Do you think people know when the make NO comment at all?
LilMissDiva Irene replied to maryrose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I believe of course they know. I think the reason could be either one of two scenarios. Either they #1: Don't know if you would like it to be mentioned and they don't want to be rude or... #2: They see you are looking great and they are so blindingly jealous, they don't care that they are rude by not mentioning it. It would kill them to say you are looking fab. JMHO! -
Oh yes! I actually have been working out for years now, which I think is the only reason I didn't keep getting bigger and bigger. I put in about 1.5 - 2 hours a day (never miss a day)!! I am a big lover of workouts. I am even considering changing my whole life after I finish my weight loss journey and would like to work with people who are trying to lose weight, by WLS or on their own. One thing at a time though. I would definitely be ballooning up right now if it weren't for my routines. You are absolutely right, it does relieve so much stress - so I can thank my workouts for not letting me totally lose it.

That's so great LJM!! Congrats on your good loss this month. It looks like you are back on track, I'm so happy for you!! I'm just finished with my bloated TOM, so I think my weight will start dropping again for myself really soon. It doesn't help with all the stress I'm going through with simply trying to get an official surgery date... Things are looking good right now, so I should check in with a date really soon. So here goes for the new challenge for November. I'm going to go really conservative since I am still pre-band and struggling at best for every pound I can get. Seriously Thinking About Backing Out
LilMissDiva Irene replied to MollyBrown's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I guess this is why I didn't mind doing the six month pre-op dietician appointments. I learned so much from them, on what I should be doing now and what to expect. My dietician told me on my first visit to find some supplements now, test them and find the ones that I know I can live with for the rest of my life! It did take a lot of trial and error, but I have been stuck on a particular brand now for months, and it's almost as if I don't even feel right if I don't have one or two a day. Preparing for such a life altering procedure isn't something that I found I could get used to in the two weeks prior to surgery. This is however, my opinion for myself only. I'm sure there are some out there who didn't even do any pre-surgery things and are doing better than I would hope to. -
I used to love thrill rides. Sadly, I haven't been on one in about 10 years at least. I took, as Boo puts it "The walk of Shame", and I was way too embarrassed by that to even ever try again. As I walked away, I heard some girl say out loud "How embarrassing..." Yeah, and you just made it that much worse, helloooo... Anyway, I'm just wondering at which size were all of you when you first noticed that you were able to fit on the rides again. I'm curious because I would just love to get on one again, but I don't want to risk any undue embarrassement again. Thanks!

I have two older ones. Nothing great, except the one with my DHs name on it. I am planning to get it re-done. I am also going to surprise him for our #12. I am getting his name on my ring finger (under the ring) with 6 red hearts going around the finger meeting at the bottom (6 on each side). My DH has tattoos all over his entire body, we are into them. He has beautiful work - and he has my name on him 3 x's!! lol My avatar is going to be another one down the road. I am going to get it on my lower middle back after I have met my new weight loss goal. :boink:

Psych eval this afternoon!!!
LilMissDiva Irene replied to valvinnek's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I met with the Psychiatrist for maybe 20 minutes with questions about family support, what DH thinks about the surgery, family obesity, etc. Very quick and painless. Then I took a questionnaire of about 560+ question, and all True False. Passed with flying colors. Do not worry, they just want to make sure you don't have any major psychological or emotional problems. Even then I've heard of some bandies still getting the surgery. They just needed a little more intervention and possibly anti-depressants. Good luck! Let us know how it goes. -
Dietitian/Nutritionist
LilMissDiva Irene replied to Dietitian Betty's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Dietician Betty, My dietician is a blessing! If she told me one day she was lap-banded I wouldn't feel anything more for her other than a kindship, even though I'm not banded yet (hopefully soon!) I was actually so accepting of all her ideas and help that she inspired me to maybe look into going back to school to become one myself. I would find it so very rewarding to help people who have a difficult time with eating and weight management. Now with what you have said, it seems I would be really out of place if that is how they really feel. I would think that dieticians would be pro any kind of means of weight loss, for that is something they work especially toward. If that's not true, then I think I will just continue the same everyday drawl I already do.
