Thanks Suzie~ I know I should. I do most of my posting at work and things had been super crazy busy for months now. However last few days have seen some light in those clouds as we've finally acquired new staff!! Hooray!! I'm trying not to overwhelm them with too much training. I want them to come back tomorrow... Yay on the new fridge! I'm a little jealous, but you just made me want to go buy some new kitchen appliances. Sounds like you have alot on your plate today Kat, but it does sound like fun too. The "fake smiles" cracked me up. Well take care everyone!

No spoilers please!! I need to avoid this entire website on Wednesdays. BTW how is everyone?

Why do docs try to get us to do GB?
LilMissDiva Irene replied to merrywait's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is absolutely true. I believe anyone looking into ANY of the WLS need to be truly thorough in research. Do not make your mind up before you've noted all your options. The Lap-Band is not for everybody. It's not easy. It's not a miracle diet device. I will not do your workouts for you. It will not make your food choices for you. Sometimes it doesn't even keep you from feeling hunger or true fulness. Just stating some facts you may want to think about. Just know what you are up against, everyone. Also, may I remind everyone to remain respectful of any/everyone's else's opinions on here. Not everyone is going to agree, and we should all remember that. Everyone is allowed to be here unless the Site Owner/Admins/Moderators think otherwise, regardless of motives or point of view. With that, happy posting. -

Its ok don't worry about that, I'm doing pretty good too. I havent lost anymore weight but ya know... it is what it is! Hey, you do whatever is best for you. I think that is great - please keep me in the loop on how you're doing!!! I think if that is the surgery that gets your best results then that's what you should do.
Hugs!

That's so interesting you say that. In her show ending show-off she told everyone "I fell in love" but she didn't say with whom and that person obviously wasn't there - or if he/she was they didn't make mention of them. But yeah, they are both cute and single... why not? I only wonder if that might be a problem down the line as surely Stephanie watched last night's episode and gets to find out who told her pink friend he thought she might have threw that weigh-in... Sam's cousin. Of course, you know Sam is on the same team as Stephanie... so, there ya go... Drama... drama... drama!!

Roll call!! Come out, come out wherever you are! It's been 2 years since we were banded. How is everyone doing (good or bad). I myself have pretty much struggled almost since day one, but I'm going to keep trying! HAPPY BANDIVERSARY VICTORIOUS VALENTINES!!!!

Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor 2010 Goal Challenge: Let's do this!!
LilMissDiva Irene posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not sure if many of you have been following any of my numerous posts, but some of you may know I’ve been struggling a lot since about 6 months post op. I was banded on February 11th 2008. I have had many reasons on why I've struggled but I think the main factor has been my almost inability to find the “sweet spot” so many people have been fortunate with. Some found it before even needing a fill! How fair is that? LOL Anyway, that has been so very frustrating for and began to make me feel like I were some kind of miserable Lap-Band® failure. Well, I’d gotten it in my head since then that I’m just going to have to do this mostly on my own. Just to take the cards I’ve been dealt and use a band that is only half what I was promised it would be and deal with the rest. Stop brooding and just do it already. Here’s the fantastic part. With all my many fills/unfills it was just recently that I HAVE FINALLY FOUND MY SWEET SPOT!!!! What a wonderful feeling it is! I’m hardly ever hungry, I get full fast (not pain full just “full”) and I’m starting to get to where I don’t even notice I have a band anymore. I do, but I don’t. Does that make sense? Life is truly good!! So that makes me even more ready to get the ball on the ground rolling! I have my goal picked out. I have my date picked out. I have all my WL artillery ready to go. It’s time for War now. War against F>A>T!! I was thinking of starting a blog or whatever, but heck… LBT has been there for me since day 1! It has been so helpful, so resourceful and so supportive… how could I ever think of taking the rest of my journey elsewhere?? I’m posting it in this area because I wouldn’t mind any interaction from those of you who are also promising themselves goal sometime this year. It doesn’t matter if you are getting banded this year, just newly banded or if you have been banded since the beginning of time. Chime in, weigh in or just follow along. I’m good with all of that. One thing I have NEVER doubted was whether or not I could get it done. It was always just WHEN. Well, that time is now. Who’s with me? I won’t begin my regimen until after the Holidays. I absolutely won’t damage my go getter attitude with another failure attempt. I already know this time of year (The Holidays includes my Birthday and Anniversary) is off limits. Always has been and always will be. It’s ok though. It’s a part of life. My goal date is October 31, 2010. I have about 85 Lbs to lose. That averages to 8.5 Lbs per month. I have a new Wii Wii Fit Plus Jillian 2009 and 2010 Gold’s Gym Wii Game Home Elliptical and Spinner BodyBugg with 6 months pre-paid service Lax job that allows long walk breaks Lap-Band® Slim Shots for hungry days (though I haven’t had one in awhile…) Great Support System at LBT!!! Please someone tell me how I could go wrong with this? All are welcome to join in! What is your goal for this coming New Year?? -
Health care reform passed
LilMissDiva Irene replied to kirafiki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for this most amazing stance. I also like to think of it like this... I am SO FORTUNATE to even have it good enough to have health insurance. If my insurance even goes up one dollar, may that ONE DOLLAR SAVE SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE. Amen. PS, if anyone is truly scared they won't be able to afford health insurance anymore... well... I guess you'll still be covered... no? -

Melin, with all due respect - we are talking about HUMAN LIFE vs. MATERIAL POSESSIONS. I really don't think there is much more I can say... -
Health care reform passed
LilMissDiva Irene replied to kirafiki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amen! I also will pray with this new reform you will find it easier to get what EVERY HUMAN BEING deserves. That is the right to LIVE should their life become in danger due to health concerns. I am absolutely shocked that even one person would deny another person services that could save their life. We are all in danger of being in that situation. We are all only a single paycheck away from not being able to afford it, to lose our homes, to not be able to provide for those we love. It absolutely sickens me to see anyone who thinks they deserve such services above someone else. Who do you think you are to even feel that way? If you child was dying and *forbid it* you somehow lost your Health coverage... what would you do? Everyone deserves this right, and yes it is INHUMANE to think otherwise. No, this is no perfect solution - but as I've already mentioned before somewhere: With every house you start with the foundation. That's what amendments are for - to make it better. Best of luck to all my fellow human beings who ARE praying this health care reforms takes hold. I wish you all the best, and I'm in your corner. --signed someone who has been insured for years and also feels everyone else SHOULD BE TOO! -

Why do they keeping saying this won't work?
LilMissDiva Irene replied to NewDadMiami's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Could be largely due to your eating habits? I would have said your co-morbidities but you mentioned not having any. There are many options out there, all tailored to different needs. I would research all before making such a commitment. -
One that doesn't rely on a host so much! The rule is simple, I'll type a word and you reply with ONE WORD that first comes to your head. Easy! So I'll start: Band

Smoking??? Any Smokers out there???
LilMissDiva Irene replied to Shelley8882's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Dr. didn't get more specific other than saying, look - you're getting surgery to be more healthy, so quit smoking too. Sorry I coudn't be more help with that. I've never smoked but one cigarette my whole life and it made me so ill! My port does hurt still from time to time and I was banded over 2 years ago now. I tried mentioning this to my Dr. and he said it's common even years later. He's not a bad Dr. but I'm not sure if that's good enough for me. I mean it's never *super* bad but ya know... if I knew it'd hurt all the time I don't know if I would have chosen the band. Anyway, best of luck! It's a struggle no matter what! -
Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor 2010 Goal Challenge: Let's do this!!
LilMissDiva Irene replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello there caramia, You know, it's so funny you bring this thread back up. I've struggled up until about last month. I received *yet* another fill - but somehow - someway it has turned out to be a crazy miracle fill. Usually by now I'm struggling again with hunger and amount I can eat. Not only that if I were to get more I'm sure I'd start falling into the "too tight" category. But, this time it has been so fantastic. Before this last fill I was thinking about revisions and maybe even just taking the band out. But, after the fill I've been eating small portions and really haven't given second thought to anything associated with dieting. I pretty much eat what I want, when I want. Sometimes healthy, sometimes not. I've slowed down on my exercise too. I do maybe 5 days a week for about 30 minutes per day. Very miniscule to what I'm used to. The great thing is though I'm averaging about 1 Lbs lost per week. Again, I'm not even trying. I'll ride this for as long as I can, until then I'll just live my life. -

Have you reached GOAL???
LilMissDiva Irene posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi! I'm researching the VSG. I am banded and I'm just making absolute sure this time that this IS what I want to do. Anyway, I've been reading alot and I have noticed how many more people here who are either close to goal, reached goal or have surpassed it by more than 5 Lbs. That is so incredible! I need to lose 100 Lbs still and I want to know how feasible it would be to make goal in a year's time. I am making this multiple choice, as at the last few options could also apply to you. Thank you soooo much everyone! Thank you for any/all responses! Irene.
