    Stalling so soon????

Christie, thanks that is really valuable info. Once I start hitting my solids or foods with more calories and substance I'll stick to that rule too.

Anyone had any experience trying to get coverage for the Sleeve surgery from this insurance Provider? I have Hills Physicians specifically. I have placed a question in the "contact us" email inbox for my provider and will need to wait a few days for response. If I don't get one by Wednesday I will call. Thank you!
  8. Becca, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by being judged - but you can't let anyone tell you what you know is right for you. That would include being banded at first, and it means that right now for having it removed and getting the sleeve. I too experienced a great deal of pain from my band the entire time since surgery. I was chronically in pain in the port area for goodness knows the reason. My band surgeon never took the time to find out. My band and I got off on the wrong foot since day 1. We were never meant to be, and for that I'm glad to be rid of it. So, if anyone else thinks it's MY fault that happened and I lost all complete confidence in the band to produce any help to me then so be it. Especially someone who is currently banded... I really don't care. What does matter now is I've found the perfect WLS companion for me and it's working a miracle I had ORIGINALLY thought the band was supposed to give me. That is taking the awful feeling of hunger away and making me full super fast. Well it's done all those things so far and then some. I couldn't be happier!!!! To be perfectly honest I was NEVER this happy on day 10 Post Op with my band. Nope, not at all.

    What an EXCELLENT idea!!! :scared0:

    How long was your revision?

Dr. Aceves posted my total surgery time at 1:31 - which I was originally advised by him it could take him up to 3. It would all depend on how complicated your particular surgery would be, but if you relatively have no bad issues it shouldn't take all that long. Good luck!!:scared0:

    I'm craving roasted vegetables

No problem Jordien! I have HBP too (though I think I've finally rid myself of it, need to make a Dr. Appt to find out) so I too look for those things. :bored0: I don't want it back either so I'll always try to find the lower sodium products! I had a little bit of yogurt today which is the first thing I've tried since my clears phase and I felt ok eating it. I only got in 3 oz (half the bottle) and that was 5 hours ago and still feel satisfied. I know though its about time for me to eat again. I'm gonna just have my Unjury protein chicken soup and try again tomorrow for more creamy foods. Dr. A told me to take my time and be patient with myself, and is exactly what I'm doing. :scared0:

    Stalling so soon????

GG I just wanted to mention this is an excellent post! I completely agree, and even though I sit here and wonder for a split second WTH I did to myself I am quickly reminded that had I not done it - I would still be gaining, etc. I needed something that wasn't so easily cheated. I have an eating problem and I will try to get as much in as I can. This will only allow me a tiny bit - any more and I will regret it. I won't have any room for garbage food either so I'll be eating food that will nourish my body. I already love my sleeve! My stall should be coming soon and yes, I'm positive its going to be because I'm adding more solid foods and more calories to my diet. There is no way it will last that long because the fact is, calories in will be less than calories out. But just more than I was doing on all clears, so it will take me longer to lose that full pound. There are other factors that go into it too, such as Water retention (even eating slightly too much sodium can do this to us), menstrual retention for the ladies, adding strength training to the workout (muscle mass), infrequent bowels, etc. Just a few thoughts that might be the culprit. :scared0:

    I'm craving roasted vegetables

Loved the nightmare! I've also been having some really bizarre dreams lately too. As for the soups, I was just comparing labels and I chose the Campbell's Healthy Requests. They have significantly lower sodium and almost double the potassium. I will need to puree some of them because they are a bit chunky (nothing fibrous) and then strain it, but still~ It's gonna be good!

I'm being SLEEVED on Sept. 15, 2010 by Dr. Aceves!!

Thanks Daisy! I will appreciate that! Not too much to report today, except that I was able to wear a pair of capri's size 18 that I haven't fitted since last summer... :scared0: That is all. Have a great day everyone!!

My play by play / Dr Aceves and my sleeve

LMAO!!! Sorry had to giggle a bit... only because it was last week I was doing that too. Some people (can't even say who right now because I was so sedated) tried calling and talking to me and all I could say was "uh huh" "uh huh" "ok sleepy".................... LOL!! Don't worry you will be fine in a few days and helping those on their first few hours. Hugs!!

Anna, congratulations lady!! You have always been such a supporter of me and many others, and this post does that even more. May your journey continue to be as successful!! I'm so very happy for you!!!!!!!!! :glare: :cheers2: Oh those are A&W Root Beers by the way. Always been my faves... lol Wonder if I'll start dreaming of those myself. :wink0:

    I'm craving roasted vegetables

LOL No kidding! I've already noticed some changes in my cravings. I did crave some cheez its a few days ago, but I think it was more the cheese flavor itself that was driving it. I can have some melted in my Soups day after tomorrow!!! Yeah! But seriously though I was buying all my soups today for my next phase and I was choosing ones like, broccoli or tomato - the healthier ones mostly. I was more excited over the healthy soups than picking out my puddings or fudgesicles! This surgery is a downright miracle, that's no lie!

    General Everyday Pain

I was told I can start taking NSAIDS of any kind after 30 days... giving the tummy some time to heal over... but every Surgeon is diffferent so I'd say you should go with what your surgeon tells you.

    450 pounds, 23 y old, TERRIFIED!

Oh Emma I really do know what you mean. I'm still struggling to get all my fluids in even today. I'm on day 9 too! But whenever I get on the scale in the morning and I'm a Lb down it makes it a little bit easier to deal with... lol :biggrin0: Seriously though, every single day will get better and better. You will stop asking yourself what you have done and start thanking yourself for taking the step to getting healthy!

    Help! I need FIBER!

I was at the grocery store today and in the oatmeal aisle it looks like Quaker is now making a High Fiber oatmeal. It is in the packet box so that's even better! It has 10g per packet!!

Emma I'm so glad you checked in! You sound like you are getting better every day and that is what counts. Sometimes the recovery can be a bit more bumpy than some, but stay strong and positive - we all know you will be fine. Baby steps darlin~!!! Walking will help with your recovery and is Oh So Important. Good on you for making sure you're doing that. Be sure to get your fluids in too! Blessings!
