    How to get out of the "eat what I want" Mentality

    That is a fantastic idea - one I have of course heard before, but for some reason it never really rang to me. This time it did, and I think you are on to something. As for right now, I'm just NOT eating anything I really shouldn't be. Chips, candy, pastries, fast food, etc. I won't until I get to goal, and I'm sure by then I will have broken my addiction to these dangerous foods. I may not even think about them by then. So far it's day 8 without any such foods and believe me, for me that's monumental. So when I get to goal, I will have the mindset that yeah, you can have that 1 oz. bag of Doritos, but be prepared to work off that 140 Calories by adding it to your workout routine.

    That's the way you do it Ezma, great!! Okay so I woke up at 3 am this morning and thought... heh, yeah right! You're sick - stay in your cozy warm bed and sleep another hour. Then my legs found the side of my bed and stood up. I walked to my coffee maker and shoved it down my throat, and watched an episode of Three's Company. Then I got my butt up, dressed and walked in the freezing cold to my fitness center. Yay me! LOL I didn't do anything last night though. Not so yay me. :thumbup:

    Okay, what's up with that? Everyone getting on those of us who drove up to Carl's Jr. for a Six Dollar slice of heaven drenched in BBQ sauce and topped with a three servings of Onion Rings dripping it that sweet necter also known as fish grease, sided with those salty delights called crisscut fries dipped in Ranch Dressing and a 32 oz. wash down of Coke? Hey two days is like an eternity!! C'mon guys... jump off that high horse will ya, a girl has got ta eat!! :thumbs_up: :thumbup:

  7. You really sound alot like me! GL on your surgery on the 11th. I too postponed my date a few weeks up because the date they gave me seemed too soon. Wow! I wonder if that was even the same day. Of course I don't remember now.

    Feb 11th 2009 Bandsters?

    HEY HEY HEY!! I just thought I would stop by here and extend my best wishes to anyone getting banded on 2/11. That is my banding date and could very well be the best date anyone could get banded on. I might have to check in with you just to see how you're all holding up too - making sure you are sticking to your liquids like a good bandster should. Remember, that is for healing - not so much weight loss. Stay positive and stay strong. Bandster life is rough, but the results are so worth it.

    Hmmmm... Cousin, is that you? What a d*ckweed!! You know that has happened to me before, and when the time was right to blast 'em I never did it. However yours I'm sure was a lot more money than I'd ever dealt with. Surprising but I still trust eBay from time to time.

    First I think the most important thing to keep in mind is to not get discouraged. Having a negative outlook, rather than positive leads down a road you don't want to embark. Instead, think of everything you have accomplished and consider what you have done to get there. Second, there are a very many reasons why you might be experiencing a little bit of a gain. Note here that 3 pounds is very slight on the blip of how much you may need to actually lose. You could be retaining water right now, for a great many reasons, even the fact maybe you are not hydrating yourself enough. Be sure to drink plenty of water. I tend to drink around 80 oz. per day, and I've noticed when I drink less I tend to retain more. Even not going "number 2" on a regular basis can be the difference in a few pounds per day. I remember not being very regular during the liquid phases. Third, even weighing yourself at different times of the day can have an effect. I do weigh every single day, but I do net get over zealous with it. I wake up, go potty and hop on the scale. That is how I do it, and if I were to get on the scale in the afternoon, I could very well be a few pounds heavier or even lighter (usually heavier). It is very common to gain a little during the liquid phase even. The best thing to do is to relax and it will happen for you. You sound like you are taking all the right steps to lose the weight, the only thing left to do is to be patient.

    I do still love pink too - but I like to change up the font color from time to time My laptop is pink too BTW - Flamingo Pink to be exact. You and me both... it's almost comedic. Wow, I haven't watched Real World since that one guy got kicked off. Which one? LOL CONGRATS!! Especially for sticking with it - that's a tough one. It doesn't matter how or why the weight drops, as long as it does, sit back and relish in it :thumbup: *Marking it down*

    Great job everyone! Shiny that is fantastic - I don't have the motivation right now to push myself since I've been sick since beginning December. I have an appointment to see my PCP on Monday morning. I'm sure I have a sinus infection and bronchitis or some crazy stuff. I did my bike last night and I did my TM this morning. I only did 30 minutes but that's ok. It's cold in that fitness center that early in the morning and I probably shouldn't have even gone, but I had to! Keep it up everyone! :thumbup:

    Since someone has posted here! Where is everyone? You February of 2008 bandsters - come out, come out where ever you are~ How is everyone doing? Struggling? Doing great? Hit goal? What? Like to hear from ya! No matter what we are all winners for taking responsibility for ourselves and undergoing a major procedure to correct it.
  22. Hi dolph! As long as you work hard to lose the weight and listen to your band you will do great! It's one of the best things I've ever done for myself. :) I don't regret it one ounce!

    Here is my workout routine every week. I have been faithful for a month now, but did drop off for some months, which I know contributed to my weight gain… L Oh well. *Picks myself up and dusts myself off* Sunday: 6:30 AM – Treadmill 5K; 6 PM – Stationary Bike 7 Miles Monday: 6 PM – Calisthenics (30 Mins) & weight training Tuesday: 6 PM - Stationary Bike 7 Miles Wednesday: 4 AM – Treadmill 5K; 6 PM – Calisthenics (30 Mins) & weight training Thursday: 4 AM – Treadmill 5K; 6 PM - Stationary Bike 7 Miles Friday: 4 AM – Treadmill 5K; 6 PM – Calisthenics (30 Mins) & weight training Saturday: 6:30 AM – Treadmill 5K; 6 PM – Stationary Bike 7 Miles

    I can only do a little bit of running mixed in with my walk on the TM. I'm at 36:40 for my 5K right now. I'm sure as I get lighter it will get easier for me to jog the whole time and get that time down considerably.
