Surgeon recommended roux n y, I was thinking sleeve
LilMissDiva Irene replied to suekistar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Travelmego Yes you can revise from the sleeve to the Rny Gastric Bypass, but why would anyone want to have a surgery going in thinking they want to revise? One bariatric surgery is difficult enough and with every revision the complications skyrocket. It's always better to choose the best surgery for ourselves by making that decision with looking at all of the pros and cons of each one and getting suggestions from our bariatric surgeon. I am revising from the sleeve to the bypass due to extreme GERD issues which is causing a lot of other health issues for me. I wish I could just stay sleeved but I can't, it would kill me eventually. That is the only reason any good surgeon would revise someone, for medically necessary reasons. -
@@Mrs.Fox which Protein shakes are you using? Have you tried sampling any others? Post op Protein shake trials are like starting all over again. There are so many flavors and brands even types out there, there has to be one that is at least tolerable to you. Good luck!

Nom Nom Nom - Yasso Greek Froz Yog Bars - 6g prot & 80 cal
LilMissDiva Irene replied to NMJG's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I love frozen greek yogurt. I do have a rule for myself though that I do not eat anything that has more than 8g sugar per serving so I take a light and fit Greek yogurt by Dannon and freeze one! Of course the fruit is on the bottom so I have to stir it up first before freezing. -
Do you miss anything about being Fat? (You're Old Body)
LilMissDiva Irene replied to HalloweenBaby24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely change now. I was over 330 Lbs at my highest ever. I know for a fact that if I didn't start changing when I did I'd be one of those people showcased on my 600 Lb Life TV show. I have no regrets even admitting that because admitting you need help is always the first step in changing your life. Best, -

Discouraged and Heartbroken.
LilMissDiva Irene replied to Lisa's Hope's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I personally went to seek out professional help. It is NOT easy to overcome losing loved ones, especially more than one or in your case your best friend and lover in this world. I cannot imagine... I went to see a psychiatrist as well as a therapist who helped me deal with the issue of grief and losing loved ones. I had about 4 sessions before I started to feel well enough that I didn't need to go back, but I do have her information should I need to see her at any time. I was very helpful. The fact is if our brains aren't in the right place we will not be able to function in the capacity that is necessary for weight loss and/or maintenance. That is my advice at this time. Go talk to someone, get some help through this awful time in your life. Go as long and as often as you need to. In the mean time I will pray for your strength and that someday all you will need are the good memories to get through each day. I would love any advice you could give me. I need to get back on track. I'm so down on myself and I know that if I don't do something, I will get back over 200. The weight will be here when he is gone and I know this is a hard battle. I'm so distraught!! UGH.. why can't I be strong enough to not let this happen again! I'm losing in everything. -

Dear @@Lisa's Hope, I'm praying for you, your husband and for your family in this difficult time. I won't try to give you advice on how to get back on track. TMI........ BUT WHEN WILL I POOP
LilMissDiva Irene replied to Rebellious Butterfly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a very normal issue post op, even years out. Try things like Miralax daily, dieter's tea (Senna) or Senokot or even use the Probiotics LIVE cultures. Again they have to be live, not dead like the ones in the yogurt. You can open the capsules and add them to your Protein shakes. Good luck! ETA: There are sugar free Vitafusion Fiber Gummies. I use those too because our fiber intake is very low post op. It's already lacking pre-op! -

Attitude change!
LilMissDiva Irene replied to Bmjohnson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
IMO there is no way to change your outside without also changing your inside as well. Who you become as a thin person can also be worked on, just like you workout your body and eat right to make the right outcome. Pay close attention to how you are treating others because it is a known issue that we can feel upset or angry as we lose weight. We are forced to face our demons head on and it's rarely pleasant. We no longer have food to make us comfortably numb so we have no other remedy! If this person is a good friend then I recommend talking with him and ask him exactly how you are changing in personality? Is it for the better or what is it about the new you he doesn't particularly care for. Sure we can all say "who cares if he doesn't like the new you" but in reality that is just ridiculous. If we thought that about everyone we will end up alone. Perhaps you need to reel in your feelings a bit more? I don't know... but just be aware that post WLS life does include us changing in a lot of ways personality wise. Just remind those you are close to that no matter what your feelings for them as a person won't change, and keep that communication line open for them. Best, -
What are your thoughts regarding Bananas?
LilMissDiva Irene replied to Butterflyhigh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Butterflyhigh my bariatric dietician never said we shouldn't eat bananas or fruit, but she does stress that one serving of fruit is a half of one medium piece. So perhaps instead of having both bananas and strawberries, use half serving of strawberry and one quarter of a medium sized banana? Fruit has so many positives even though yes it does have carbs and sugar. I'm studying Nutrition as well and fruit has way too many good benefits for me to ever consider never eating them. Of course you should always do what's right for you! Good luck on this crazy journey. Irene -
