    PB2

I use PB2 by the suggestion of my Bariatric Dietician. I love it! I can't add a lot tho because the flavor is a bit overpowering. A little bit goes a long way.

    Body image and distorted views

@@Roo101769 Some good things to look forward to are the longer you are at goal the more time passes and your skin is able to retract to a more normal size. Likely your skin will never be as tight or supple as we were when we were young but it does catch up to an extent. Also, drinking plenty of Water and toning helps a LOT!! Make no mistake it really does. As you get smaller start taking baby steps to get toning in and you will see it will start to tighten up the skin and fill it out with a more desirable shape. All the best and you aren't alone in your feelings! That's for sure.

    Why,Why,Why!

My advice is to get it together right now. You will have to realize that eventually you have to make right decisions to keep the weight loss happening as well as staying at goal. If you can't fix it now it will be ten times harder once the honeymoon phase is over. Good luck.

For the love of sweet Jesus.....

I would like to remind everyone that this website was created by Alex. Until he makes a rule that everyone should only search the forum before, during or after thinking of posing a question then none of us have the right to tell another member what to do for support. Also, it's no one else's business to tell another member where and what to read here. Anyone can read any thread anywhere they so choose, otherwise this space would be reserved for veteran eyes only. For anyone considering moving on to another website please reconsider. There are many of us here, even ones that have been posting for many, many years that are happy to answer your questions, myself included. I may take time off but I do come back with a fresh face, but I can never remember lashing out on anyone who just wants a little support. This is a very scary decision and everyone has the right to seek one on one here. Irene

Marriage and Sex after the sleeve

I will piggy back Bella and Megan and say all of this is likely a result of insecurity from your affair. Losing weight does mean we become more attractive physically to others. Other men will start noticing you, and perhaps he is seeing you're becoming more attractive. My husband and I have been married going on 19 years and what has kept us together all of this time is communication. You MUST communicate with each other your needs, your concerns and how you're feeling about the relationship at all times, no matter how much the truth hurts. Do not let feelings fester because they start turning into resentment. You need to have a one on one with your husband. Don't turn it into an argument and don't be defensive. If you love him, let him air his grievance and move forward together. You might need to comfort him and assure him that no matter what you will never do anything untrustworthy again if that is what the problem turns out to be. I'm only guessing, as are any of us - even yourself. That's why it's better to get it from the horse's mouth. One last thing, make sure you are approaching him at a good time, no distractions - and do not talk to him if either of you are hungry. It sounds funny but it's the truth!
  15. Just wait... they will come. Then you will get them so much you will wish everyone would just stop. When this happens, just remember I told you so.
  16. Hi Lindsay Welcome!!! It is a very exciting journey to be on, and as time goes on you will find it more and more every day. I never had to go through the bowel prep so I can't say what that's like... lol I'm sure it's for the better. Keep us posted on how everything is going for you!

can we do sit ups or crunches.

Of course when starting any new workout routine clear it through your surgeon or regular Dr first. That said, majority will agree that after 6 weeks you should be healed enough to do most workouts. Good luck!
  18. Hello @@itsmekarenlee - I am revising from sleeve to bypass. I'm having extreme gastric reflux. It is what my bariatric surgeon has recommended for me, so is what I am going to do. Long term reflux can lead to Barrett's (pre-cancer) and cancer, both I do not wish to play around with.

For the love of sweet Jesus.....

@@Scylla most times old threads don't apply to each individual exactly. It's perfectly okay to post your own thread whenever you want. Also, just me if I see an old thread I'm less likely to even look at it. Ask away, that's what this entire website was created for.

For the love of sweet Jesus.....

I don't recall anyone in the thread saying they don't like the OP anywhere and I've read every response. I believe in freedom of speech, but with that freedom comes consequences because everyone else has a right to exercise their freedom and disagree or agree with any statement. That said, I would like to say that when I see threads like this, here is what I really see: "Hey fatty, why can't you just eat right and exercise?!?" Haven't we all been ridiculed enough in our lives? Why do we need to do it to each other? It's not funny to me at all, and this place is here for support, and these types of posts, this one and the hundreds before it are far from supportive in any nature. Whether some find it funny, refreshing (and if you've been here as long as I have you wouldn't find these refreshing anymore) or any other way it just isn't for the hundreds of others in the line of fire. For anyone who does find this sort of thread funny or otherwise, I invite you to take a look in the mirror and reflect on why you do. One last thing, these threads are actually not allowed here whether it be in Rants and Raves or anywhere else...

    Sleeve to Bypass revisioners?

Oh my I'm very sorry to hear that. All of this couldn't happen soon enough. Turns out for myself the coordinator has not even submitted my packet to my insurance yet. I wasn't all that happy about it, but with how I feel I just want everything done yesterday. I'm sure you understand as you are suffering. Please keep in touch and let me know how you're doing.

Could vitamins be making me nauseous

Hi @@shelly75 - Perhaps your stomach is not quite ready for the regular large pills. Most post ops will use chewables for the first few months, and I also had to sip it down with a Protein shake. Vitamins and minerals as well as Iron are quite hard on the stomach. Bariatric Advantage has a lot of chews, or try finding some bariatric Vitamin chews at places such as costco or Sam's Club. Best!

    Barrett's Esophagus

The bypass rocks too... either one you still have to do all the same to make it a success. I encourage anyone that has pre existing conditions that could cause you another surgery down the line to just make the best decision for yourself. I wish I'd known at the time of my surgery that GERD is a bad combination with the sleeve, I would have just gotten the bypass first. Now I am fighting for a revision to the bypass as I am having bad complications. All the best to all of you!
