    Breast changes

I agree, it might just feel a little different because maybe a lot of the fat tissue is losing it's way from the breast tissue. I hope the ultrasound turns out fine BBJ - please let us know how it goes.

    Made it home, very surreal!!

Congrats Sandy on your new banana!!! You pulled through like a champ, in which I know all of us will. We are all some tough ladies and gents - nothing will hold us down! Please keep us updated... the days go by fast and soon you will start to forget that you even had surgery. I only remember when I forget to eat and my lil tummy starts acting up. Then I try to feed it but after a few bites it's had enough... lol It's surely doing its job! vicki, your up to bat in only a few days. I know I personally had many mixed emotions before my surgery. It's no small deal, you are making a huge step to a new life. You're not feeling anything weird or out of ordinary. But rest assured, you will soon be on this side of the fence - and the grass truly is MUCH greener over here.

    FUN QUESTION FOR SLEEVES

Oh I wish I had done this! At my largest ever I had a pair of Navy Blue slacks - size 28W. They were even getting a bit tight on me even. It would have been nice to have them around for a little morale boost when the scale isn't cooperating. :-) I sugges this for anyone! Someday though I want to go into a store and bring a size 28W into the fitting room and see how it fits on me now. That would serve the same purpose I guess, since my pants are long gone.
  5. I just saw on my Facebook that Ruby (from the reality TV series) was going to be on the Today show discussing this very topic. I wonder if there's any way they would replay it? It's getting a lot of buzz out there... I'm so glad! Persecution of the overweight and obese really needs to stop. This is NOT OKAY!!! ~~~ETA: I wonder if Oprah might address this as well - as she has struggled with her weight in the public eye for over 20 years now.
  6. Good morning my fellow losers!! I have a little bit of an NSV today. I have a pair of Size 14 pants that I'm actually able to wear out in public on today. Yay!!! :)) Now, I'm not gonna get too far ahead of myself, I know they are probably made big, but oh well. I'm rockin these sob's today!! ;o)

    Drain OUT, but now worried!

Dr. Aceves just put a large gauze over it with medical tape and said it would close up from the inside out. He said I should change the gauze daily and it would be ok like that. He was right.
  9. Good deal ladies, I'm afraid I just wouldn't be able to keep my composure myself. I am still in awe of how she did (like pefferment mentioned) called overweight people "fat". That to me is akin to, and should be considered a four letter word. Maybe I'm being overly "sensitive", but seriously don't really care. People just need to be more considerate of others feelings. I mean she basically raked all overweight people over the coals and wasn't even being soft about it. Bitch... yes.

My Mom is considering the sleeve...

Well I just received an update from my Mom. Her Dr. replied to her email and said that her BMI is only a 36, and is only classified with ONE Co-Morbidity of High Blood Pressure. They do not consider borderline diabetes as a Co-Morb apparently. So she'll either have to work out more (believe me, I'm not just saying this - she does need to do this) and watch what she's eating better (this too...) - or - and as I suggested to her already, pay to have it done. There's no doubt who I'll suggest for her... LOL
  11. OMG that lady is stark raving mad! I cannot believe how insensitive she was. It was like she was writing for some "I hate fatties" magazine or something. I don't even know what to say or how to respond. Also when someone has to retract their original statement and apologize, I always think its more about themselves than really being genuine about it. She would not have done that if majority of replies agreed with her. You can't think of all that, actually write it down and hit "Submit" after (seeing as she's a writer I'm sure she does this) PROOFREADING it a few times AND not really believe what you are writing. I will never buy that magazine. Also, who is editing her stuff? You know several folks read her article before it being publicized. That is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

    Regrets?

Just today I am six weeks post op. Lap-Band regrets? YES Sleeve regrets? NONE I love my sleeve so much that if I had to get the band first to get my sleeve, I would even do THAT all over again. Any day. I'm down 22 Lbs since surgery day - and every single day I get smaller and smaller. It's to the point now that I'm getting comments and compliments DAILY. It's very nice, and it makes me want to try even harder.

I'm new! Ready for a new life

Welcome to VST blueeyes! Take a look around, you will find so much information here. If not, start up a new topic - everyone's always willing to chime in with support. I totally understand the "wanting to live again" thing. So far and every passing week that is becoming more a reality for me! I'm so thankful for my sleeve, I almost find it too good to be true. Though it IS true!!! Pretty much right after surgery you will be on the liquids for about 2-3 weeks. I didn't find this to be too much trouble really, because to be honest I didn't even have any kind of real appetite anyway. It was very different feeling, one that I've never really known before. That was my first taste of TRUE freedom from the beast of gluttony!! However I still get my spells of having cravings. That's all a part of being a woman, but again - those cravings are pretty much squashed after a few tastes of whatever I'm craving. I also don't crave them on my other times. I just eat to live now... not live to eat. I've never really understood that statement until my Sleeve. That's a huge deal, especially knowing that I used to have a Lap Band.

    Wow thanks!! That is great.
  16. Well I posted no loss this week -- but I won't let that get me down. I know why it is, and it's unpreventable. I do weigh again Saturday, so I'm going to drink drink drink and flush flush flush!!! And do my workouts of course! ;o)

Sizzilng September Sleevers Monday Check In

Hi d1!!! Welcome our Home Thread! Papillon, I too feel that I forget I have the sleeve a lot now myself. Especially when I'm drinking Water. I tend to try to drink it too fast - then I get that unsettled feeling in my belly and I'm quickly reminded. Gah! Have to stop doing that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well my weigh in showed no loss at all, which is what I kind of figured. In fact it says I'm up about half a pound. I'm not shocked at all. However - it actually feels more like it's a victory! Usually in a case like this I'd be up from 4-5 Lbs!!! To me that's incredible! I'm taking no negativity away from this weigh in. That means once it flushes completely I should end up with a great loss! Whoot! My next weigh in is actually both Sunday and Monday. I always do an official weigh in on the Last and the First day of every month. I like to see how much I'm recorded for being down in every one month. I hope I'm not being too confusing. So with that I'm going to work really hard to make sure I'm posting a loss for Saturday... wish me luck y'all!!!!
  20. LOL Daisy! I guess I wasn't too clear about what I meant. I was talking about Television stations -- not the nurses. The nurses all were able to understand my needs very well, and usually there was always one that spoke perfectly good English.

    4 days post op

Hi Angie, and welcome to VST! Congratulations on your recent surgery!! I did have some back pain shortly following surgery. It started up around day 2 and lasted up to a week. I think it was a combo between gas pain and only being able to sleep in the same position so much. However if you feel more concerned, definitely contact your surgeon. I am also a stomach sleeper and it took me about a week or more to start sleeping on my stomach, and even then it was needing to be done with a lot of care. I think after about 2 or so weeks I could sleep on my stomach pretty comfortably. All the very best to you!

    My Story

Hello Jane and welcome to VST Thank you for taking the time to write us and tell us all about yourself. I can tell you a great deal of what you have gone through out your life, I have as well. I would even go as far to say many here have. Keep posting and looking around. You would be a great addition to our family!!! If you need anything, please let me know. Enjoy your stay, and get comfy -- there's always more room on the losers bench.
