texas, there are many bandsters who are able to reach goal without a fill. Some people are able to maintain good restriction and weight loss without one. You do still have restriction without a fill, so to say that there is no need in the surgery is just false.

Having someone else be mean and nasty has never worked to motivate me, why would I expect that from someone else? It is really, REALLY difficult... I know I joke alot but the truth is all the factors have to be right within yourself to keep the weight loss mindset. The band won't do all the work for you! I know this has been repeated a million times on here, but I really wish I could reach accross to all new bandsters to let them know this. Not in a negative way, but a positive one. Never lose that focus, and try as much as possible to continue that weight loss until you reach goal. Do not stray and DO NOT find ways to cheat the band. Once you learn how to do this, it's really really hard to overcome it. I find it much like driving. You have a destination, but to get there you have to keep your eyes on the road and follow the rules. Once you take your focus off, or make a serious mistake - you can end up in a bad way. Sometimes you recover, sometimes you do not. I'm trying very hard to recover. That is why I like to read about these kinds of stories. I really want to see if they are able to climb out of the hole... if they can get back to where they started. That way, I can be hopeful that I can too.

I'm also for this bill and I really hope it passes. I would even go a step further that prospective parents have to show they can properly care for the children they intend to bring into this world. So, If Mommie wants to be Mommie again after six kids, and these kids are on public assistance then Mr. Doctor can't perform another pregnancy. If bad luck happens later and they go on PA - that's another story. Anyway, I'm sure all of you get what I'm saying. Also, If I had to endure a psychiatric evaluation to get the Lap-Band then this procedure should also require that. Not for insurance but just each individual Dr. requiring it. ETA: I am only referring to In-Vitro or Artificial Insemination... not natural pregnancies or births. This can't be as controlled, and is almost impossible.

I wonder why they even give out loans for education like that. I would be more pro-School Grants if they would do it more honorably. Like say, the money goes directly to the school and the school keeps an account of how much you have to spend. Then whatever you don't spend at the school can either be saved for next Semester or returned to the fund in which it came. Again, I'm all for accountability. I am not shocked by this at all. It's plain to see she is all in this for very personal reasons. Nothing what should be about and that is the poor helpless children who desperately need a REAL mother.
