given up. Blessings!

    A Few Questions..

This is perfect advice. Everyone is different and some do need less carbs per day to lose, however these rules are a good starting point. I did exactly this (except my water intake after the first few months went up to around 100 oz per day) and I lost all my excess weight in about 10 months time. Also of all my workouts, walking has ALWAYS been my greatest fat burner. Not even running (though I did do that...) but walking. Good luck to you!

    Denied...but Yet Approved

Hi MB Mom, my advice to you is don't panic! I have to tell you I've noticed a great deal many people in the WLS community who have the Gastric Bypass and are doing wonderfully. There are some differences in the procedure so I have to tell you to find a WLS message board that discusses GB just like we discuss the Sleeve here. Thinnertimes.com is a good one. Also even doing a simple Google search you will find an incredible amount of information out there on the internet for your reading. I want to throw in there I know someone personally and in real life who had the Gastric Bypass procedure. He's doing great and I'd say has lost about 200 Lbs in the last year alone at least. I never asked him exactly how much he's lost only because I hate it when I get asked that all the time. Truth be told he's taken the spotlight here away from me and I'm a bit grateful! Haha All the best to you!!

    1. I confess that I'm not perfect HOWEVER I'm still at goal living my thin and fit dream. 2. I confess that I don't always follow all the sleever rules HOWEVER I'm 2 years post op and I'm healthier than I've ever been in my life. 3. I confess that I do eat sugar and carbs sometimes HOWEVER I'm regular in the bathroom. 4. I confess that I secretly would still love to get smaller HOWEVER I love the way I look in pictures and in the mirror. 5. I confess that I no longer worry about what I'm eating as much HOWEVER it's nice to constantly obsess about what I'm eating. Enjoy life people, because that's what this is really all about. In the end, only love and family really matter. Blessings!

    Encouraging Myself

Wow you look great! In such a short amoutn of time too, you have a lot to be proud of! congrats =) By the way I went through the same emotions when I had my band removed and revised to sleeve. I kept it hush hush because of the embarrassement I felt as I was not successful with my band. However today I'll tell anyone who asks. It's a nice liberating feeling. That said, to each their own. Whatever you feel the most comfortable with is what you should do. Good luck!!

  19. Oh ha! I see I did respond to this message. Whoops.
  20. Hi Leah, I apologize I just now seen your question. I'm not on often, and the best way to get my attention is to either quote me or write on my profile feed. I did mean only three quarters of one cup. It all depends though, that's if I'm eating properly. Last night I ate maybe 3 Oz of spare ribs and a few bites of broccoli and I was satisfied. I could probably push a little more but I hate how I feel physically if I do, especially with eating dense meat such as pork. Now popcorn on the other hand... is another story entirely. I am always thankful for my sleeve though, it will always be there for me when I'm willing to use it wisely. Take care!
  21. Hi there, I happened to see your update. I'm so sorry you're going through Chemo. I just wanted to let you know I'm praying for you. Xo

  22. My Nutrition course starts next Thursday, the 30th... Yayyy I'm sooo EXCITED!! I have to start back up so I didn't get preferrential seating, so I had to take the class there. No Online, but hey it will probably be better instructed this way. Me, always looking at the bright side. However, after this I will get first pickings so I'll be sure to get the Online courses right away. Woot!! My new life is starting... =D
