30 Day Challenge... get ready to kick some butt here!

Most excellent Lila!!! Onederland is SOOO CLOSE!!!
  3. My Consultation is on Monday and I'm hopeful I will be able to schedule for September 1st. I already know which Dr. I want to use as I've seen his work first hand and it's really really good. He also does reconstructive surgery for weight loss patients. I might want to get many consults at that point, and most likely might choose another Dr. for my Total Body Lift. However, that won't be for a few years from now. I am still considering doing the arm lift but will wait to see how time heals that. Attached are my pre-op photos. Right now my breasts are a 34C, however I bet if I wanted to fit in a B cup I probably could. My breasts totally flattened out in the last 20 Lbs!! They were doing great for a long time. I do believe I'm going to go for about a DD. As far as the knees, as you can see no explanation is necessary. I'm sure having that extra pillow of fat will feel so much more comfortable for me, during workouts and just the way my clothes fit. I'm very excited about this and I'm ready to go!!! 30 Day Challenge... get ready to kick some butt here!

Hey Lynda, great job!!! Today is DAY 4 and we have 26 DAYS LEFT!!! If you have gotten through the cravings by now you really should be good to go for the remainder of the days. My day 2 was sooo terrible, however I'm not having much cravings at all now. Thank goodness!!! For me today I'm sick I have a sore throat, a bad cough and a fever. So I'm going to take it easy. I even did yesterday too and I didn't realize I was actually getting ill!!! One thing I've noticed is that I don't really get Colds or Flus as much as I did when I was obese and unhealthy. I don't even think I've gotten like this once since my Sleeve surgery. I hope it will pass soon! Here were my totals from yesterday: Water: 132 Oz. Breakfast: 2 Scr eggs and 2 Sausages Snack: 1/4 Grapefruit w/Splenda Lunch: Baked chicken with Salsa and 2% cheese Dinner: Tuna on Mixed Baby Greens, with fresh tomato and cukes. 2% Cheese and HVR Dressing. Snack: 1 Serving Blue Diamond Almonds Workout: 30 Minutes on the Elliptical...

So sick on pre op diet

OK let me start by saying not eating anything is a really bad idea. Now that that's out of the way, maybe the answer is a lot simpler than you think. What kind of Protein shakes are you using? There are so many varieties out there, one has to be able to suit you. Even Slim Fast makes a Lo Carb version that's actually very palatable. Also, if you're making the shakes from powder, you don't HAVE to use milk. You can make the shake with Water if milk makes you ill or even Silk (Soy milk I believe). You shouldn't use milk if it makes you sick. I suggest going to GNC, or using http://vitalady.com/ - GNC will let you return unused portions of the Protein Shakes you don't like within 30 days I believe. Vitalady sells individual serving samples so you're not stuck paying for huge tubs of something you won't like. HTH
  7. I'm OVERWEIGHT today!!! My BMI is 29.7!!! I sooo love my sleeve!!! :)

Questions for sleevers at least 1 Year Post Op…

Hi Danielle, well I'm nearly a year out now and I can gladly tell you that YES!!! My High Blood Pressure is a thing of the past. I never had fully blown diabetes but with my family history and the way I was addicted to sugar I was going to get it eventually. I would get hypoglycemic if I didn't eat for awhile (felt nauseated, clammy, plain sick) and though my panels never really exposed this I knew it was coming. However since surgery I do not get like this ever anymore. In fact I feel sick when I do eat sugar!! What a blessing. HTH
  10. Questions for sleevers at least 1 Year Post Op… Hey everyone! I’m looking for some answers for those who are at least 1 year out. Now, myself I’m only barely a month out… but alas I’m always looking to the future. LMAO! Anyway, I just was reading around and thought I’d ask a few questions to those with at least a year’s worth of experience and time under their belt. 1) How fast are you able to eat now, in comparison to being newly sleeved (solid foods)? 2) How much can you eat now, in comparison to being newly sleeved (solid foods)? 3) Just for reference, please tell me what size sleeve you have. 4) How dense of food are you able to eat? (ie, steak, chicken breast, etc) 5) Are you able to handle bread of any kind? 6) Is there anything at all that still gives you trouble to eat this far out? 7) How is your energy level now? 8) How do your scars look now this far out (for those who were Lap)? 9) What is the one thing you enjoy most now since surgery? (Can be anything, not necessarily food related) 10) What is the one thing you regret most being this far out? (Again, anything goes) Thanks for your time! Your expertise and continuous assistance to those of us just starting out is so valuable! I wish you all the best in your continued losses or your maintenance.

Callanetics: 10 Years Younger in 10 Hours

Well I pretty much have always used the book. I still have one of the original prints made decades ago. I have my several favorites that I've pretty much always been doing, even at my heaviest. But I'm going to dig much deeper into the routines now that I'm much lighter and should be able to do the more difficult ones. I just bought the DVD set and should be here today!!! That said, you should do whatever keeps you motivated. Does anyone at your gym teach these routines? If not, then bring your book, find a corner and see how you like that. If you've never done these before give them a shot. I've found that they are actually pretty fun to do and the results just keep you doing more and more. It may get to the point you really don't mind doing them at home!

My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)

Ohhhh good luck today!!!! You're so lucky you can get that done through your insurance. Really I've never even asked mine, and it might be worth the try. But that's gotta wait a little while.

My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)

Thanks everyone!!! I will definitely update this thread whenever I get some new news and of course will show the results right after then a few months after too for final results. I can't wait!! Girl it seems like with every five pounds, one pound each is coming out of each boob. I'd also like to try to lose even more before my surgery so the results will be much better and he'll know exactly how much Silicone to use. I know I want Silicone, however I'm not sure what type (like under the muscle or whatever) I'll let him give me a good suggestion. Lila, yes the lower body lift will help even more with that, but I'm not going to do that for a few years. So right now I'm going to ask him to do some liposuction around that area for a little bit of immediate relief. My knees are so uncomfortable and makes my pants fit weird too. I've heard of other people having the liposuction there and their results came out good, so I'm going to go for it. I bet once I get my total body lift my results will be even better!! I'm telling you, I even felt embarrassed posting those pictures, but hey - they are what they are. That's from spending the last over 20 years being morbidly obese!! Thank goodness that is no longer, right? I can say though that for the most part my skin did really well considering I spent over 10 years being over 300 Lbs. But it would be foolish to think I wouldn't have any extra skin.

Thanks I'm not kidding when I say these workouts are AMAZING with sculpting the figure!! If anything it's these that single-handedly shaped my figure. Keeping my booty firm, making my waist tiny. However, my legs and batwings I owe it all to my running. And my belly flatness is from lower carbs. Here's another link that might be easier to navigate: http://www.callanetics.com/products.php

    I need a secretary!

OMG that is so true!! You're making me wonder if they do that on purpose... To the OP, the journey to get the sleeve or any WLS is pretty wacky. We all got through it though, and you will too. Just keep venting here, we'll get you through it.
  16. :) You made my day!! Yes... keep going!! It all is well that ends well. ;o)

Doctor never heard of the Sleeve

My PCP hadn't ever heard of it either. I literally had to bring in my scans that Dr. Aceves gave me so she can see exactly what I'd had done. Normally if the person hadn't heard of it I just give a general description, but I really wanted my PCP to know exactly what was going on with me since she would do all my medical care from that point. She was pretty amazed!! It's probably a great idea to bring in some type of information on it to your PCP.

how can i eat this much?

I have done this before when I notice I eat something that just does not settle well with me. Yes, I have to take itty bitty sips because at the moment it DOES fill me up faster, however it also gets my food to digest a lot faster too. So that prickly meal, whatever I ate gets out and I'm feeling better. That said, and since I've figured this out I do my best to not drink while eating! HTH

    Spouse or Sig other

I personally don't think you did anything wrong. YOU have to be attracted to the person laying next to you for it to work, plain and simple. Your criteria has now changed since you have changed on who you feel attracted to. It's better to be real about it now, than to go through with the whole Marriage shabang and realize once you've already committed that you changed your mind. She may feel that way about you, but that's her cross to bear. Find someone suitable for you, she wasn't the one. I'm just really lucky in that my Husband has always been fitness minded. He's overweight but a solid and strong overweight. My feelings for him have only gotten stronger as he became my biggest supporter and is always game for eating whatever I can concoct and all my experiments. He's a good sport and always knows what to say to make me feel better when I'm having a down day. He does like his sugar though!! But he knows when to put them down when he's putting on some weight. You now need to find the "one" who meets your needs as much as you meet hers. Wishing you well!
  21. Weird yet fun NSV.. So, I'm having the tattoo on my wrist removed via laser (in my quest to change lots about me!) Anyway, the laser tech was talking me through the pain... then she says "Oh the pain is going to be more intense for these bony parts..." LOL!!! I had to think twice on that. I really don't remember EVER being described anywhere near BONY!!! ;o)

  22. Thank you! :) Wishing you well for Wednesday!

how can i eat this much?

Well that was easy!! I'm glad you were able to find the reason so fast. Drinking while sleevers eat will break down the food in your stomach much faster and drain it down goes... You're doing really great Jess, I'm very happy for your progress!!!
