No problem, I'm always glad to help out when I can. :thumbup: As far as the weight loss, I'm stuck again but that is because I've not been the best right now. I'm going on a 2 week low carb diet to prepare for surgery so I'll likely lose even more before then. I'll start it on Monday the 30th of this month. It will help alot and jump start this whole thing because I'm telling you, there is no stopping me until I hit my goal!

Heya CG Janice :thumbup: I actually had a phone consult with Dr. Pompa herself and she answered all my questions without hesitation (however uncomfortable, I didn't give an inch). She sounded like an excellent professional and I'm very impressed with her. You will do more than fine in her care. However, her rates run neck and neck with Dr. A - and since my surgery is already booked and most of my plans are set I'm sticking with my original plan. I have absolultely no reservations in choosing Dr. A, and my decision to change surgeons would have been purely financial. I'm not worried at all and I know I'm in excellent hands! His staff has been stellar in helping me get set up for the trip and everything else. A++++ for Dr. A's crew! :scared0: As well, I found out yesterday that I'm getting help with half of my surgery through financing so I'm all set to go! Now it's just a waiting game... *taps fingers*... This will come in super handy when I'm ready to go on my major shopping spree when I get to goal!! Soo can't wait... :svengo:

Dogbone, absolutely yes, you do still feel hunger with the band. The notion that you won't is absolutely untrue. I felt unsatiable hunger since day 3 after surgery. I went through absolute misery during that time. It was only by sheer dedication that I made it through that time! In fact it was all me 110% during my weight loss with the band. Once I became dissatisfied with my procedure it made me unhappy, and tied in with my unfills I gained most of my weight back. :thumbup: I'm ready to start over again, and I know I've found the procedure I was only looking for to begin with! This is one of my main concerns with the next surgery I do. I wanted to find out exactly how many patients to get hunger satiety. I never had this with the lap-band, even when I was very well restricted. Good luck and Congrats on your recent surgery!

Hey Daisy! Haven't seen you around in a few days! :001_tongue: So far everyone has been EXCEPTIONAL with the advice, comfort and assistance for someone whose nerves are already a wreck. Thank goodness for them because I would be so lost! I have made an excellent choice by far!! I have also decided to do any follow up there from my surgery. I know there won't be a whole lot because this surgery does not demand it but I know I'm going to love it and won't mind the few times I have to go at all.

Aha!! So THATS where I know you from Ok, no shout outs for me huh? That's ok, I'll live (maybe) LOL In the interest of all the DS'ers out there that love their WLS, I WOULD do it if I had to. Again IF I had to... but like WASa, I will surely do all I can to prevent that. :crying:

Wow what a great idea! That is fantastic you found some friends to chat with here and go through the process together. I'm going to start a thread in hopes that I'll find some with the same surgery dates as I will be. So, you all have paved the way for the rest of us! All the best to all of you! That is an excellent challenge BBJ! I know you can do it In the interest of this thread picking up I have to say, I have not even come close to making my goal. I've only done 10 miles so far. There's no way I'm going to do 11 miles every day for the rest of this month so I'm going to bring it down a peg. I'm going to make sure I'm doing 30 minutes per day excluding Fridays. That is very doable. Now, I have been spending so much time researching this thing, I'm finding it quite difficult to get much workout time in. Good luck to all! Dee, thanks for that explanation. IMO, workouts has been my only saving grace in keeping this 50 Lbs off that I lost pre banding. Congrats to you and all your success!

I looked a little further in, and during the application process they have you select a drop-down for the procedure you want to be insured with. One of the selections is"Gastric Banding AKA Gastric Sleeve". Now, this does have me a bit worried. One is not the same as the other, so it is not considered an "AKA" - (Also Known As). I would definitely look into this further before putting my money down on it. What if I need to collect on a claim? I'm not getting the Banding, I'm getting a Sleeve. Probably best to call and get confirmation first.

Oh yes, try to get in touch with her. When I called and a representative called me back I asked to get a phone consult with her directly. This was Friday and the last email I received said they are going to get me one possibly Monday. Well that's today, so we shall see! It never hurts to look around for the best possible situation for yourself, while ensuring you are choosing someone with the safest surgical team.

I know several people who have gone to him and was given his information from them, however - all this info is also on his website. Check it out: Alberto Aceves, MD-FACS Certified Bariatric Surgeon However, not to dissuade you from Dr. Pompa! I have done some research on her too and she's a very good, very accredited surgeon. You would do fine going with her as well. :svengo: There may even be a chance, albeit slight that I would switch and be revised by her.

Yay!!! Super excited, and very nervous of course. It's gonna happen though.. Sept. 14th with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. Revision here we come! I really can't wait, I've been wanting to start over again for a very long time. So, out with the old and in with the new. Instead of a Bandiversary, I'll now have a Sleeversary. I hope I will celebrate this day now instead of cursing it. :scared0: YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually for the first time, today started to think about how fast 3 weeks will go by, and then got the butterflies a little bit. I also got it a little bit when I called the hotel to set up reservations for my Mom who will be going with me. Scary!!!!!

Hi Calgary, I just checked out your surgeons website. It sounds like you have made a fine choice! All the best! May I ask, what are her rates? I am getting a revision which certainly costs a bit more than a sleeve alone, but any information would be helpful. Your surgeon seems like a lovely lady. :thumbup:
