    Let's play a (new) game!

    hand..........
  3. That will happen for you, it happened for me. I used to be on 4 different HBP medications before banding and weight loss. Through my hard work and efforts and surgery that helped so much - I am now down to one pill a day. It's the HCTZ and to be honest I probably could give that up too. It's the lightest dose available and my blood pressure is around 110/70 and sometimes lower. I just don't want to go through the Water gain that comes with lighter or no doses! LOL :bored: I wish you the best! As long as you keep in mind it's no easy task and you stay on track you will lose the weight, and you will keep it off.

protien for clear liquids post op

Isopure is a clear liquid and the Special K makes a mix in, however it only has 5g per 16 oz of Water. Not really worth it to me. I also get these packets from walmart - Search results for Beneprotein - Walmart You can mix them into your jell-o or in anything really. You can also try the Protein shots from Walmart called Super whey protein by Body Fortress. It has 26g per vial and has 110 cals. They are only 1.99 each too.

So scared to get rid of fat clothes!

Get rid of them right now! Never plan then plan to fail. I wish I had gotten rid of all my old fat clothes as soon as I were out of them. Since I'm on my way back down again I didn't hesitate, so now if I gain weight I'll have to go around town naked! LOL I think my biggest reminder is the fact I take pictures of myself all the time. I have pics of when I was at my largest. That right there is the only reminder I need to never get like that again!

    Very bad day

Hey no one's perfect. I'm a PERFECT example of that! Just don't allow how you felt the last two days to totally de-rail all the hard work you've put in. I think it's really important to stay realistic. We should be ok to have something we truly enjoy sometimes, or it's just going to start feeling like "another diet" and we will tend to blow it on binges. You likely need a little fill, but what you really need right now is some support. DO NOT GIVE UP AND DO NOT BEAT YOUR SELF UP! Just stay focused and just let that day be Water under the bridge. You are doing really great. And yes, I do believe if any one of us didn't have an unhealthy relationship with food, we would not have needed the extra help of a lap-band.

LOL!! Same with me... it's so strange.

    flatulent...
  10. No I don't mind at all. I also am required to maintain my PCP Dr. visits at least every six months. As well, I'm given blood panel requests every 3 months. I've seen a nutritionist about 3 times since surgery. Now those are likely all things you will still need to do regardless of which surgery you have. It can pile on for me though along with all the fills/unfills I've had. I'm not trying to dissuade anyone from having the Lap-Band. It works for a great deal many people, and I think that's great! If you choose the band I really hope it works for you too. I think IMO the main factor with the Band is you're not just going to lose the weight. You still have to work for the pounds lost by eating right and getting some exercise. You have to stay focused!

    Encouraging Words Needed

Hi Breeane! I went through a little time off too. Well, okay more like a year's time off. I gained some but I'm losing again because I'm back to being a good bandster. You can definitely get that feeling back that is so important to weight loss. I'm positive that once you set some goals in place, however small they may be at one time, you will find that flame grow inside again. :smile2:

six years out and having eating problems

Wow you're very fortunate! I wouldn't consider food to be unappealing to be a bad thing!! LOL :smile2: I should be so lucky.

back and forth, back and forth

You're definitely not alone! I was banded in February of 2008 so it's been nearly 2 years now. I've been going in for fills about every 4-6 weeks since. That's alot! I get too tight and I take some out, I'm not tight enough I get some put back in. I've decided finally that some of us will probably never find that perfect sweet spot. I think for me the best I can hope for is some restriction but not enough to keep me full for 5 hours. Once I start getting a little too restricted I get the night coughs, swollen throat, reflux... all that. It is what it is though. I just have to mostly rely on my will power more than others I guess.
  14. mom2, I know I'm going to be in the minority in this sentiment but if I had a second chance I'd go for the sleeve. It is an incredible amount of aftercare with the lap-band (at least it has been in my case). I wasn't given the option of sleeve though so I never considered it. I also didn't have the money to be able to get elective surgery outside my insurance plan. It's solely your decision though. Weigh your pro's and con's. Make a list and definitely get tons of research on both procedures. Good luck!!

    What is your favorite laxitive?

I would try upping your fiber considerably. We as busy humans rarely get enough. Most bandsters tend to stray away from carbs altogether and this really doesn't help the situation at all. I eat Fiber choice chews (2) every night and I really like to even eat a bowl of Fiber one Cereal after my workout too. I'm not as regular as I once was but since I've been keeping up with my fiber I notice its alot better situation. Good luck!

    Seeking removal...

khash you sound too tight... perhaps you should contact your surgeon about that. riff, mrl - the band is not for everyone. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. Perhaps the sleeve would work better. I wish you all the success, weight loss is a very touchy and very difficult situation. :-(

    Not Eating Enough?

If weighing daily or regularly makes you uncomfortable and feeling discouraged I would definitely not do it. Everyone is different on this. Me personally it's the only way for me to stay on track to weigh every morning. Then some people only weigh when they see the Dr. It's all a very personal choice.

    Biggest Loser 2010

I completely agree. I at first was rooting for him because he had the most to lose. But now that I see he is not motivated and is a huge "mommas boy" it totally turned me off. I really don't know who I'm rooting for... really. I'm finding this season a bit boring again. I hope it picks up soon! Last season was awful. I know! I was so mad! He always does that. I think he has one of those needy type personalities. He always wants to feel needed to feel validation or whatever. About the mysogenistic view.. I don't think that was the case. If anything I"d say I'm more along those lines. I've always felt they should have one male and one female biggest loser. IDK I just think it would be more interesting. I think the cattiness of women and the male egos would flow through more. Enough with the crybaby men already... its making me ill.
