Possibly adjusting my goal weight
LilMissDiva Irene replied to Candace2314's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did the same thing. I adjusted my goal weight from 154 to 165. When I get there I'll see how I feel and if I want to lose more, I will. I say, change it to 150. See how you feel when you get there, and again if you think you want to lose more then go for it! Nothing wrong with that at all. -

7 Months, -65lbs, and photos!
LilMissDiva Irene replied to M2G's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
M2G -- WOW!! Ok, we must stop putting negative labels on ourselves. You have done FANTASTIC!! This is not a sprint, it's a marathon. I know we've all heard this before, but we have to remember - we are in this FOREVER. So it's taking you (and me) a little longer than some others to lose so much - but I'll surely take this over NOT losing or gaining like before my sleeve. YOU. LOOK. FANNNNNNNTASTIC!!!!!!!!!! Hugs my friend!!! :bananahuge: -
WLS is "the easy way out"
LilMissDiva Irene replied to Derp's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm with David and his response. I don't plaster it everywhere that I'm losing weight and how. It is VERY noticeable though and I get stopped and questioned pretty much all day every day. It seems to me that is all anyone wants to talk about with me anymore. It can be a little bit annoying but then again, I'm sure everyone is simply curious. If they tell me, "Wow you've lost weight, good job!!" I simply say, "thank you..." If they ask me HOW I did it then I'm honest and I tell them. My most common response to this is "Thank you. I workout, and I eat healthy. I also had WLS that reduced my stomach a lot and it keeps me from being hungry all the time too." That pretty much seals the conversation, and everyone I tell this too is always positive and great about it. I don't usually go into much more detail. Normal everyday folks don't know the difference between any of the WLS. I don't even go into details unless they want me to. I would feel like a broken record otherwise. I do have a lot of more things to discuss besides my weight and how I lost it. Anyway, I'm just saying this because my scale does not define me. Neither does my surgery. But... if someone is genuinely curious I do discuss it with them. I have yet for anyone to tell me this was the easy way out. I tell them otherwise before they even have a chance to. -

Question for those 8 months post op or longer
LilMissDiva Irene replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, sure do!!! I notice a difference in how I feel when I don't. If I forget my calcium/magnesium/potassium - I'm getting muscle cramps. If I forget my B's or D's I'm feeling really lethargic. I have to take my vitamins and iron too. Iron (and B-12) because I'm anemic. I just like taking my vitamins, they just make me feel good. I do also take my Omegas, but not every day. Maybe a few time per week when I remember. -
I'm sorry you're having such a rough day!! One thing that annoys me to NO END are inconsiderate people. I guess I just like to be treated the way I tread others. I take care not to park to close to others - etc. You might want to just give your Dr. a call to see about your stitches coming out. It's probably not a big deal, but you never know!! More trouble is better to catch now rather than later. I do hope your day gets better! If it makes you feel any better I also try to eat more normally in the company of others. I don't know why this is but it sure makes for misery later. It just makes it MORE apparent how different I am when I'm holding my belly looking miserable. LOL!!!

I CAVED :-(
LilMissDiva Irene replied to samantha209's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think our new Number 1 rule is: Never self-loath. We've done enough of that in our old lives. Today is a new day... get back on track. Every single morning you wake up, it is a new opportunity to get back on the weight loss wagon. We have to learn to balance "temptations". I personally don't see anything wrong with eating delicasies from time to time. However if you have it in your brain it is forbidden, you're going to want it all the more. Instead, enjoy the cannoli... just one -- NO GUILT!!! As long as you're doing the right thing 99% of the time, and you are moving your body to work off those extra calories, and more you will do fine. Let us not become obsessed. I know I have a hard time with that concept. I'm learning and doing better though every single day. -

4th of July - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???
LilMissDiva Irene replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Claudia, Whoohooo!!! That's how I lose... I'll have a few very slow weeks, then bam a few weeks of big losses. Of course I like the latter... lol newme, hey it happens! Last thing you want to do is beat yourself up, the cycle will just continue. Forgive yourself and get back on track. Hugs!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I forgot to update my weight yesterday! I'm only down a half pound from last weigh in. I know why though, I've really been slacking on my workouts. I've only been doing about 2x per week for the last few weeks. I felt a little bit of burnout from training so hard for my 5K. But... it's a new start of the workout week for me, so it's back on and crackin'!!! I'm NOT going to change my goal. I'm really REALLY gonna work my tail off to make it. And away I go.... !!!! ____________________________________________ SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal LilMissDiva.....199.6..............196.4..........180............16.4 -

Hi Daisy!!! I'm glad to hear your surgery was a success and you are being well cared for. Send us those pics when you can! I am seriously considering having my PS's done down there too... but we're talking years down the line.

Right now my favorite beverage is the Skinny vanilla Latte at Starbucks!! 90 Calories for the Tall - and the tall is perfect sizing for me. I don't really drink a lot of full strength coffee... so this has me buzzing... lol I usually only have half caff in the am's but sometimes a nice sweet treat is in order.

(((Hugs))) Shanny. Please definitely talk to your therapist about that. Is your therapist equipped for eating disorders? It's so hard, I know!!!

Poll and Questions for those already Sleeved:
LilMissDiva Irene replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This is good to know. I wonder how many actually do go back to feeling hunger again? Do you take a PPI? Just curious if this might have something to do with the hunger. If so, I will be afraid to not take it anymore. I'm waiting to make goal before weaning myself off it. My PCP said I should as I still get the acid bubbles from time to time even taking them to this day. Agree with Daisy, it's definitely mind over matter! I still get cravings even though I don't have physical hunger... ugghhh!!! -
Yeah well so am I (slow loser). It's ok though, it will make getting there that much sweeter. I've got my eye on ya from here on out!!! Get it!!! I agree with humpty - go out on a good hike and drink tons of water, you will get there!!!
Sorry though, I'm rooting for Irene on BL... if she makes the vote she'll probly win.

TV show: "ADDICTED TO FOOD"
LilMissDiva Irene replied to Luanne's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had been recording this on my DVR but due to other shows I'm watching I hadn't begun to watch this. I just started to within the last few days and WOW... this show is really deep. I like it. It has already made me cry several times. It is so true that an eating disorder is an eating disorder. I've had all types my whole life, they have all just manifested themselves differently over the years. I am working on them daily and likely will for the rest of my life. It sucks, but I know no one is going to fix me but me. I can get help, but *I* have to tackle the demons in order to get rid of them. -
