  1. Well, I had extreme nausea post op and even vomitted one time. I also dry heaved a few times and came very close many times to vomitting. This only lasted for about 2-3 days post op though. However, the nausea does come back sometimes still - but I've noticed it's only when I eat something I really shouldn't be eating. I also was very fatigued for weeks post op. I'm sure it was because of the clear liquid diet and not getting in even 400 Calories per day. My body is not designed to take in such a small amount. My body runs quite efficiently and posting great losses on about 1,000 to 1,200 per day. I'm at about 1,000 right now and feeling better every day. I'm also six weeks post this week so I should be able to easily get back into my workout routines. I'm very positive it should only get better from here. Those are really the only minor complications I've had, but in reality those complications are quite common and nothing much to become worried over. I'm actually doing quite well, and certainly am very happy I did this! Time goes on and I will get better and slimmer!!!!

    3 Months Post-Op

Outstanding!! How awesome for you both to be able to go through this journey together! :-) If I may say so, you truly don't look like your weight, you carry it really well. You are going to be the belle of the ball once you're at your goal! Congrats to you both!!!!

Awesome!!! I can't see any photo for some reason, but I'm sure you look amazing! :-) I hope I can do these things too someday - to feel comfortable in my own skin. Whooohooo!!

    negative people

Well lucky, personally there isn't much you can do to change anyone else - luckily though you CAN change yourself. You have to take a good look inside and ask yourself why you feel that someone else's opinion is enough to make you change your mind. You need to make sure you are absolutely ready for this, whether or not anyone else is. This is a very major decision, not one to take lightly enough that someone else can change you. If you are absolutely sure then that this is the right choice for you, then just ignore what anyone has to say. If it gets too much then just keep your plans to yourself. Everyone you know doesn't have to know everything. Keep it to those who have a vested interest in your health, anyone else - you are just opening doors that really need be left shut, IMO. All the best!

One month post-op, down 36 pounds!!

Wow you are doing so fabulous! Congrats to you on being so successful :-) Now you made me realize that I need to get my walk on more like I'm supposed to. I'm only doing about 2-3 days per week and that is for me not so good. I'm also 6 weeks out this week so it's time to get back on my elliptical and stationary bike and get back to reality and normal life routines. Thank you so much for reminding me of this!

    what is going ON!!!

Good luck lady! I'm pretty positive you will see good results though - some people's bodies just work better with more calories. I think you're one of them because of the loss you had the last time you did that. Check in and let us know!

How often do you get on the scale?

Once a week on Wednesdays only - that is my weekly marker day from my surgery. Also, I do weigh on the First and Last day of every month so I can keep track of how many Lbs I've lost for that particular month. Then one last day, I weigh on the 15th of every month to log the Lbs lost from the monthly marker day from my surgery day. Got it? LOL So really it's just weekly plus an additional 3 weigh-ins per month.

    scared, leak, please help!

I am so glad to hear you are feeling better so far KKB!! I pray you will continue on your road to complete recovery - and that you will begin to eat by mouth again soon. Hugs!!!
  9. So is it wrong of me to be glad it's Monday tomorrow? I'm always super good with my eating during the work week. Even though it really hardly feels like I'm even trying now... I can eat solids really well now. Tiny portions of just about anything. Life's Good!!!

Awesome! Ya know I do love Summer, you're very lucky. We're just hitting our sour seasons here and I feel great. I wish I could go out and do more fun stuff, but the weather just stinks. Keep up the great job!!
  12. He was my surgeon as well as countless others here. He is one of the best sleeve surgeons not only in Mexico but anywhere in the world. His hospital and his staff are A+, you will absolutely love everyone and everything about your experience. I only had a few very minor complications - but no leaks or anything like that. Thank Goodness! Best Wishes!!

    A happy but strange feeling

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!! Nothing wrong with keeping it going, IMO unless you are pulling for underweight... LOL but that would be like an 18 BMI. Anyhow, you have done amazingly well. I see a lot of folks here who make goal and beyond. It's always nice to have that extra 10 or 15 to ride with, that way you will always have time to catch it and make it right before it gets too out of control. Thanks for sharing your success!!!

OMG I can't breath.. I won my appeal!

:rose:  Yay!!!!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!! You will be so glad you stuck it out... it's over and beyond worth it!!!

    5 Months Post Op

:youcandothis:Christie, you are such an inspiring lady around here!! I always look forward to seeing your progress posts... so totally amazing! You look so great, and I'm super happy for you! Keep up the good fight sister and you will make all of your goals, never ever doubt that. I'm pulling for you and the 11 Lbs to the Century Club!! Go Girl!!! :cool0:
  17. I really won't claim to even guess why you're stalled or gaining. However I did notice that your Proteins seem slightly low and your fat intake is very small. I've heard that when doing a High Protein regimen you have to eat fats as well. I personally don't count my fats, however I do try to eat low fat when I can. Like when I add Mayo to something, I eat light or whatever. Also with this type of eating plan, you really must drink a lot of Water. It will flush the fat out of your system that your body lets go of. Let us know how you pull through! It could just be an annoying stall. We all get those from time to time and really have no real rhyme or reason. For me, I am a slightly slower loser than others, but my weight loss has been pretty consistent. I think the longest I went without any loss was about 5 days, but that was water retention. Once that flushed out I was back to losing.
  18. Ah okay, that makes sense. And you are right, I believe too if you you were meant to have a boy - and only had one living male spermie vs. a billion female spermies - if it's God's will you will have a Boy.

    head in the shed

Awww hugs coops! Sorry to hear you'd gotten so ill! My Mom had pneumonia a few months ago and it nearly scared the pants right off me. I thought the worst, but she's perfectly fine now. Just get some rest and fight those demons girl! I know you're really going through it but just know you have friends here who are gonna support you!

    Down but not out

Sleeve that is exactly how it happened for me. It was pretty incredible. The path just opened wide up for me to get this surgery, with money, time off all that. Keep the positivity Niki - you never know what the future holds!

    Uggghhhh....annoyed

There is a far distance between wanting to gorge yourself with food because you WANT to rather than just wanting to eat something/anything because you NEED to. This is something very hard to explain to others that have never been there. I have, and I can tell you it is something worthy of sympathy and an occassional "Don't worry it will get better". Everyone has the right here to express their support in any way they see fit as long as it does not go against the forum rules. Fleur, I do understand where you're coming from. Though my bouts has not lasted as long as yours is, I still went through it. I do hope you get to feeling better soon, and it WILL get better! Hang in there!!

10 Lbs per month is excellent! If that's true for me I'll be at goal in 9 months!!! Wowww!!

    Sleeve and teeth

Oh boy, I hope this isn't true!! Anyone been out for awhile and can break us down on this?? I know I did have some awful teeth pain right out of surgery and needed a root canal, but since my teeth have been great again.
