    BIG secret... good or bad?

I was also a revision from Band to Sleeve. I told everyone and their Mamas about my Lap Band. It was moritying for me once I gained my weight back and while being on display. I just didn't want to go through that ever again!! I chose not to tell anyone (save for my hubby and close family!). Well my weight loss was pretty dramatic and fast so I do get questioned on my method all the time. Sometimes I tell them, and sometimes I don't. I all depends on my mood at the time. It's my story to tell and if I don't feel like it at any one time, I don't even sweat it. It has nothing to do with anything except just not feeling like it really. I personally don't care what anyone thinks or whatever. If I do talk about it, everyone is really open to it though and haven't ever come accross any strange or negative feedback. Most folks seem to be more interested in hearing about it. I know this, so if that's usually how I decide whether or not I have the time to discuss it, or if I even want to. Gawsh I hope I'm making any kind of sense right now... Anyway so what I'm really saying is, do whats best for you always. Then if you change your mind later and choose to start opening up to others about it, that's ok too. It's your life!! Live it how you feel best.

    Biggest loser...

Here's the link to all interested: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/21835-callanetics-10-years-younger-in-10-hours/ It usually takes one hour and for best results, 2x per week is sufficient. They are rather difficult though - but the results are really worth it.

    Biggest loser...

I hear ya!! That's why I don't do any strength training. I gain muscle too easily and I'm heavy enough. Don't worry anyway, according to the book, she says 2 sessions per week is sufficient so you're right in there. *hugs*

    what are sliders?

My sliders are popcorn ( I agree it has to be the 100 calorie pops or I way over do it ), Ritz Crackers ( OMG I can eat so many of these its ridiculous ), Actually... all crackers, Chips, Pretzels, anything liquidy, SF Candies ( my tummy doesn't like sugar so I can't eat a lot of that - but SF and I get into trouble ), etc... pretty much everything everyone else has already mentioned.

i made a really bad food choice tonight

Don't beat yourself up over this. 3 Oz of Chocoloate Mousse a failure does not make. Now if you start doing this every day and eating more than a single serving... then start to worry. But for that, just enjoy it for the moment and move on.

  9. Let's start with suggestions for times and places. Pretty much I'm open Saturday late afternoons. I can do Sacramento, or Vacaville or perhaps even Hayward.

    The hope is...

Howdy Dave, and welcome!!! You asked a series of questions, yet you answered them all in one swoop. "but then again, if I don’t I probably won’t live anyway. " That's all you need to remember as you head on this journey. Taking this leap you are going to start living again like you never thought you could! If you ever need anything, just let me know. I'm always glad to help. I love my sleeve!!!! I know you will too. All the best!!

    Biggest loser...

The Biggest Loser contestants lose all that weight in 6-8 months. They train hard in the gym minimum 8 hours of their day. They just have amazing trainers and know which exercises are the best to handle batwing situations. I really don't have bad ones, but they are there. I do a lot of arm toning to help with it. However, I dn't do any repetitious weight lifting so that's not it. Look in that book coops, there is an awesome toning exercise that I do every time I do those workouts. It's like extending your arms from front to back... give it some time and it will work.
  13. Here's the good news. They do not know how much you weigh... so they are used to seeing you day in and day out at a certain size. That they can see! But as you whittle away it takes them time to get used to the new you. To them, you really are skinny. Here's the bad news. It's just gets worse. I was actually led around by the hand last week so some gal here at work could show me off. That was a little embarrassing!!! Apparently I'm the talk of the town here. I felt a little on display... I hope that never happens again.

    Looks?

I believe with all of my heart that any one of us can reach any goals we set for ourselves. The sleeve has made this possible for myself and countless others here from what I've seen. I can't say this is true for all WLS though. The band didn't get me anywhere (speaking from my own personal experience of course) and I've seen many RnY patients who never reach goal. I don't really know what the differences are, however I've seen so many of us sleevers reach our goals and beyond! SK, it's funny you should mention not getting taller because I just remeasured my height and I gained an inch back. Granted I was 5'7 as far as I can remember but when I was being measured for my BMI to start my LapBand process I was measured at 5'6. So yeah, we can even get a little taller with weight loss. I'm sure it's all posture related, but I'm glad to know I got my inch back!!! CT, Just keep doing you. Set your goal and fight for it. If your goals should change, that's ok too. You make the rules for your own body. You will get there, I have no doubts.

    Hey you guys...

...and yet still none of the guys here have posted us any pics!!! C'mon guys!!!
  16. That "teenage" outfit I've had in my closet for over 20 years. It was my favorite before I kept blowing up to my largest. I always promised myself I'd fit into it again one day. And I do now!!! :))

  17. Thanks so much for the comment!!! <3 Xoxo

  18. Thanks for the comment!!! <3 Well wishes on your new journey! You won't regret it!!!

  19. I think once I'm all healed up I might go in a different direction with my workouts. Crazy huh? I'm thinking I might take up kickboxing (non contact of course! Don't wanna get punched in the twins... haha) but I'm thinking I wanna do something more overall toning. We'll see. :)

  20. LilMissDiva Irene

    I'll show you mine... (LBD's)

Thanks girlie!!! And thank you for giving me that last bit of convincing I needed to get this done!!! Xoxo

Ok NorCals... we need to decide on a meeting

Sorry I can't do Aug. 27th y'all - that's only 2 days after my surgery. Don't let that stop you all though, I can always catch the next one.
  22. LilMissDiva Irene

    Hey you guys...

Oh for goodness sakes!!! I think that might be why I was specific on what to post here... LMAO!!
  23. Keep the workouts minimal because I'm not supposed to collect sweat on my incision lines. Also, too much movement can shift the breasts, and during healing the implants are supposed to stay in place in the pouch created by the surgeon. I know I'll be ok, and in reality it is time to slow down on the workouts too. :) *hugs*

  24. Thank you so much for the link!!! It did work and I'm going to read it right now. I know some of this is true, even many years later. I was always fit and athletic as a teen and whenever I would pick these habits back up my body always remembers and gets fit quickly. :) I do have to keep the workouts very minimal...(more)

    Scar tissue and the sleeve

Hey there... I've had some similar issues, though I never had to have my uterus removed. I did have my left ovary removed due to a large cyst. Since then everything else has been normal (this was 10 years ago too) but I did get some pretty bad internal scarring from this. The pain was so bad a few year out that my Gyno had to go back in to clean out the scarring and ended up removing the left tube. I do still get some pains during my cycle but its usually handled with Aleve taken on a regular basis during TOM. It hasn't resurfaced enough to needing more surgeries *knock on wood*. Anyway, knowing this I have to say that I didn't have really any major issues with scarring from my sleeve. I know Dr. Aceves had to remove some scarring my lap band surgery created but it didn't sound like anything more than what a Dr. would normally see in this case. My sleeve has healed up nicely and I don't feel abnormal or any strange twinges of pain at all. Good luck!!! I hope it all works out for you.
