When You Need Motivation Or Have Qs I'm Happy To Help :)
LilMissDiva Irene replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You're right on track, most of us will lose about half our excess weight in the first 4-5 months. After that, it's pretty much going to be mostly our hard work and determination that will get us to our goals. Once you get within 30 Lbs of your normal weight, you will find it extremely more difficult. Based on your goal, it looks like you are pretty close to that. Keep in mind too, you are going to be left with a lot of shrunken fat cells and some excess skin. Believe it or not, this has some weight attached to it. The only things you can really do is keep bumping up your workouts (more intense, more time added), continue to intake plenty of Water, eat low(er) carb or stick to complex carbohydrates, I agree try to avoid many fruits right now, eat a lot of green vegetables, and stick to the lean Protein first rule. If you have to, getting further out you might need to start measuring your food again. Also, I started to have to log my food intake because I found I was grazing a little too much. The number one rule however for me was always, have patience. Keep doing all the right things and in time you will reach your goals. Good luck!!! It will happen when it was meant to happen. Can't ever rush a good thing. -

Dr. Kelly vs. Dr. Aceves
LilMissDiva Irene replied to TheSkinnyCow73's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my revision with Dr. Aceves - and never have anything but rave reviews for him, the hospital and his staff. That said, I've not come across any bad information about Dr. Kelly except one time. I've also never seen an actual account of that incidence either, it was just hearsay IMO. I KNOW for a fact based on my own personal experience that Dr. Aceves is an excellent choice. Good luck!! -
Hi!!! I agree with Lissa, it sounds like you already know what you need to do to get that scale/inches moving again. If this helps at all, Plastic Surgeons don't usually perform skin removals until you are at GOAL for about a years worth of time. If you are really interested in having that procedure done, then work really hard to hit your goal and stay there. Best wishes to you!! Congrats on your 80#'s lost as well, thats really fantastic!!

Following The Instructions - Really Suffering
LilMissDiva Irene replied to Efamcan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Contact your Surgeons Office. Sometimes new sleevers need to be prescribed something for nausea. It could be the over production of acid in your stomach, that always makes me feel sick. I hope you get to feeling better soon!!! -

What to do when women start noticing you
LilMissDiva Irene replied to PatrickG's topic in The Guys’ Room
TRUE. FALSE. Enjoy your new found fame Patrick!! You deserve it! -
Ive ALWAYS carried the majority of my weight in my thighs. I think this had a lot to do with my image issues when I was younger. I always felt fat, even when I wasn't. At one point I was so super thin, I would faint and get sick... this is NOT good. My doctor wanted my Mom to send me to a psychiatrist. It was a really weird time for me. I went to a few appointments but never went back. I was able to break out of that terrible cycle but that's when the weight gain began. Then the long story begins... Anyway once I got thinned out right now, I noticed that I was still carrying a whole heckuva lot of fat in my thighs. The terrible thing was looking at my face and upper body made me not want to continue to lose because I was (still am) boney skinny up there. It made me feel really lopsided and un attractive. So that's why I chose to have the liposuction procedure performed. I knew I couldn't keep trying to lose weight anymore. I was able to put on some very small sized pants but they would always fit really weird. Really tight in the knees and thighs but loose around the waist. My lipos were the only way I was able to fix this problem. NOT to say you will have to go through this too! I'm just sharing my personal experience. Good luck!!! Everyone loses differently. It is my hope that you will lose evenly. Merry Christmas!

Help! Not Sleeping :(
LilMissDiva Irene replied to EmSchrams's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes!! I'm a tummy sleeper too. I used the Celestial Sleepy Time Tea, that really helped me. Or some warm soothing teas with melatonin. It was hard for me for the first month out because I couldn't get to sleep in my favorite position until around 2 months out. Also, I'd always wake up several times through the night to shift around due to pain. Hang in there! Things will keep getting better and better. (((hugs))) ETA: I would drink this about an hour before it was time for lights out. I'd lay in my bed, get warm, comfy and cozy and sip my tea. Before I'd know it I'd nod out. HTH -
LOL you just cracked me up!! Thanks for the laugh! Cheers girlie you've done it. You're within pounds to where you want to be, if anyone else can't be happy for that, well they can just go kick rocks. BTW... picture updates!! I loooveee to see those.

Has Anyone Skipped The Puree Diet?
LilMissDiva Irene replied to StephanieG86's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please do not take the advice of someone over the internet versus the person you allowed to sleeve you. Contact your Surgeon if you feel you would like to speed up the process. He or she should be the one to guide you on such an important decision as this, as this would also be the person to correct any damage you might bring to yourself by not following your guidelines. Take care of yourself, don't let others who are not qualified, do this for you. -
