    Facebook can be the Devil sometimes. It is for that reason I have created an alter ego Facebook page. The truth is unless you're in the WLS community they simply won' understand. Then sometimes your WLS friends won't either! Anyway, I at least get far fewer asinine statements from individuals who have no clue what its like to be "me". Just keep doing you, and have your revision. You WON'T regret it. I know, I'm a revision from band to sleeve too!

    This morning I've lost 150 LBS!!!

    Hi Roz, to answer all your questions: I follow a sleevers basic diet, meaning Protein first, then green (or other) veggie and some whole grain or better carb choices. I usually only have room for a few bites of carbs. However in the beginning you will find you probably won't have room at all for anything but your protein and maybe one or two bites of veggie. However, I stress that I ALWAYS SAVED ROOM for my veggies. It's really important for good health and I wasn't willing to trade that in! For my morning workout, I do not eat anything before. The reason behind this is my body needs the first whole 15-20 minutes to burn off any glycogen in my blood before it starts to burn the fat. With not eating prior, my body goes straight into fat burn. The results do prove this!!! I don't feel hunger anyway so why eat? I'll make myself a Protein shake with about 25g in it immediately after. The morning workout consists of 20 minutes stationary bike and treadmill for 40 minutes, 4x per week or 20 minutes stationary bike and 30 minutes elliptical 2x per week. I always adjust this however to break up the monotony, and sometimes its just not feasible. However, I do stick to this plan about 95% of the time. However for evenings I'll wait about 1 hour after dinner to start. I also reserve my muscle toning workouts and strength training and Callanetics for this time of day. I do this because I always feel too tired to do cardio at night and find excuses not to do it. This way I get much more done. Then I can just tell myself I've only got to do 30 minutes... LOL Just little ways to always keep myself working out! I'm not considered a fast loser by any means. I'm totally ok with this because in my world, this is for life!!! It seems fast to others though on the outside looking in. I'm just consistent and never give up. I always find ways of improving on all the successes and goals I've already had. However, I did this to get myself in the most proper shape and health I could. For me and my structure I think 29% Moderately Lean body would look great for me. However, knowing me I will re-assess when I get there! Once I feel I don't need to get any smaller, then I'll need to work on not getting out of shape or gaining back any extra fat on my body. My journey doesn't end when I get to a certain number on the scale. My journey will NEVER end. The best advice I can give you is to never give up, and to always get back up and move forward. The first whole month is probably going to be your toughest. Just try to hang in there and keep looking toward the future, because it will get better. Expect stalls, they do happen for most of us. Don't let it get to you so much your feeling like a failure. A failure is permanent!! Those stalls aren't. All the best in the coming weeks! It's going to come fast... hold on to your seat!!!! But it is TRULY worth it all!!!

    This morning I've lost 150 LBS!!!

    Awww thanks SLEEVER FAMILY!!! These pounds tht I'm losing right now are very difficult!!! I'm having to eat so perfectly and workout like CRAZYY!! It sure is worth the outcome though. Working toward a 29% body fat which will place me in the "moderately lean" category. Whoottt!!! Had I ever even imagined one year ago today that I'd be fighting for LEAN... I woulda called myself insane!!!

    Low carb versus low calorie

    I did 60g TOTAL carbs per day. I didn't account for anything except carbs period. However, my choices were always whole grains, green veggies and very little fruit. I tried to do my best to do high fiber which I'd get in around 18-25g per day. I held a higher ceiling because my workout routine is very intense and it just worked much better for me. My body does not like to do 30g or less for any length of time as my weight loss would plummet, besides I would feel so terrible!! Everyone's just got to find their own personal happy medium. Log everything and keep a journal and take notice on what works best for your body. Good luck!

    Deedee, thanks so much for checking in and telling us your story! I love it when the long time sleevers come back and give us a little bit of how their lives are managing. It sounds like you are on top of the world and your baby is so sweet and precious!!! How can you not be in love??? Wishing you all the very very best! Also, congrats on maintaining your weight, you're really doing awesome!!

    Hi there, If you don't mind, when was your surgery? Are you still supposed to be on liquids right now? If so, then do please get back on them ASAP. Keep in mind the reason our surgeons put us on these post op diets is to protect our health. Eating too soon can lead to a whole host of really bad complications including leaks. Leaks have been known to keep people in the hospital recovering for months, and can even lead to death. Please take this very seriously. If you're able to eat what your family is eating now, then really I say don't beat yourself up. It's ok once in awhile to let go, but just get back on the weight loss bandwagon right away. Don't let it linger too long, for the longer you do the harder it is to get back to losing. HTH - and all the very best!!

  16. GOOD MORNING!!! Today I'm down 150.2 Lbs... and in 8.2 more Lbs I'll have lost 100 total from my VSG surgery. In fact I've lost 101.2 Lbs from the START of my VSG Journey!!! ;-D

    Hello everyone, Lets please keep to the topic at hand, which is always been quite the debate around here over time. Everyone's journey's are their own and as long as you're making it work and you're losing weight that is all that really matters. Remember to remain respectful in your replies at all times, which all of us agreed to do when we signed up here.   22. Good morning!! Wow my body aches so bad! It was hard to sleep last night... though that's never stopped me before. Still did my Callanetics last night and doing my stationary bike 20 minutes and 40 on the treadmill right now. Tonight I'll stretch with some yoga. Tomorrow I get a day off -- TG!! LMAO!!

    Thank you!!! It's not going to be very easy. I already only lose about 4-5 Lbs per month now. So I'll have to stay at 5 Lbs per month or above to reach my goal in this timeline. However fat loss is different than weight loss, so I could still build muscle and end up heavier than 151 Lbs and still be 29% Body Fat. So... we'll see how I end up!!! *hugs*

    CONGRATS!!!! Remember, sip, walk, rest... which it sounds like your doing great already. Check in with us whenever you feel up to it! Also remember, the first month is the toughest, but you're tougher and will get through it.
