Good news! Extra, Extra!! Read all about it... LMBA has a surgery date, and it will be on Feb. 11th at 10 am. I am to check in the hospital at 7:30 am. I can't wait now, it's right around the corner. I have been waiting so long for even a set date, I don't know how to act even. Butterflies...

Hi All! Good news, I finally have that date as of yesterday. I will have my surgery on Feb. 11th, check in time 7:30 am and surgery time is 10 am. OMG! It's finally going to happen!!

Great idea! I need to get a little kick in the butt too. I have not done too well this month, so next month it is back on that wagon. In January I propose I will do 1860 minutes of exercise. That equals one hour a day for all 31 days. If I miss a day, well then I have some make-up to do, haha!! No problem, I built my body up to handle that - so no excuses. Good luck all!

Hi All! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! Mine was nice, and filled with Family as usual. I see a few responses here already for Feb. 11th. That might be my date as well. I have already been fully approved for the surgery by my insurance and was ok'd to set up an appointment with my surgeon. I called (about two weeks ago) to set up the appointment and the receptionist said February should be no problem as they are still working on January appointments at that time. She needed to confirm it with the Surgeon and get to February appointments first before defining it with me. Of course! Nothing I'm doing with this surgery has been smooth sailing, but hey, nothing worth doing... right? I tried calling last Friday and Monday to see if I can get that for sure but they are out right now for the Holidays. Once again, of course! I'll let you all know when I get my "for sure" date. I am just glad it will be soon, and this New Year 2008 will be the Newest Year of my and our lives. Keep in touch everyone, and I'm glad to hear some of you are doing way better than me right now. I'm kind of going through that whole "Well, it's my last big Christmas" right now if you know what I mean. I do have one good fete however. At the beginning of this month I said to myself that I am going to see if I can go one whole month without ONE solitary pototo or tortilla chip. Guess what? NONE so far!!!!! Everyday gets easier, and those little suckers are what made me so big!

Hello and welcome everyone! Sorry I’ve been away for awhile, but I have been busy at home of late. That’s usually how I am – kind of hot and cold at different times. If you notice my absence, then I have something going on in the “real world” so to speak. Nothing major however. And still no date yet, but I did get a call from my insurance case manager and they have fully approved my surgery. Next stop: Date. For sure! ShellieB73, well, I can’t even use having little ones as an excuse. At least not yet! But, when it gets to that point, I will at least have my little band ready to go for the after birth weight loss. As far as the dietician appointments go, enjoy them! Take as much info from them as possible. You may not feel it right now, but you will see in time that it does come in very handy as time goes on! Everyone else, hang in there. You have come a long way, and this is a very personal decision, in all aspects. If you choose not to tell everyone that’s great. Sometimes I wish I hadn’t have done it. That way I don’t have to keep answering the question “any date yet?” Augh! Stick to your pre-op diet all! GOOD LUCK!

Hey everyone, so glad to hear of all your upcoming events! Keep us posted, and best of luck!! Cherlita, wow! Thanks for sharing and so glad to hear you are doing well after surgery. Can't wait for myself!! As for me, well, I have even better news now. I called yesterday morning to be placed on the waiting list for cancellations - and guess what? They said I could come in that afternoon since they DID have one just then!! Wowza!! I got to see both the surgeon AND his dietician. I was so stoked. Both appointments went great and the surgeon said he is going to give me the surgery. Now another waiting game, he has to let my insurance know he is appoving of me and then my insurance will have to pay him, and not until then will I get my date. He said it takes from one to two weeks to hear from his receptionist to schedule me. I'm not too worried though. I have saved months worth of time with my "squeaky wheel" self!!! I am going to shoot for January. I'm in love with the whole "New Year, New Me" idea. SO EXCITED!!!!!!!! Well, I will let you all know when I get that all-coveted date. TTFN! :clap2:

A little check-in... I have a pre-op with my surgeon on Dec. 11th, then a pre-op with my surgeon's dietician on Dec. 27th. I won't get an actual surgury date until I have these pre-ops, but hey -- that's another step closer. I am going to call back today and ask to be placed on stand-by for the dietician. They are some busy folks at my hospital!

LJM, insub, mmcbelle - Thanks! I am so close now. Just need an official date and I will be complete. Not only that, I have had a stickler of a cold for a week now. I am just finally starting to feel better as of this morning. That's ok, because I gained no weight for Thanksgiving. I still weigh the same from the last month. Oh well.... I know I surely would have gained some with all the great food around. Good luck or bad?

Finally!!!!!! OMG, I never thought it would happen... My PCP's office just called and told me the insurance finally put that stamp of approval and she said my surgeon's office will call shortly to set up my appointment. I was beginning to lose all hope. Thanks to everyone for helping me keep my chin and what little hope I had left up. If they don't call by the end of the day, I am going to call the surgeons office tomorrow. Anyway, I am so totally HAPPY and so totally READY!!!! :clap2:

My co-worker has her ringtone set as "Santa Clause is Coming to Town". It one of the old ones, kind of like a whistle sound. I wouldn't even mention it, but in the last half hour it has gone off about 50 times. No exaggeration. How can I tell? Well it goes off about once every thirty seconds for about 30 minutes now - so that is approximately 60 times. I say 50 because there are times when they only call back every minute. By the way, where is she?
