    SHM, thanks for the advice! I think what I really need to do is just do what I can and be happy I'm even doing that. I couldn't even dream of running this time last year. Tap, agreed. I only worry that when I go easier on myself, that's when I let loose... grrr

    Ah, thanks :laugh: I meant that mostly in a joking way, but I seriously would like to be at goal by Dec. 31st. That's less than 10 lbs. per month - I hope I can do it! If not, well hey... anything to keep me reaching for it.
  6. Wow, todays time is not good. 42:30 - but dangit I'm doing it. I also got up at 3 am to do the TM so hey I cant be too down on myself. I burned 199.4 cals on the bike.

    I'll be doing my TM in the morning tomorrow too... waaahhh!!!

    Well I still need to lose 98 Lbs or something like that but hey, I plan to get to goal by the time this year is up - maybe sooner. It can be done. Those darn people on Biggest Loser lose twice as much as that in six months! Gah. :cursing: I'll get there...

    kjeter, its so nice to hear from you! Congrats big time on your goal! That is so fantastic... and I hope to be there this year. :cursing: I hear you about being too tight. I'm not sure of my exact cc fills but I'm around 5cc in a 10cc band. I have really good restriction, and for a minute there felt I was a bit too tight. Eating hurt and I really don't want to be that tight. I haven't gone for a fill in almost 3 months now, but I do have an appt set for Feb. 20th. I guess that might just turn into my one year check in! I'm doing really good since I've been checking in with everyone here. I fell off the wagon for awhile, but I think that is all behind me. I'm so glad!

    Did you exercise today?

    Yesterday: 10 Miles on stationary bike, 36:45 Today: Treadmill, 30:00 1.75 miles. Slow I know but I didn't want to wake up this morning but I did but was sluggish (3 am). :thumbdown:* Oh well, as long as I do it! Later today: 10 miles on stationary bike. Today is day three of 100 miles in 10 days challenge. After this week I am going to change my schedule as follows: M-F 4 am Treadmill... hopefully get back up to 5k... taking forever... grrr... 6 pm Stationary bike 10 miles MWF Calisthenics and weight training (following stationary bike). Weekends off!! I need to rest my body, and I need more time for leisure and play. :-D

    Valentine's Day Weight Loss Challenge

    I am up to 244.8 this morning... :-(... Oh well, it's to be expected as I'm surely retaining water right now due to women's reasons. I'm okay with that. I have been doing so awesome with my workouts and eating that I really can't beat myself up. It will happen, hopefully next week I'll have some better news. As long as I can get to 239 by Feb. 11th, I'll be super happy!

    I'm changing up my schedule some to do a challenge with a friend on here. We are doing 100 miles in 10 days on our stationary bikes. It's awesome!! Today is day 1... 1.5 miles of Resistance 1 1.5 m of Res 2 2.0 m of Res 3 2.0 m of Res 4 1.0 m of Res 3 1.0 m of Res 2 1.0 m of Res 1 All staying on or above the Endurance level. Okay, my time today was 38:20 I think I'll do some calisthenics later tonight also.

    Here is how mine will go:

    1.5 miles of Resistance 1

    1.5 m of Res 2

    2.0 m of Res 3

    2.0 m of Res 4

    1.0 m of Res 3

    1.0 m of Res 2

    1.0 m of Res 1

    All staying on or above the Endurance level.

    Ok question on starches

    I personally eat my veggies that are full of carbs. Beans too, these foods are not bad for you. So, if you're going to eat carbs, let it be through things like this. I do also tend to gravitate toward whole wheat versions of products rather than white. I'm not really big on the no or lo carb diet. I mostly go on portion sizes, plenty of exercise and eating foods rich in nutritional value. So no I'm not eating a Snickers bar or a bag of Cheetos, but rather a quarter cup of peanuts or a scoop of corn. I'm okay with that. However my dietician said these foods are okay (in moderation) and can have positive benefits. You should always follow what your dietician or surgeon mapped out for you. If you disagree, let them know and talk it out.
  25. Usually when insurance is paying for your surgery, you are only given very limited choices. I too from the moment I was referred to the WLS program to the date of my surgery was well over 12 months time. I had to go through seminars and dietician appointments for six months, yadda3. I will tell you this though, I don't regret one thing. Those dietician appointments really have helped me a great deal and prepared me alot too for things to come and expect. I am very impatient too, but I got through it. I am now coming to my one year Bandiversary in a few weeks. You can do it, and if you want this badly enough you might have to endure things you wouldn't otherwise wish to do. The only other alternative is self-pay. If your personal funds do not allow for it, you might just have to roll with the punches. Just come here every day and take your time. It will fill the void and you do learn plenty.
