My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)

Awww thank you!!! I love make up so much! I really want to learn how to do the smokey eye like Olivia on Jerseylicious.
  2. Though it's been a few months now, I normally do it on a monthly basis. In the beginning I was doing it every few weeks. I would also record them and match them to the month or weeks prior to watch the inches melt away. Do it at least monthly and at most bi-weekly and you will see a difference in one place or another. Also, measure all your body parts, like arms upper and lower, thighs and calves, ankles, wrists, neck... all that!!! It's such a great tool, especially when the scale is being greedy.
  3. Like everyone else, I"m suspecting you have knocked out your electrolytes balances. This is not only potassium but Calcium and magnesium as well. Try adding in more zero calories sports drinks, or like Stary mentioned, take them in pill form. I do every single day. I know when I forget because I immediately get muscle cramps. Good luck!! You're really doing fabulous!!
  4. How far out from surgery are you? I remember getting those pains too for the first 2-3 weeks post op. I would even take tiny sips, wait in between - it just didn't matter. Every swallow hurt. If this is what's happening to you, just know that it's quite normal in a lot of us and it will go away in a few weeks. Continue to take tiny sips, or itty bitty bites, wait a little between each one and definitely measure your portions. *hugs*
  5. Thank you darlin'. :-) It's nice to feel confident in myself once again. Not that mine was all that bad, but for sure it has skyrocketed!!!

I know that's right!! To heck with all the negative Nellies. If they only knew what I've been through in my life, they'd never do it. Anyway, yes, you're going to love your sleeve and everything else that goes along with it. I know I do!!! TGoodness for surgeries, of all types. Heehee Keep me updated on your progress!! That's good information to be aware of. Thank you!

My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)

Whooopsss!!! I forgot to mention that I have completely changed my Liposuction Appts. They are now going to be performed in November. It's a really good thing I did some finding out that they had me scheduled with 2 different surgeons... which was a mistake. They don't like to do that, so it's all re-situated and I've already gotten the time off from work. I think I'm only going to work 15 days in the entire month of November, with 2 Holidays and 2 RDO's squeezed in there, plus the 5 days off for recovery time. Yeahh!! I can deal with that!! My first Liposuction Appt will be on Wednesday November 2nd. They will remove fat from my inner thighs and around my knees. My second Liposuction Appt will be on Friday November 18th. They will remove fat from my outter thigh (saddle bags) and around my waist. I can't wait!! I am glad though that it was postponed. I like the idea of healing from the BA first.

Wow I'm so sorry to hear that! If you don't mind, what were the symptoms... just so I would, or anyone reading this would know what to look out for?

My Plastics Journey - My first one (of several)

Thanks favoredone! I can't say enough how happy I am that I did this! You would be too, if that is what you choose to do. Nothing at all wrong with wanting too look great. Sure, that did have some things to do with why I had this surgery, though I always say my health was the number one reason, and it really was... but again, I do care how I look!!! So today is 2 weeks post op. I'm still feeling some soreness, especially in the nipple area. Also the skin around the breast feels kinda prickly, but better than the numbness I suppose I felt for the first week post op. According to the gal who helped remove my stitches last week she said it can take an entire 4 months before I get fully healed and to know how my breasts will end up looking. Great thing though is my swelling is FINALLY starting to subside some and the boobs are starting to feel more bouncy and look more real. It's kinda weird though because when I'm walking I can feel them bouncing around and I'm so NOT USED TO THAT!! LOL!! Not even when my breasts were larger and real. I would harness them really good though, and the Dr.s bra is somewhat "freedom" giving... if that makes any sense at all. Hahaaa!!! I can tell you this, once that 6 weeks is up and I can start wearing any bra I want, I will be harnessing these girls once again. They are very flamboyant... heehee!! Here's some photos I just took right now. As you can see, the swelling toward the top of the breast has gone down a lot, and they look to be dropping some. Full dropping & fluffing (D&F according to the BA world) takes the whole 3-4 months. Good luck to any ladies planning to do this!! Again... don't regret a darned thing.

    What made you do it?

Not for me, I do take my Hubby's suggestions seriously always. In fact he and I discussed this thoroughly before proceeding. He was completely supportive and he was the driving force to make the final decision. He's never led me astray! But this is another topic entirely.

What was the last movie you watched?

Ooohh thanks! I want to see Apollo 18...

Feeling full on the sleeve. What it like?

This is exactly what full feels like to me as well. I honestly don't even remember what the old "real" full sensation even feels like anymore. I haven't felt that since before 2008, pre Lap-Band. Eventually I guess that will be true for all of us. You do get used to the new full sensations. Right now drinking fluids only you're likely to not feel full. When you get to more solids, you will start to feel it. I've noticed there are two post op camps, those who can eat/drink like normal and those who absolutely can't. I was in the CAN'T camp for sure. All the best!

    Bowflex treadclimber... good or bad???

Let me know how you like it! I'm ready for a new addition to the home gym.

What was the last movie you watched?

My last viewed film was The Help. Loved it!!!! It made me cry, but then again little doesn't. I even cried when Odie was adopted on a Garfield cartoon. I was 18 then, so it counts. Anyway, I highly recommend it, and bring the Kleenex.

This is weird, but did anyone ask...

Well, I didn't ask to see it so I'm not sure if he would've let me if I did ask. That said, I remember awhile ago someone posted on here that they asked their Surgeon if they could actually keep it... like in a Mason jar or something. I don't think they were able to... LOL Good luck on your journey.

Tell me about your 1st stall......

The 3rd week stall typically lasts about 3-5 weeks. However, mine only lasted about 10 days I think. Good luck!

    What made you do it?

I had a great many reasons on why I went with WLS. Even more as I ventured into a SECOND one! And a much better one if I may say so. However my major contributor for going for surgery was the fact that I had gotten Hypertension AKA High Blood Pressure. I watched my Uncle who was in his early 40's at the time die from it. His was so bad he blew out his Kidneys and lived on dialysis for 3 years. Then once he finally got called to have the Kidney transplant, he ended up with a brain tumor from his anti-rejection medication and ended up passing away not even a year later. Again... in his early Forties. I was diagnosed with Hypertension at the very young age of 31 years old. I was killing myself. I had to stop it immediately. I did stop it. Today my blood pressure is very well controlled and I'm healthier today than I have ever been. I was even a very active and athletic teenager. I regret nothing in my life, for all my trials have made me who I am today.
  21. Today was my first day back at work... boy m I tired. :-(

    Is It True???

For at least the first 4-6 months its been said that you should avoid "sodas". Some believe it's because the carbonation can cause stretching of the new stomach. However, I prefer not to drink them simply because they are full of chemicals and provide zero nutrients to my body. Not only that, they are so full of sodium, even the zero calorie choices that it's going to do 2 things to my body. It's going to strip me of fluids and make me retain them too. In the beginning it's hard enough to get all the fluids in that are necessary. Water or Sports Drinks are a far better choice, IMO.
  23. I don't see where anyone mentioned alcohol. Yes, you will be able to eat and drink at the same time in the future, if you so choose.

My LONG LABOR DAY WEEKEND BLUES

Wowza!! You certainly did have a rough Holiday Weekend. I do hope you continue to get better!! Please keep us updated on how you're doing. This really is the first time I've heard of this happening post surgery, and I've seen maybe a million WLS posts in my lifetime.
