    IRRITATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Hi Mini!! I actually heard that Google Chrome is really good about blocking ads. Just a thought!
  2. Until you purposefully and SUCCESSFULLY get through the tough times, you cannot truly appreciate the good times. :) Blessings to all - and be safe this New Years Day!!

    Recommendations needed ladies!

I took a suggestion from someone here at this website, that Kohl's actually have some good choices. I bought some Lilyette bras and they push up really great and (as Tiffy suggested here) they stay in place and are very comfy to wear all day. Not expensive either! I'm trying to keep my shopping lesser than in price right now, because I honestly don't know how long I'll be able to wear any one size. Before surgery I was wearing a 40D, though it should've probably been a 42, but I REFUSED to buy anymore big clothes!! Now I'm wearing 36D very comfortably, and it hasn't even been 4 months post op yet. I still have around 80 Lbs to lose too...
  4. Well IMO you really came close enough to say you pretty much did make it. :) It is so true, I'm such a streaky loser that I'll lose 6-7 Lbs in a matter of days then nothing for weeks... it's ok though! I know I'm losing! I'm even sitting here in a pair of jeans I absolutely couldn't fit before surgery, and right now they look like I got poopy pants... haaa!!!

    Girls only!!!

It is VERY common for out of whack periods during weight loss. Mine seem to come about every 25 days instead of every 28 - and I'll begin spotting a little bit even a week before the actual Aunt Flo comes to visit. It stinks because I feel like I'm always having to have a supply on stock everywhere I go, when I shouldn't even have to be thinking about it... I do believe Mommy2Girls that yes, you're one in a million!!!

Needing ideas for Low Carb while on full liquids/Mushies

During this phase I ate a lot of pureed Beans, meats w/lite mayo - I didn't really mix things up a whole lot. I knew (being previously banded) that this phase won't last forever. I just had to stick with my recommended meals until I'm ready to start eating normal foods again. Here is something good though, rotisserie chicken, puree'd with lite mayo (skinless of course!!). Now that's some good stuff! Super juicy and tasty.

    pizza??

I'm working on my 4th month out and I can't even eat half a tiny slice of pizza. I wouldn't exactly even attempt it during my mushy stage. Try to get through your recommended post op diet phase until considering things such as pizza. You need your tummy to heal for right now.

Anyone up for a P90 challenge

That is great! The P90 (I always only heard of the X version myself) seems like an incredible and intense workout. I have a ways to go to get to that level yet. Like mommy I've been working out for many years. In fact I've always had it in me to be doing some kind of physical activity my entire life, or as far back as I can remember remembering. Right now my schedule includes 5 days per week of treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, calisthenics, muscle toning and my Nintendo Wii. I have everything I need at home in my upstairs spare bedroom. I love it!! I will intensify my workouts as time goes on, and the smaller I get - knowing its harder to lose as we get smaller and our bodies become accostomed to the amount of calories we eat and how much we burn off daily. *whew* Long winded sentence there... Let me know how you like it!! I might try that for starters once I get past my Billy Blanks Bootcamp DVD's. Then I'll start P90X, and finally Insanity. Once I complete Insanity - I'll never do another DVD again... heee!!! Some workouts I have on my wishlist are: -Taking yoga classes -Running a full marathon -All those DVD's I already mentioned -Boxing Lessons -Martial Arts Lessons all the best!!!

    Got Poop?

I am very adamant about fiber, even to the point where I try to advocate it as much as possible. I strive for NO LESS than 14g fiber per day. Hi Protein diets are all well and good, but not when it comes to negating a prime nutrient our bodies absolutely needs - and that is fiber. Believe me, if you aren't going then you are holding on to pounds worth of poop!! So, going daily will keep you lighter just as good as Hi Protein. I go every single day. Some days its not all that great but I still go, and I won't change a thing. Fiber Choice chews are really good. They are not bad in carbs as compared to some chews. I also have one thing a day that supplies a hefty dose, such as Hi Fiber oatmeal or Fiber One chew bars. Drinking more than your daily minimum (64 oz.) Water also is a must!

My Mom is considering the sleeve...

Honestly I've told her all these things. For some reason she's just taking what her Dr. told her and not doing anything more about it. She's either not fully on board with getting the surgery or was never really totally serious. It's her decision to make, so I don't really bother her with it anymore. If she tries to fight for it though in the future I will be there for her 100%.
  15. Hello everyone, First of all, I am super stoked about my surgery! I am truly, madly and deeply head over heels with my new tummy!!! LOL Sounds weird I know - but dangit, my life has been given back to me. I'm no longer a slave to my brain overindulging and my stomach being able to allow it. Not sure if that makes sense to anyone... Anyway over the weekend my Mom told me she would need a magnifying glass soon just to be able to find me. Haha! I thought that was hilarious. She's so happy for me, and super proud of me in that I had the guts to do something so invasive to take my life back. Well in that same conversation she told me she's thinking about it now for herself. She never once said that to me when I had my band - even when I was in the losing phase. I'd lost about 60 Lbs in a short 4-5 Months (then it stopped but that's a whole other topic) So, I'm not so sure why this time she feels differently. Maybe she seen me struggling more than I remember myself with my band. I mean if I seen someone choking on their food everytime they ate just to lose a Lb a week I don't think I'd want the band either. But I digress... Anyway, I immediately told her "Great!!!" and I truly meant it. I told her that I really honestly felt like I'm losing a great deal of weight and I'm not even doing anything for it. I'm not doing my workouts like I normally do even... so I can imagine how much I will once I get back into my routine full time. However, here's the thing... as the day drew on I started to remember what I went through for the first few days, then the entire month of my surgery. I started to feel true and genuine worry for her. My Mom is going to be 61 years old in March - and she has worse Hypertension than myself and she is borderline Diabetic. My Mom would also likely have a surgeon I've never heard of because she is a Kaiser patient. She would go through her insurance. I am a little bit scared for her, and I will definitely go through with this WITH her and support her. However I won't lie, I'm scared for her very much. I guess I just needed to vent a little bit... I would feel so guilty if anything went wrong because I was her motivation for doing this surgery. *sigh* Oh well, now I know how it felt for her, no? :-(

  18. I made myself a coctail of a protein drink. It's going to add 175 calories to my daily total and 22g protein. Yum!!! Let's just say I found some use for that lactaid milk - and milk never tasted so delicious! It's like thick Quik. :)

    Caffieine we

I was drinking Breakfast black tea around that time post op. I used Stash or TAZO. It has a good amount of caffeine. I'm not sure what your surgeon suggests though, so this is just what I did.

    Why am I so thirsty?

It makes perfect sense that you would be thirsty. A lot of Water and fluids actually used to come from the foods we used to eat. Well, now you're not eating hardly anything. You have to get all of your fluids from your water or whatever you are drinking. Take it one day at a time. It does get easier every day. I used to be constantly thirsty too in my first few weeks out from surgery. I drink tons of water now, and I can now eat as well. I'm no longer slightly dehydrated and my thirsty mouth no longer bothers me.

After surgery, I am looking forward to...

Hugs SrSleever!! I totally feel you on a lot of that. My husband weighs 210 Lbs. You better believe I'm looking forward to being 209... but the booger is deciding its time to diet now. LOL!! I told him wait awhile on that... Haaa!!!
  25. If your mushy stage is the same as mine was, then yes. It was any kinds of meat pureed like (I didn't eat raw anything though). Just mush it up really good with your favorite fixins - mine was lite mayo and enjoy I didn't really eat spicy until I was a few months out, but that was just because I felt weird about it. Like it burns my mouth, and gives me heartburn, what's it doing to my healing stomach? Again, that was just in my own head though...
