Good for you! Do not let anyone get in the way of you doing what you feel is best for your health and well being. I have had zero negative feedback, in fact my office threw me a "Protein Shake" Party to send me off. They are great! This place is the best for positive support, so stay logged in.

My surgeon is very conservative and very "by the book", which in all reality is a good thing. He won't do any first fills prior to six weeks. I'm ending up having to wait it out 8 weeks because he will be out on vacation during this time. Patience... (as one previously put it). You have to have tons of it for this procedure. No if's, and's or but's. I am deep in bandster hell. I was hungry since day three post-op. I only eat small portions because I am supposed to, but it doesn't fill me up. This time is on sheer will-power, however some (very few) never really even need a first fill. Everyone is individual, as well as their surgeons. Ask your surgeon these questions, in fact keep a list of all so you don't forget any. Good luck!

I just want to poke my head in and say "HI!". I have a ways to go, but now that I am in the 260's comfortably (which I haven't seen in so many years) I know I will want to continue until I drive through the gates of ONE-DERLAND!! Because I just bought a beautiful designer formal gown, size 14. I want to wear it at an upcoming wedding. I can put it on, but cannot zip it up. I have to be able to by Mid-July!!!

CONGRATS, to all who have had some great NSV's so far!! For those still waiting for one, it will come soon no doubt! And for anyone not having to shop in the Big Gals Stores, that is so great! I can't wait. I had a huge one over the weekend. Clothes shopping. I needed new clothes because I hadn't really done any extensive clothes shopping in say, oh, maybe 8-10 years. Embarrassing to say... I went through my closet and pulled out anything too big, and when I say "too big", I mean like size 3-4X tops. I've already long ago wasted my size 28's (snug). I started losing weight a few years ago, but maybe a size a year. That's why I chose to get the band so I can rid myself of the over-eating and hopefully reach my goal by this time next year. Anyway, I did keep most or all of my shirts over those years. They were so super huge on me now and I was looking frumpy and with outdated clothes from years and years ago. Needless to say, out they went. I was left with maybe 5 shirts! I had to go shopping. The good part to all this is, I fit very comfortably in a size 1X shirt, and some were even a bit big. I made sure all my shirts fitted nicely though. I came away with the GREAT sales deals too. I bought 30 shirts, 10 pants and 6 new pair of shoes. My feet have definitely thinned out. I can wear shoes I know my big feet would not have looked so cute in before surgery. My best part was though, that I can squee-ee-eeze into a size 18 now. I did buy some and I even picked up a few 16's. I don't think I paid more than $20 for any item. Except of course my shoes, and one pair of jeans. I bought some Apple Bottoms from Macy's Woman. I also bought a formal gown from Nordstrom Rack for only $47. It is so beautiful and good quality. It had no flaws that I could tell. It is a size 14 and I tried it on. I can get it on, I just can zip it up - but soon. I have it on my bedroom door for display, for incentive. It's working!!!! Keep it up everyone - let us know about all those great things besides the scale going down!

You are so lucky to already have a fill. I'm sure I would have been fine if my Surgeon were to give me a fill, which would have been tomorrow. Oh well, I can't do anything about that. Keep us updated on what you are going through!

Here's one that happened about two weeks ago. I can cross my legs comfortably. When I'm sitting in my comfy chair of course. I can't do it at work yet because I can't fit the mountain under my desk... someday though!

Right now it will be 8. It would have been 6 but my Surgeon decided to go on vacation. I begged him to do a fill which would have been about 5 weeks, but he said NO WAY!! He said it would be too soon. :drool:

Ladies, try the low cal ice creams from Breyers, and the new 100 Calorie Klondike Bar... Soooo goood!!!

This is exactly my NSV as well. I have this super tight black pair of jeans that I could barely squeeze my big butt/gut in and I tried them on last week and they actually fit nicely. Another five pounds and they will be on their way to the clothing exchange!

This is me pretty much every day: B: EAS Myoplex Protein shake 6A S: Small Banana 8A S: FF Yogurt (for after 30 min workout) 10A L: EAS Myoplex Protein Shake 12N S: SF Fruit cup 2:30P D: Lean Cuisine 4:30P 35-45 minute workout S: 100 Calorie something or other 6:30P No other consuming after 7P! I am always hungry. I will even sometimes fish through soft foods in the fridge right after I just eat dinner. All I want is to feel full after eating a small meal and to stay full for more than thirty minutes. Augh!

Just getting over my girlie time. I won't weigh myself for another few days. Man! Why can't I just seem to control myself during that time? Love those salty things... and no first fill until April 11th. That really is awful, I feel like I can still eat too much. I know it's much less than before, but then again, I get hungry quick too. Someone help me!! Glad to see everyone else doing so well! I will hopefully get some good restriction with my first fill. It's less than a month away.

Pretty much. I couldn't stomach much of anything besides Water for the first two days. After that things started getting better. Hang in there, I've had two other major surgeries and this was by far the easiest. ...and WELCOME TO BANDLAND!! :blushing:

Nope, I just had my surgery on the 11th of this month. I was scheduled on March 28th, but my Surgeons office called me last week and informed me he is going on vacation for three weeks starting the week before that. I asked if they could give me a break and make my first fill the day before he leaves which would put me at about five weeks post. I don't think that is too much to ask, especially since I wish I could have a fill right now! My swelling went down quickly and I know I'm eating more food than I should - and I get hungry so fast. If not, I will have to wait until April 10th... we'll see. :confused2:
