    what does it feel like?

Well gonna be honest here... the recovery is quite a bit harder and longer than the band. My eating still feels the same as the band too, so I guess I have a good handle on knowing when it's time to "stop". I can't cheat though! You know how you drink fluids and it blows the food right to the bigger stomach? Yeah, none of that. Pretty much once you get that signal, that's it for ya. And I'm talking REALLY TINY portions too. I couldn't even finish a whole egg with some sausage and cheese for dinner tonight. Good luck! I know I'm absolutely over the moon for my surgery. I seem to hit stalls then drop a ton in a day or two so far. I'm only a month out too and pert nearly down 20 Lbs already. Go me!! LOL
  4. OMG stop that! I just BARELY nearly hit 20 lbs post surgery and I'm a month out!! You are doing great! Don't sell yourself short lady, check in and boast your losses! :-)

    mexican surgeons

Well I highly recommend Dr. Aceves in Mexicali... however I'm biased. He did my isty bitsy sleeve and he has so many patients that post here - you wouldn't believe! Good luck on your decision. I'm sure you will make the right one for you.
  6. Anytime! BTW loooove the new profile pic!!!!

    Need help with protein

I actually digest chicken and eggs better than anything else I'm eating. I do eat some bits whole, and chew chew chew! Since I was banded I'm a pro at the chewing. I know you must be too since you were as well. I do puree most of it though but not to a goo... more like to tiny bits (if that makes any sense). I think the goo would just be nasty to even look at. It doesn't look bad in tiny bits. The chicken soup is a great idea too, and I do only eat thighs (boneless, skinless). Chicken breast is much too dense for me right now. I know, I tried... If I can maybe suggest to you... maybe only eating tiny bites throughout the day? Maybe you are getting too full? I know you've mentioned you stop early - but maybe even earlier would help. Just a suggestion... Good luck! I can imagine how frustrating that must be.

    Need help with protein

Jordi you are only 5 days behind me. You should be able to eat tuna by now, however (and I know you've heard this a billion times already) everyone's different. It sounds like your tummy is just taking a lot longer to get into the food groove. You are doing the right thing tho by resting your tummy after the episodes... good for you! Hugs! I hope it starts getting right soon. I mean, I have to admit - I didn't start feeling more myself until I was able to get my Protein in naturally. I still fight some morning fatigue but as the day goes on I feel better. Maybe try some chicken instead? That was my first trial with natural protein besides eggs. Hope that helps...
  12. Enabled - Only when I approve them in the drop down menu, then save. HTH

  13. Actually yes they can! LOL!! I found that out last week. You have to go into your settings and change that. Here's what you do: Go to the top of the page next to your profile picture and click "Signed in as sleeve..." and you will get a dropdown. Click on "My Settings" then "Profile" tab. Second option down is "friends", change that to ...

    Need help with protein

I just had some baked chicken thighs - boneless, skinless baked in chicken broth, lightly puree'd... hard boiled eggs, grated... mushed together with some mayo and mustard... very good! Packed with protein!
  15. Back on my Blood Pressure meds again. :-( Oh well... water pills DO have their advantages - LMAO!!!

  16. My body must have known today is official weigh-day! I'm down another .8 Lbs. :-) Totals 15.6 since surgery day and 24.6 since pre-op diet. Not bad!!!

    Facebook & Twitter Integration

I actually have an avatar account for Sleeve Info only... so I can see this coming in really handy. Now I don't have to update my status there AND here too. Nice! However, I do not discuss my surgeries with anyone on my personal FB account.

    20 lbs. GONE

Whoooooooot!!! You go girlie!! You are doing so excellent, and I'm super happy for you!! I seriously can't wait until I weigh less than my Hubby. He weighs 206, it's going to be awhile for me. It will be good times then too because I will be soooo close to Onederland.
  19. Lots have to double up on the Nexium, or even try another PPI product that might work better for them. I've tried Prilosec and Prevacid. Both work excellent but both are still not enough for me, though they both do work better than Nexium. I'm going to contact Dr. Aceves office to see if I can double up also. I do also think a lot of the nausea is probably acid related too. Once I started take the other two medications I've had zero issues with my nausea... (except that one time I tried to take my multi-Vitamin and Iron on an empty stomach, but that would've happened without my sleeve! ) Anyway, good luck! Hope you feel better soon.

    Eating and drinking with sleeve

I also drink up until I eat, then I wait for about 30-45 minutes after. It's all a guesstimate too. It could very well be 20 minutes or maybe an hour. I admit I don't actually clock watch or anything. I am pretty good at guessing though because I did this with my band for years.
  21. LOL! Um yes, I was... I was not looking to upset anyone, but what I said needed to be addressed plain and simple. I don't want anyone to think that steak a week out from surgery is a good idea, because it's not. But anyway it's been resolved and we can now all move on. Anyway FJM I think you're doing fine... So about eating (yay!!), yes the string cheese is such a life saver! I think it does go down a little slow for me but not anything so much that I won't eat it. I can't believe on Friday I will already be one full month out from surgery! Last night I had some Wonton Soup... OMG it was soooo good. The noodles were nice and soft. The insides were mashed up shrimp and I believe some kind of pork sausage. I actually had a tougher time eating the chicken that was inside the soup. It was worth it though... and I even went back for more a few hours later. My body is so starved for food! There was an ad on TV last night for Wendy's Chili... still wanting to try that out soon. I'm going to on Friday night in fact for my One Month Sleeversary. I'll see how I do and definitely report back. The difference between each passing week is a lot. I remember the week before I couldn't even tolerate two itsy bitsy bites of tuna, now I can slowly eat almost a whole small pouch (mashed with Lite Mayo of course)... all in a weeks time. I have some leftover chicken thighs, baked in chicken broth (boneless skinless) that I need to eat more of. Wow I can barely eat even half a thigh right now. I'm just glad to eat though... know what I mean? Anyway, this has sort of turned into our "eating thread" of sorts. That's cool! We need that... or at least I know I do.
  22. Prayers to you Sasha... and welcome to VST! Please let us know how you do with it.
  23. Oh, I am so glad! Please take care of yourself. If you start feeling like you need more sustenance then my advice would be to contact your surgeon or nutritionist. We are all in this together, and we ALL struggle... believe me! I personally have some fatigue issues. Even the more I'm eating I still feel this way. I'm hoping it will go away soon, I have so many things to get done and can't seem to find the strength to really do anything. Good luck!
