    im so frustrated !!!!!!!!!!!

Night, the whole process can be and IS extremely stressful for many of us. I went through many many months of Dr. visits and going from one Dr. to another. It’s all a part of the game. Try and take a deep breath and remember what it’s all about. If there is an alternative, I’d go for it. I did in fact. I chose to go to a Psych that wasn’t necessarily recommended by my insurance company. I paid out of pocket for it and the reason was the Dr. I was sent to kept putting me off. Then when he finally scheduled me an Appt it was a long time in the future. I’d already waited long enough. I hope all goes well for you. Just try to be more patient with those you are dealing with and for the time involved. You surgery will definitely be apon you before you know it!!

Yes tuna is a great choice. The 2.6 oz pouch of Starkist in water has 18g protein! Yum!!

Home Thread...for the thread homeless :)

For anyone with a Safeway (or Von’s) nearby… Turkey’s are about 7 bucks!
  7. Glammaw, I’m so glad you were given a small unfill. Being sick every time we eat is not fun. I don’t think it was meant to be that way anyway. Hang in there and with some tiny adjustments I’m positive you will find a peaceful middle ground. I have one scheduled for the 3rd of December. I’m hoping to find mine soon, in fact I hope that will be the last one I’ll need for a very long time! All the best,

How to burn more calories at the Gym

Southern, when losing weight the whole idea is to get our intake at a negative. Now, as far as personal needs, for me if I stay around 1200 per day I’m losing. However I have noticed that when I’m burning extreme amounts I tend to lose slower. I don’t know why, but that’s just me. My body burns efficiently with about 1 hour to 1.5 hours per day workout time. That being one hour cardio and half hour strength training six days per week.

    Sharon Osbourne's Band Out?

Hey there! Thanks J It’s usually pretty quiet here so it’s an easy job. :-D

    fat be gone

I am actually signed up for Weight Watchers Online. I really love it. I’m trying to settle in with a perfect diet for me that I know I can stick to. So far the liquid morning and lunch with fruit snacks in between and a sensible dinner is the winner. It usually comes out to about 24 points per day. I’m telling you, the band helps so much, both with the thought of getting one and the help it gives after! NO way could I do that before.

    hello again!

Hi there! Welcome J I’m not too sure if you will or won’t have to go through all the pre-ops as you already have. There are many factors going in. You have different insurance first of all, which all insurance has their own pre-op requirements. My advice would be to ask these question of your PCP, or if you already have a Surgeon ask them. I’m sure they will be more than helpful in your journey. You are also likely to find some answers in this section: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f8/

    fat be gone

Hi Take charge, welcome to LBT! This is actually one of the oldest diets I’ve known of, besides the most usual of just eating smaller portions and more healthy and good physical activity. I still do this on occasion and I have noticed I lose so much better when I’m doing this. I love chocolate so the protein drinks taste good to me. I have vanilla and strawberry too and even mix them together for a Neapolitan taste! Best wishes on your pre-op diet! You will be so happy when you succeed so hang in there! It’s more than just “worth it”. J

Home Thread...for the thread homeless :)

I don’t know about anyone else, but I really do love clipping coupons. You are so right Tracy, you can really save a lot. I find mine in the Sunday Paper, or sometimes what you might think are crap ads in your mailbox. I always find coupons in there. I find a lot in my boxes of food too, if I look hard enough. One time I found some coupons for my EAS Myoplex... it was great!! I don’t typically waste my time on the 25C here or 50C there for 2 or more or whatever. Unless it’s something I really need. Then and only then. I usually find great deals on coupons, then I check the Sunday Paper ads to find out where it’s on $ale. That’s some good shopping for cheap, cheap cheap!!

    Aaack! Help! I'm freaking out!!!

Yes it is true every surgeon is different. I actually take Aleve and was only kept from it for the first three months. He wanted to wait until the healing process was complete before ok’ing it. I only take non-prescription strength and never more. I also make sure I’m eating something with it to prevent any ulcers from forming. Not to say they never will but due to my arthritis and other things, this is the only medication that has ever worked the best for me. The good thing about Aleve is you don’t need it as much or as often as your usual NSAID, but still can cause some issues. I suggest anyone who has questions about using any NSAIDs should definitely seek one on one advice first from your bariatric surgeon. Especially if you are taking more than the recommended dosage and getting Rx strengths.

    Sharon Osbourne's Band Out?

She has had her band for a long time now. Most have it removed by then anyway. Good for her on working on the head issues. As I’m sure many of you have heard before… “They band your stomach, not your brain”. It’s always good to work on the head stuff too if you’re really going to defeat the demon. I also thought it was a bit funny when it was called a “big ole rubberband on her tummy”.. LOL J

    Aaack! Help! I'm freaking out!!!

Hi Strange, I think it would be a really good idea to seek medical help from your surgeon with this one. Please let us know how you're doing!

    measuring food/feeling full?

I like to think of meat as in oz. My nutritionist suggest 3 oz of meat per serving. Then half cup of veggies and if I'm still able to eat more then maybe a little bit of other sides.

Glad to know it's not just me. I moved this to the right area, where it's more likely to be seen by those who would have the answers. :wink2:
  25. Glam, I totally understand! I feel the exact same way. I am also still dealing with trying to find that perfect spot this is not too tight where each bite causes pain and sliming or being able to take huge gulps like pre-band days. I'm very close now and after 2 minor unfills and 2 re-fills I'd say one more tiny one aught to do it. I also don't want to constantly worry that "oh this is gonna hurt so much if I eat it". That is crap! I want to be able to eat bread... as long as it's whole grain and healthy. I want to be able to eat eggs. I want to be able to eat healthy fruit... I mean really. I didn't sign up for a liquid diet. I hope you are able to find that spot and soon. I'm going in for another one in a week or so. I'll try to fit it in right after Thanksgiving and before Christmas.
